After Simulating a Million Years, I Became the Holy Emperor of the Human Race

Chapter 11: Taking another Disciple

Half a month had passed since the Wang family of Demon Suppressing City was destroyed. Their property was quickly annexed by the City Lord's Mansion and the other two major families.

As usual, Gu Changsheng set up his stall, placing a rag on the ground with a sign that read, "Ten thousand high-grade source crystals to solve one problem." In the past two weeks, except for the first day when he met a distant relative from the Gu family, he hadn’t had any customers.

Gu Changsheng didn't mind the lack of business. He believed that fate and "Yuan" status determined everything. If someone paid him ten thousand high-grade source crystals, he could achieve anything, even helping that person become immortal. Unfortunately, no one had taken up his offer.

"Pity… They're all a bunch of short-sighted people," Gu Changsheng muttered, reaching for his wine bottle, only to find it empty. "Alas, we’ll have to wait until Hong Hong wins the competition to get more source crystals," he sighed, thinking about the potential reward.

He took out a piece of jade he had received from Gu Xichao, examining it with curiosity. The jade, though unremarkable in appearance, did not belong to this universe, called the World of Red Dust. It contained immense power, but because it was foreign, it was blocked by the heavenly laws of this world. If its power were fully unleashed, it would rival a blow from a Quasi-Emperor.

Just then, a young man dressed in white, carrying a black rectangular box, approached. The youth, with sword-like eyebrows and starry eyes, exuded a subtle sense of sword intent. He knelt down and looked at Gu Changsheng curiously.

"Boy, haven’t you seen a handsome guy before?" Gu Changsheng said calmly, putting away the jade, though surprised at encountering another one with a special physique in this small city. The first was his descendant, Gu Xiruo, with the Taiyin Holy Body. The second was this young man with a natural sword bone.

The young man's eyes showed a trace of contempt, and he muttered, "I've never seen such a narcissistic person."

"Yo ho!" Gu Changsheng chuckled. This was the first time someone had looked at him with such disdain. "Boy, what's your name?"

"Li Beifei," the young man blurted out, quickly covering his mouth in surprise. He had intended to say it was none of Gu Changsheng’s business.

"Do you have any source crystals?" Gu Changsheng asked.

"Yes, but not many. Only a few hundred mid-grade source crystals," Li Beifei said, again unable to control his words. His shock turned to fear, realizing that the man in front of him could control his speech.

"Oh?" Gu Changsheng's eyes lit up. He threw his empty wine bottle to Li Beifei and said, "Boy, I’ll give you a chance to honor me. Go to Zuixianju and fill this with Zuixian Brew."

Despite wanting to protest, Li Beifei’s feet moved towards Zuixianju on their own. "Several hundred mid-grade source crystals... One mid-grade source crystal makes a pot. Hundreds of pots are enough to last me half a year," Gu Changsheng calculated, shamelessly appropriating Li Beifei’s source crystals for himself.

Soon, Li Beifei returned with a flask full of Drunken Immortal Brew. Reluctantly, he handed it over, his expression aggrieved. Gu Changsheng took it with a smile. Seeing the dissatisfaction in the young man’s eyes, he asked, "Do you think I used some trick to control you?"

Li Beifei remained silent, but his expression told Gu Changsheng everything.

Gu Changsheng smiled faintly. He stretched out his hand and waved gently, causing the black sword box on Li Beifei's back to fly into his hand.

Li Beifei's expression changed drastically. His aura at the peak of Yue Fan exploded, and his long hair fluttered. But Gu Changsheng ignored him and instead examined the black sword box. An invisible light flashed when the box was in his hand, and a trace of memory flickered in Gu Changsheng's eyes. After a while, he tossed the sword box back to Li Beifei.

"Practice well and don’t let it down," Gu Changsheng said.

Li Beifei quickly secured the sword box on his back, but his heart was full of doubts and vigilance. Gu Changsheng seemed to know the origin of the sword box, which was called the Seven-Star Sword Box. When Li Beifei was young, he had nearly drowned in a river, but the sword box had emerged from the water and saved him. He had never told anyone about this, so how could Gu Changsheng know?

Li Beifei had been only fourteen when he almost drowned. Since then, he had learned simple sword skills from the box and had rapidly advanced in his training. In less than two years, he had reached the peak of transcendence, a feat that would take most people over a decade. The Seven-Star Sword Box was indeed extraordinary.

He had come to Demon Suppressing City to participate in the arena competition, not to join the Yin Yang Sect, but to win the ten thousand high-grade source crystals needed for breaking through to the Concentration Realm.

"Boy, become my disciple!" Gu Changsheng said suddenly.

"Huh?" Li Beifei was confused, but before he could react, the sword box on his back emitted a burst of energy, causing him to kneel in front of Gu Changsheng. The box then tapped his head three times.

"Those who know the current situation are heroes," Gu Changsheng said. "Since you’ve become my disciple, I’ll keep your source crystals safe from thieves."

Before Li Beifei, still kneeling, could protest, Gu Changsheng took the hundreds of mid-grade source crystals he had.

"You..." Li Beifei started.

"What 'you'? Call me Master!" Gu Changsheng slapped him on the head.

"I haven't accepted it yet..."

"Huh?" Gu Changsheng's eyes narrowed dangerously. "It seems you need more 'education'."

He proceeded to teach Li Beifei a painful lesson. Afterward, Li Beifei lay on the ground, bruised and swollen, attracting strange looks from passersby.

Gu Changsheng chuckled. "Just educating my rebellious disciple. Haha, let's go."

The onlookers quickly dispersed, not wanting to interfere in the matters between a master and his disciple.

Li Beifei, lying motionless, opened his eyes, which were blackened from the beating, and looked at Gu Changsheng with an aggrieved expression.

"Call me Master," Gu Changsheng urged.

Afraid of another beating, Li Beifei shouted, "Master!"

"Good boy. If only you had been obedient from the start," Gu Changsheng said shamelessly. "Now, let's see who dared to beat you up."

Li Beifei burst into tears at Gu Changsheng's audacity. He regretted his curiosity about the sign promising to solve problems for ten thousand high-grade source crystals. If he had known, he would never have approached.

"Xiao Bei, close the stall," Gu Changsheng ordered. With money for wine, there was no need to keep the stall open.

Li Beifei looked at the stall, which consisted only of a rag with some dried blood on it. "What stall?"

"Pah!" Gu Changsheng slapped him again. "You look down on this emperor’s shroud as your master?"

"No, I don’t dare," Li Beifei quickly put away the rag, valuing his life over questioning the rag's origin.

"What are you dawdling for? Follow me," Gu Changsheng called.

Li Beifei considered running but realized Gu Changsheng's unpredictability made escape futile. Besides, without his source crystals, he would be destitute. Resigned, he followed Gu Changsheng.
