My Last Hunt

Chapter 101: Level Four Chaser

Level Four Chaser

As the morning arrived, they were ready to separate and walk on their own paths. Limmu was going to go back to his previous Guild while Qiao headed towards the Starglow Guild. He was excited to register himself in the Guild for the special missions of winter and also this will smoothen his journey towards the Hightown after when he reached Level Five.

Starglow Guild was one of those who could grant gold tokens as a permission to level five hunters to travel towards Hightown. The information Limmu gave him was enough to satisfy his current concerns. He kept the booklet with him for when he would need it in future as he had not learnt all the information. He would have to find another chaser later who could. Limmu had given him so much information right now that he had to accumulate it first and then think about learning the various random facts that the booklet contained.

As he walked towards his destination, he finally saw the big shining board at the face of a Guild building, 'Starglow; Defy The Grounds, a place for ascenders'

The entrance had the same receptions desk just like any other Guild but the difference was in the grandeur of appearance. There were some open waiting chambers and two reception men sitting across the desk.

"Greetings seniors, I am here to register for the winter missions." Qiao greeted and spoke. The reception men scrutinized him from head to toe, and were able to make out that he was level four and eligible for the registration.

"Which Guild did you belong to before?" One of them opened a writing register and asked him. The process was simple, he would first write down the casual info about the chaser and the background behaviour in his previous Guild. This was a rule, though after getting registered chasers rarely followed rules among teams, but this did not mean the Guild would not care about their previous history.

"The Cloak of Wolf"

Qiao told the name of the previous Guild while he had zero clues as to why they had asked it. The other man shuffled through a big register and searched through the name list.

"Your name is not in any of the teams of that Guild." he looked up and spoke. The list was two-month-old while Qiao had joined that Guild at the last week of the last month and the data was not sent to others yet.

"I joined it late last month with my own team. Now my team has went back to the downtown to spend the winters. My team won the yearly placement token too." He omitted the part where he had a disagreement and was kicked out of the Guild later.

"Oh, the data has not reached us yet. You have to wait until we send someone to testify the validity of the information." The reception man gestured at him to wait in the chamber.

"But that would spoil my whole day." Qiao worriedly spoke. For him to wait was equal to wasting precious time.

At that moment, a man walked in front of the desk. He was well built and wearing better clothing. He was at level six and ready to travel towards Hightown as two days ago he was finally granted the Golden Token. When he arrived in front of the desk, he heard the last sentence, from the impatient tone of the chaser he got surprised. The voice matched to the voice he had heard in the forest. He was here to say goodbye but thought to talk with the young man when he noticed him.

Qiao also then noticed the curious eyes and when he turned he recognized him but then ignored, as he thought that both of them had helped each other equally and had no debt to pay to the other.

"I have never seen you here before" The senior hunter looked toward the chaser and asked with the same curiosity. He asked this to clarify his doubt. That day, when he returned back with complete mission singlehandedly, the Guild gave him a special position and golden token. Now he was respected in the Guild and a strong hunter.

Both reception men were feeling odd as to why a senior and respected hunter was asking something unimportant to a common chaser.

"That's because I have never been here." Qiao shook his shoulders without any care.

At the same time the new data finally arrived and the reception man started to look out for the name professionally.

"What? You were kicked out of your previous Guild? We cannot register a chaser with such behaviour and background." he closed the papers and shook his head.

"I was only helping a week team back then against the snatchers but that shameless snatcher put a false complaint against me in the Guild." he spoke with determination as if he didn't care whether this Guild would register him or not.

Once it was done it would remain so. He was not going to regret his decision from back then. He would find another way to level up if they did not accept him here. On the side, when the senior hunter heard him speak as such he was certain this young man the same.

"We cannot testify your words; do you have someone to testify the truth for your excuse?" The reception man crossed his arms. Mostly in such matters, a chaser can never bring someone who could testify his innocence in the certain matter.

"This would take another day for me to bring that team and I don't know whether he has already left for downtown or not." He spoke in fallen spirits.

At that, the senior hunter put his hand on his shoulders and smiled. "Come on buddy, you do not need someone of lower levels to testify your words."

The reception men saw this and their jaws fell to the ground. There was no one currently here, only the senior, the chaser and the two reception men.

'What does this senior mean' they were thinking in their heads.
