After Divorce: Pursued by Cohabiting Boss

Chapter 30: Attention Is on My Sister-in-law.

Chapter 30

Li Zhen was angry but had to hold it in. Dong Wanwan was delighted to see this.

Back in their university days, she had pursued Yu Sheng, but Yu Sheng had chosen Li Zhen instead.

So she had turned around and pursued Zhou Chaowen, because he came from the wealthiest family in the entire university.

Looking back now, she felt her choice had been the right one.

She was now a budding starlet and a wealthy madam, while Li Zhen was just a small-time hand model. So what if she had married the campus heartthrob? How could a mere worker compare to Zhou Chaowen?

Wan Zhe pulled Yu Sheng aside, and the three men went to chat and drink together.

Li Zhen felt bored and played on her phone by herself.

Dong Wanwan, on the other hand, sent a message in a group chat with three people: "Guess who I'm with right now?"

Xu Shan: "Some big celebrity?"

Yi E'sang: "Don't tell me it's that young hunk you mentioned before?"

Dong Wanwan glanced at Li Zhen: "Li Zhen."

This was their dormitory chat group from university.

The three of them had always excluded Li Zhen from it, so she wasn't in the group.

Xu Shan: "What? How are you with her?"

Dong Wanwan raised her eyebrows. She knew they would react strongly. "I heard from Chaowen that Yu Sheng invited him today."

Yi E'sang: "The campus heartthrob? They're still together?"

Xu Shan: "So her husband asked your husband for help. How the tables have turned. Back in university, the campus heartthrob acted so arrogantly..."

Yi E'sang: "Where do they work now?"

This was exactly the question Dong Wanwan was waiting for. She immediately replied: "The campus heartthrob is a sales director at a jewelry company, and Li Zhen is just a hand model."

Xu Shan: "Haha, compared to you, they're far behind."

After reading this message, Dong Wanwan put down her phone, feeling better than ever.

While chatting with the two men, Yu Sheng kept glancing over at Li Zhen.

Zhou Chaowen poured Yu Sheng another drink and said, "Brother Sheng, this won't do. You're chatting with us but keep looking over at your wife. Drink up as punishment!"

"Alright."

Yu Sheng had already drunk quite a bit.

He didn't decline this time and downed the glass in one go.

Wan Zhe teased, "Chaowen, you still don't know Brother Sheng well. Back in university, he doted on his wife like this too. But she seems much quieter today than before."

Yu Sheng swirled the glass and said, "I rarely bring her out with me these days, so she's not used to it."

"That's why, Brother Sheng, you should bring your wife out with us more often," said Zhou Chaowen. He then brought out some dice and filled over ten glasses with alcohol. "Wanwan, Sister-in-law, stop playing on your phones and come play dice with us."

Wan Zhe's excitement rose. "With Wanwan and Sister-in-law here, let's play a simple game of guessing high or low. The loser has to either answer a truth or take a dare, or drink five glasses."

The guessing game was simple. They took turns guessing the number of occurrences of a certain number that all their dice added up to. The actual number didn't matter, just the frequency. For example, if the previous person said "four sixes," the next would say "five ones," and the person after would have to say "six threes." Wan Zhe handed out the dice and shakers.

For the first round, Wan Zhe went first. "Three twos."

Zhou Chaowen: "With Sister-in-law here today, you're going easy. I say five twos."

Dong Wanwan looked at her dice. "Eight sixes."

With Dong Wanwan calling out eight, Li Zhen was put in a tough spot. She steeled herself and said, "Nine fives."

Li Zhen wasn't in the mood to play games with Yu Sheng and the others. But her competitive drive got the better of her, and she still cared about winning and losing. She had no confidence, clearly seeing that Wan Zhe and Zhou Chaowen had many twos, while Dong Wanwan had many sixes. Perhaps she was the only one with fives. She glanced at Yu Sheng, who was next.

If Yu Sheng went now, she would probably lose.

But if he didn't open his dice, he would lose himself.

Yu Sheng's long fingers tapped the shaker as he chose not to open it. "Ten ones," he said calmly.

Wan Zhe laughed. "Brother Sheng, you're intentionally losing to protect your wife. Given what we just called out, how could there possibly be ten ones?"

"Then will you open your dice?" Yu Sheng asked lightly, his eyes glancing over.

"Open!" Wan Zhe said boldly and spilled out his dice. "I don't have a single one."

Dong Wanwan: "Me neither."

Li Zhen: "I have two ones."

Zhou Chaowen grinned. "Then Brother Sheng has certainly lost. I only have two ones too."

"You two still can't keep your cool, just like in university," Yu Sheng joked. His usually cold face revealed a hint of a smile as his long fingers spilled out the dice.

Six beautiful ones.

A leopard roll.

Exactly ten.

Everyone's eyes went wide...

Wan Zhe knocked his forehead. "How could I forget Brother Sheng always dominates these games."

They had all drunk quite a bit, and the atmosphere was great. No one minded winning or losing the fun games.

"Truth or dare?" Zhou Chaowen asked Wan Zhe eagerly, pumped up.

"Truth," Wan Zhe said casually.

Zhou Chaowen took out a game app on his phone and selected Truth. It randomly generated an option that he read out loud:

"Please name the person your brother has a secret crush on."

Wan Zhe: "My only 'brothers' are the four of us from our dorm, and I haven't heard from Xue Jiao recently. One is Brother Sheng - he doesn't have a secret crush but openly adores his wife. That just leaves you... Chaowen... So I'll just say it."

Li Zhen sat quietly on the side, watching them. Under the dazzling, flashy lights of the bar, she alone exuded a pure aura, standing out from her surroundings.

Zhou Chaowen's eyes flicked to her for just 0.1 seconds before looking away again. "Nothing to say. It was so long ago... Don't say it. You drink."

Wan Zhe refused. "You just said it was so long ago yourself. And you don't like her anymore either, so what's wrong with saying it?"

Dong Wanwan considerately said, "Dear, it's fine to have liked someone else before. I won't get mad."

Zhou Chaowen started threatening, "Wan Zhe, the game's just getting started. If you lose again... you'll have to pick dare... Remember last month's dare?"

Recalling the previous dare made goosebumps rise on Wan Zhe. "Alright, alright, I won't say it. I'll drink! You'd better pray you don't lose."

After a few more rounds, Wan Zhe had enough.

He waved his hand tipsily. "Let's stop. Brother Sheng, you never open your wife's dice and you win every time. I've lost so many rounds..."

Wan Zhe had suffered quite the losing streak sitting next to Yu Sheng.

So he and Zhou Chaowen pulled Yu Sheng aside to drink together separately.

Li Zhen hadn't drunk any alcohol, just a lot of juice.

She got up and asked a server where the restroom was, then headed over through the crowd. After washing her hands on her way back, Dong Wanwan blocked her path.

"Li Zhen, we were dormmates for so many years but have barely spoken to each other in front of everyone today?" Dong Wanwan smiled gently.

Her expression blatantly said "I'm here to feel superior."

Li Zhen curled her lip. "My memory's not so great recently. Did I give you face in front of them just now?"

"As if I need you to give me face? Li Zhen, look what you've become after graduation," Dong Wanwan's smile instantly faded.

Her virtue and propriety were just an act for her wealthy husband to see.

Alone with Li Zhen, Dong Wanwan resumed her university attitude.

"Where do you get your sense of superiority? Got a link? Share it with me too," Li Zhen didn't really understand Dong Wanwan. Everyone was having fun, yet she insisted on spoiling things.

Dong Wanwan's expression froze for a second before smiling again. "Yes, my husband gives me the confidence for my sense of superiority. After all, I married into a wealthy family, while you..."

Li Zhen: "Let me teach you something for free. Cow dung is cow dung. No matter how you cook it, it won't become a meat bun."

"You... Li Zhen, you're just jealous of me, grapes are sour because you can't reach them," Dong Wanwan hated most how Li Zhen always remained unruffled.

Even back in university when everyone shunned Li Zhen, she had still laughed every day, even seeming the happiest.

Li Zhen thought for a moment. "Yes, jealous. Jealous of the plastered makeup on your face, jealous of your empty head, jealous of your awful acting..."

"Pff..."

A passing woman couldn't help but laugh. She glanced at Dong Wanwan and whispered to her companion, "Isn't that woman really that Dong...something or other, the one with the awful acting..."

Dong Wanwan was startled. Before she could get angry, she hurriedly put on her mask.

Li Zhen was too lazy to keep talking and wanted to leave.

Dong Wanwan raised her hand to stop her. "Li Zhen, stand right there..."

"A good dog won't block the road!" Li Zhen waved her hand dismissively.

Slap!

Dong Wanwan's watch fell to the ground, and the exquisite dial shattered into pieces, scattering the twelve diamond chips inside all over the floor.

Dong Wanwan's face changed dramatically. "Li Zhen! I spent 320,000 on that pink diamond watch!"

Li Zhen: ......Oh no!
