Twin Soul

Book 3: Chapter 10 (4/10)

Kain was busy fighting with forty-seven powerful creatures using his Vampire Emperor Flesh Monster form. Needless to say, Kain would have died a long time ago if it wasn’t for his [Abyssal Flesh] spell because [Life Drain] spell alone wasn’t healing him fast enough. Took a quick glance at Finwe to see why he hasn’t killed Noe yet, Kain quickly noticed Finwe and Noe were just talking to each other.

In anger, Kain asked Finwe telepathically, “Dude, what the hell? Why haven’t you killed Noe Clerico yet?”

Finwe sadly answered, “Kain, I have failed. My mana pool has reached depletion. My physical strength alone won’t be able to kill him now.”

“What happened?”

“I still don’t know. Noe somehow tricked me into attacking his Skeleton Warrior instead of him.”

Finwe was embarrassed when he told Kain this. Finwe has upgraded his Thunder Soul to Delusionist Soul. So it was him who was supposed to trick other people, not the other way around.

Still struggling to defend himself from forty-seven powerful creatures, Kain quickly calmed his anger down and told Finwe, “Hey, it’s okay. He was aware of your Delusion Magic so it’s no surprise he found a way to counter it. Go ahead and kill yourself so I can conjure you back to refill your mana pool.”

“But doing so will expose that I’m no longer your Soul-bound creature, isn't that right”

“I don’t care about it anymore. As long as we can kill him today, then he won’t have a chance to find you in the realm of Thunder Eagles. Plus, your Delusion Magic should be able to help you escape any danger. I needed you to have a full mana pool to help me fight with those creatures while I go and try to kill him by myself. I think it still comes down to me and him fighting until who runs out of energy source first. Let’s see if his mana pool is bigger than all blood pools of my Blood Equipment.”

Listened to Kain, Finwe used his long sword to stab himself in the throat, leaving Noe shockingly confused. After Finwe was being conjured back to the battleground by Kain, Noe quickly understood everything and thought to himself, “The Evolved Thunder Eagle wasn’t his Soul-bound Creature anymore. He has bound his Conjurer Soul with the Devil Overlord. I was wondering how he could have defeated Anwyn Richir using just his astral form, now I see.”

Having Finwe fought with forty-seven powerful creatures conjured by Noe Clerico, Kain Bersk flew in front of Noe, concealed his Vampire Emperor’s Wings, and challenged him, “You and me. Physical strength fights only. Let’s see who is more skilled in physical battle.”

Noe then vanished because it was just his [Shadow Clone] spell and reappeared at another location about two feet away and said, “It seems like I still have to use [Magic Mantras] ability to be able to cast magic. If you really want to fight me using physical strength only, then stop using whatever magic spell you used to stop me from casting magic."

“I won’t deactivate my [Magic Annulment] spell. This is to make sure it will cost you great mana if you want to use [Unlimited Life] spells or any other magic.”

“Fool, shouldn’t you learn by now that my mana pool is massively large? It will never reach depletion, idiot. I saw that you have already switched several Blood Rings and Blood Pendants which means that [Magic Annulment] spell is draining your blood pools much faster than usual. At this rate, you will soon run out of blood to use your Blood Magic.”

Pointing his Magical Diamond Ice Spear toward Noe, Kain asked, “You don’t have to worry about that. Physical strength only, do you dare to accept my challenge?”

“Certainly, if you insist on playing that way.”

Noe and Kain started fighting using physical strength only. Not even three minutes later, Kain cheated by using [Vampiric Clench] spell to choke Noe using telekinesis then broke his neck and slammed him on the ground. Noe immediately revived himself and said, “As expected out of a Blood Mage, nothing you say can be trusted. I always have my [Unlimited Life] spell ready so cheating wouldn’t help you win.” Without saying a word to explain his cheating, Kain repeatedly struck his Ice Spear toward Noe and they resumed their battle.

Finwe casted [Delusion World] spells toward some creatures then killed them using his Thunder Magic before they could free themselves from the [Delusion World]. Finwe then casted [Invisibility Cloak] spell to get away from the rest of the creatures while planning to use the same trick to kill them all. After successfully using the same trick four times, Finwe was killed after receiving powerful attacks from some creatures. Kain quickly conjured Finwe back to the battlefield while Noe was doing the same for the creatures that Finwe had killed.

While parrying a strong right-hand punch from Noe using his Ice Spear, Kain thought to himself, “Finwe is incredibly strong when fighting one versus one, but his Delusion Magic wasn’t designed to help him in the battle of one versus many. The good thing is I can conjure him back to the battlefield as many times as I wanted without using too much blood since he is no longer my Soul-bound Creature. My main concern is more toward Anwyn. Will she be able to defeat the Demigod God Ice Mage as many times as I needed her to? This will force Noe to use a large chunk of his mana pool to cast [Soul Bridge] spell to conjure the Demigod back due to the seventy-two hours penalty.”

While repeatedly delivering powerful punches toward Kain, Noe noticed Lien had been killed more than five times already by Kimaris and Ursula. Feeling his mana pool has about eighty percent left, Noe thought to himself, “Looks like Lien wasn’t strong enough to defeat the Demon Lord of the Thirteen Gate without dying more than ten times. I gave her the task of not dying more than three times but she has failed. At this rate, my mana pool will be decreased faster than anticipated. I have to find someone else to face Kimaris, letting Lien continue fighting him just gonna waste my mana pool.”
