“Goodbye, Daniel,” Xia Zhe said as he looked at Daniel.

“Oh, yes. Goodbye,” Daniel said nonchalantly. Given Xia Zhe’s attitude to his elder sister just now, he had already shown enough restraint by not taking it up with Xia Zhe.

Qiao Mei suddenly thought that Daniel was indeed Jessica’s younger brother. Each one of his expressions was done so well that no one could see any flaws.

“Come, come! There are still many cars ahead! I have some of the latest models!” Daniel said happily to Qiao Mei.

Just as Daniel was about to lead Qiao Mei away, Xia Zhe suddenly said, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to do that to your elder sister. I really can’t marry her. I just want her to lose interest in me.”

“Alright, I understand. I’m not going to get involved in the matter between you and my sister. If you want to apologize, go and look for her yourself,” Daniel said coldly.

“I hope that we can still be friends. I’ve always treated Jessica like my younger sister,” Xia Zhe said.

“Younger sister? There are only the two of us siblings in our family. We don’t need an elder brother,” Daniel said disdainfully.

Qiao Mei felt like giving Daniel a thumbs up. As expected of Jessica’s younger brother, his attitude was exactly the same as hers. Anyone who saw the two of them would know that they were related by blood!

Xia Zhe stood at the same spot and did not make any move to leave. Qiao Mei understood what he meant and immediately said to Daniel, “I think all your cars are too expensive. How about this, you go and ask your elder sister for 120,000 dollars. Since she loves you so much, she will definitely give you the money, right?”

“Love me? My sister loves that man! She doesn’t have eyes for me now,” Daniel said.

“Really? Do you mean your elder sister really likes him!” Qiao Mei whispered.

Daniel said confidently, “Yes, I know my sister very well. If she says she likes something, it doesn’t necessarily mean that she likes it. But if she says she doesn’t want something, then she really cares about it.”

“Then your elder sister meant the opposite of what she said before she left!” Qiao Mei said as she pretended to be shocked.

Daniel twirled the car keys with his fingers and said casually, “More or less. Hey man, listen up. Don’t contact my sister for the time being and don’t apologize to her. She’s probably thinking about the best way to get hold of you now.”

“Why are you helping me?” Xia Zhe asked.

“Because I don’t like you. I don’t want a person like you to be my brother-in-law,” Daniel said very bluntly.

“That’s really my… good fortune,” Xia Zhe lamented softly.

Qiao Mei grabbed Daniel and asked, “What will your elder sister do to him? Do you have any ideas?”

After spending a good amount of time with Qiao Mei, this was the first time Daniel saw such an excited expression on her face. Since Qiao Mei was so interested in Jessica’s affairs, there was no harm in talking about it. Anyway, if Jessica wanted Xia Zhe, she would do whatever it took to get him.

“In the beginning, my sister wanted to force him into submission, but she realized that he did not fall for it at all. Then, she came up with the idea of having a fake marriage and making him fall in love with her as time passed. My sister had even thought about which school she wanted to send her child to in the future. I accidentally overheard her talking about it that day and I really can’t understand her. In the past, there were many handsome men who wooed her, but why does she only have eyes for this man!” Daniel said helplessly.

Qiao Mei had exactly the same idea as Jessica back then, but she had taken more drastic actions. She chose a method which guaranteed that Xia Zhe had no choice but to marry her.

There was the sudden roar of a car outside the door. When Daniel saw the approaching car, he instantly stood up straight and froze like a frightened quail.

An imposing man got out of the car and Qiao Mei covered her mouth in surprise. The man in front of her looked like a statue she had seen before! That statue in the middle of the square of the agricultural university!

“Are you going off already? Have you confirmed the wedding date with Jessica?” Alan said as he looked at Xia Zhe with a kindly expression.

“I’m very sorry, Mr. Alan. I really can’t marry Miss Jessica. I only treat her like a younger sister and I don’t have any other feelings for her,” Xia Zhe said.

Alan’s expression darkened. He looked at Xia Zhe sternly but did not say anything. Daniel pointed at Qiao Mei and said fearfully, “Father, this is Miss Pu. She’s the one who saved me. She…”

Before Daniel could finish, Alan interrupted him and said, “That’s why I’m back.”

Daniel tugged at Qiao Mei, wanting to get away quickly. Qiao Mei immediately ran to a black Rolls-Royce sports car and stopped, saying, “I’ll take this one.”

Daniel’s smile disappeared and Alan also looked in Qiao Mei’s direction. This car was much more expensive than the red sports car. It was at least double the price!
