As Qin Youxuan was speaking, she felt his large hand move to her lower abdomen. Through her thin pajamas, his warm palm clung to her.

Qin Youxuan was taken aback.

“Does this feel better?” Dan Hanjie, looking down at her, moved his lips close to her ear. His voice was low and calm, yet full of concern.

Qin Youxuan thought, her face must look awful, it even seemed to worry the Big Devil.

“Hmm.” Qin Youxuan nodded, her body warmed by his large hand. She truly felt it was more effective than a hot water bottle.

“Sleep now.”

Dan Hanjie tightened his arm, holding her closely.

Only when she heard the steady rhythm of his breath did she gently close her eyes.

After what felt like a long sleep, Qin Youxuan was jolted awake by a searing pain.

She opened her eyes to see that it was still pitch black outside.

Dan Hanjie was only lightly closing his eyes, his hand was still holding her tightly.

Qin Youxuan turned her head to look at him for a while, then the abdominal pain became unbearable again. She gently moved his hand away, intending to get up and drink water.

As soon as she moved, his dark eyes opened.

His gaze was clear, showing no signs of just having woken up.

“What’s the matter?” Dan Hanjie put his large hand on her cheek. The cold temperature made her frown, “I’ll take you to the hospital.”

“No need, I’m okay. Just having a bad stomachache. I’ll be fine after drinking some warm water…” Qin Youxuan covered her stomach and managed to speak.

Her normally charming face was now devoid of color, pale as a sheet, as if all the blood in her body had been drained.

Dan Hanjie’s eyes flashed. He insisted, “We’re going to the hospital.”

He got off the bed and reached for his jacket hanging on the rack.

“Dan Hanjie, I’m really okay.” Qin Youxuan quickly held his hand and swallowed, “It’s an old problem. Just a stomachache, it won’t kill me.”

“Does this happen every time?” Dan Hanjie frowned, his attractive brow crinkling into a frown.

He knew that women would be uncomfortable for a few days each month, but he didn’t know it could be this bad.

Looking at her now, she seemed as if she could pass out from loss of blood at any moment.

It gave him an undescribable sense of panic.

“Hmm, the water bottle is there, just help me pour a cup of water.” Qin Youxuan pointed in the direction of the table.

Seeing that Dan Hanjie was still motionless, intent on taking her to the hospital, she endured the pain to explain, “Ever heard this phrase, period pain isn’t a sickness, but it can be deadly when it hits? I’ve been to the hospital before. They prescribed me all sorts of medicines. I would take a few when it becomes unbearable, but I can’t take them all the time. I just endure it.”

Upon hearing this, Dan Hanjie paused. He looked at her stubborn little face, then bent down to gently lift her and place her at the head of the bed. He propped her up with a pillow and covered her with the blanket.

Only then did he turn to pour the water.

“Western medicine should not be taken too frequently. Have you tried traditional Chinese medicine or food therapy?”

“I’ll get someone to make you ginger tea.” Dan Hanjie got out of bed, ready to go and arrange it.

She paused momentarily before quickly running up to stop his hand, panting heavily, “Are you crazy? It’s the middle of the night. If you walk out of my room now and ask a servant to make ginger tea for me, they surely will. But I swear, I won’t die from the pain, it’ll be the gossip that will kill me!”
