A random pokemon journey

To the forest

"I suppose that knowing the typing of at least one future enemies pokemon is somewhat useful." Wes said gruffly. "Now then lets get this Entei of yours purified and you two on your way." I said and they agreed. I had a lot more trouble purifying this Entei than I did the previous shadow pokemon but that was to be expected. Once I was done Wes and Rui left and I crashed out to sleep and recover from the strain the process took on me. If I had the massive reserves I used to have before my aura got a qualitative upgrade it wouldn't have been enough to make me break a sweat. -

Unfortunately I had very little energy at any given time so when I sent my energy into the Entei I had to use that small amount to deal with the entirety of the pokemons aura. It was a bit like using a pickaxe to hollow out a mountain, possible but highly inefficient. I ended up needing three days of rest before I was feeling back to normal but i can't say that the gains weren't worth it.-

My own aura reserves had grown slightly larger as a natural response to being so strained much like a muscle in a way. Purifying a shadow pokemon wasn't like using aura normally or meditating to improve the stuff but was rather the sort of growth that happened when you finish a tough fight and learn from the experience. Now it was time for me to finally head out into the relic forest to find that shrine and hopefully the Celebi itself. I wasn't going to force any of my pokemon to come with me if they absolutely didn't want to but it was pretty much unanimously agreed that we went together.-

To my surprise Gaia had apparently managed to integrate her divinity with the desert sands enough to keep the sandstorm going on it's own pretty much indefinitely. Only real downside was going to be that she wasn't going to be able to control it so the Hub was going to be a forbidden zone while we were gone. I sent out my messages to my people in the region telling them what I was doing before finally getting on Rune and setting out into the sky with Agate in mind for my destination.-

While we flew I kept an eye out on the desert in hopes of finding whatever the last oddity of the region was or the ruins the system said were here but I had no luck this time. Agate village was more defensive i suppose you could say when I arrived but I wasn't surprised given what Wes and Rui told me happened while I was gone here. Apparently Cypher had found out about the relic and it's "purification" properties and sought to destroy it as a threat to their plans. Wes was in the village at the time though and sent the peons packing near effortlessly.-

As it turned out the pokemon that got purified were the perfect canvas for him to paint a masterpiece of training and skill as they were blank slates waiting for their potential to be drawn out and oh was he good at doing so. The guy even confessed that the only reason his two long time pokemon weren't getting left behind was because they were already in sync with each other and himself so they learned just as fast as he did. It was a good sort of problem to have to be honest.-

Most trainers would kill for the same problem as for the rest of us we had to deal with the bad habits, personalities, preferences and emotions of our pokemon when training which made things less than ideal. These purified shadow pokemon didn't have these issues as they were little more than mindless drones operating on instinct and orders alone for now. Eventually they'd redevelop a sense of self and personality but for now they were nothing but raw and pure potential. Anyways after seeing that i wasn't one of the Cypher members the folks of the village let me in.-

The greenery was pleasant as always as I skipped everything and went straight to the relic and from there into the forest. The relic forest was not all that different from any other forest in this world as there was plants overgrown everywhere of all sorts of varieties. There were birds and other forms of life as well and once I got deep enough into the forest I even found traces of pokemon. The disturbing part though was that I was found that these tracks weren't so simple. They had different ages that didn't align quite right with one print looking no more than a few minutes old and another a few days old.-

It was entirely possible that whatever created these prints on the ground was in fact a pokemon that lived in the forest before the region underwent whatever change happened to stop wild pokemon from living here. 'Fucking temporal anomalies.' I thought spitefully as I had my hopes up a little. I had hoped that since this was an area clearly out of the zone that left the rest of the region so barren that I might find wild pokemon here but it seemed I was mistaken.-

What I did find however was berries and herbs galore as the pokemon that would normally keep their numbers down weren't present. I didn't harvest the things without appraising them first to see if they were safe for it and more often than not they had some sort of temporal corruption that would cause them to rot or revert to nothing when harvested. It was a fascinating sort of evolution to see and if I ever got an ability that fucked with time in some way I was definitely coming back here to hone it.-

Time was absolutely cracked out of it's mind in this forest as some parts I saw were in the middle of winter or something like that while another spot right next to it was totally normal. The part that bothered me the most however was that I didn't know when I passed through an altered time space until after I did so. Doing so gave you this odd sense of vertigo and offness that was downright nerve-wracking to experience. Still despite time being all sorts of fucked up I had my trusty compass to guide me north to the shrine that I was after.-

When I arrived it was not at all how I expected it to be. I had thought it would be a rundown place overgrown with weeds and dirty but I was VERY wrong. The surroundings of the shrine were well maintained and looked like a skilled caretaker had just finished up trimming the grass. The shrine itself was a small stone structure carved with many detailed images of events past, present and future. Within the shrine was a golden offering bowl and still lit incense burning next to it as well as a faded but clean tapestry depicting a Celebi.
