America 1881: Legend of the West

Chapter 52 Chinatown Ambush

Officer Fultz was woken up early in the morning by his subordinates.

"Boss, something happened on the west side of the city. The congressman was killed and hung from a street lamp."

Fultz got up in a hurry and accidentally touched his injured arm, which made him sweat from the pain.

But how could such a thing happen without him?

Unlike some law enforcement officers in the West who muddle along and eat nothing, he has always hated evil, which became his original intention of organizing this mounted police force.

"Didn't that group of people escape an old Mexican man the day before yesterday? He came back to take revenge? But no matter how much revenge he took, it couldn't be counted on that little-known congressman." Fultz was full of doubts.

"Not sure, but the Denver Police Chief did not request our assistance."

"Hmph." Fultz snorted. He knew what these people were thinking, but he didn't care. It was his bounden duty to send the villains to hell.

"Let's go, let the brothers pack their equipment and go." Fultz declined the subordinates who came to help him, and packed his clothes and equipment with one hand.

When he arrived at the headquarters, he found that his subordinates were all ready to go.

"Brothers, the work is here again."

There was an excited whistle and the sound of a revolver spinning around, and a group of tigers and wolves headed towards the west of the city.

When they were halfway through the journey, they suddenly received news of a riot in Chinatown in the east of the city.

In Fultz's opinion, the Irish and Chinese should all be shot.

When it happened last year, he was out chasing a train robbery gang.

After returning, he immediately caught a group of Irish and Chinese people who were making trouble.

But that group of Irishmen were released from the Denver Police Department before they could even sit down, which made him itch with hatred.

"These brats are going to fall into my hands again." Fultz licked his lips.

So they turned their horses and galloped towards the east of the city.

As he approached Chinatown, Fultz was observing the situation on the street attentively. Suddenly, a group of panicked people came across from the opposite side. They were all in pieces, some were limping, and some were bleeding from their heads.

Aren't these the Irish?

"Stop it! Arrest the leaders." Fultz was overjoyed.

Several mounted policemen tried to surround them, and Fultz fired a shot into the sky, but the group seemed to be frightened and ran forward without any regard.

A mounted policeman caught a man who had lost his shoes while running, grabbed him by the collar, and asked:

"Where's your leader?"

"Dead! All dead!"

"All dead?"

"There is a devil at that corner! God, save us, I beg you, don't pull me, don't pull me." The man struggled to shake off the mounted policeman who was holding him by the collar, and stumbled forward. go.

Fultz dismounted, kicked another man running behind, and pointed a gun at his head:

"Tell me clearly, what happened?"

The legs of the man lying on the ground shook, and the pants between his legs were wet.

"Say it!"

"It's the Chinese on the bounty list, that's him, he's not a human!"

Fultz was startled for a moment, then showed a perverted smile. He got back on his horse and said, "Let them go, let's go arrest them."

When the mounted police arrived at the intersection of Chinatown, the scene was a bit tragic.

There were corpses lying on the ground. Some corpses were not even complete. Their other parts, such as hands or heads, fell to other places.

The ground on the street was stained red with blood, which even these experienced mounted policemen were a little shocked by.

The streets at this time were deserted.

"All ran away?" Fultz was a little confused.

He dismounted and turned around, but found no traces of bullets. In other words, the opponent did not have a gun. The corpses on the scene were all killed by the knife.

"Mount your horse and chase!"

Fultz took the lead, and he had an excitement he had never experienced before. This excitement was exactly what he had been looking for.

The more ferocious criminals, the more ferocious gangsters, they are demons, then they themselves are the archangels of justice.

For a moment a herd of horses galloped over the bodies and galloped through Chinatown.

The mounted policemen held Winchester repeating rifles and stared vigilantly at the deserted street ahead, ready to take a shot at any enemy who appeared.

But they did not wait for their target ahead,

"crash"

When the last two horses of the Mounted Police passed a second-story tailor shop, a wooden window on the second floor shattered.

A figure broke out of the window. He held a cleaver in both hands, fell from the second floor, and slashed at the mounted policeman at the end of the queue.

Chen Jianqiu fell to the ground like a meteor, splitting the mounted policeman in half with one knife.

The horse was frightened and pushed the body and Chen Jianqiu to the ground. Chen Jianqiu rolled to the ground holding the horse-cutting knife. He handed the knife out and used its inertia to swing it out and cut off the leg of the other horse.

In an instant, blood flowed like a torrent, and people fell on their backs.

The mounted police team in front had already reacted. They found that the rear of the team was under attack. They all reined in their horses and shot at Chen Jianqiu.

Chen Jianqiu originally wanted to pick up a gun, but the reaction speed of this group of fierce mounted policemen exceeded his expectations. Even the mounted policeman who fell to the ground and was pinned down by the horse immediately touched the gun at his waist.

He had no choice but to roll on the ground again, half-rising up, using his legs, and jumped towards the entrance of the alley on the street.

The bullets fired at him sent up streaks of smoke on the ground behind him.

Chen Jianqiu suddenly felt his arm being bitten by something. He ignored it and hid in the alley.

"He has entered the alley! Surround him!"

Fultz directed several people to outflank him from the other side, leaving two people to help the mounted policeman who was pinned under his horse, while the rest followed him.

Chen Jianqiu ran all the way in the alley, and when he saw a turning place, he tried to turn as much as possible.

However, he suddenly felt that the big knife in his hand was getting heavier and heavier. When he looked down, he saw that his arm was bleeding.

Oops, got shot.

Chen Jianqiu decisively threw away the big knife, tore off a corner of his inner lining, bit it in his mouth, and bandaged his wounds while running.

Now he is truly unarmed. He was really stupid for not getting a gun just now.

The pursuers behind him didn't know whether they had taken a shortcut or for some other reason, but they were gradually approaching. Chen Jianqiu could even hear their footsteps.

The first of them had already seen Chen Jianqiu's back, raised his hand and shot him.

Chen Jianqiu found a corner ahead. He stepped forward, made a sharp turn, turned in, and dodged the bullet.

But when he just turned around, he caught a glimpse of two figures standing at the intersection with his peripheral vision.

The two men raised the guns in their hands and aimed in Chen Jianqiu's direction.

Chen Jianqiu subconsciously prepared to duck down, but when he saw the faces of these two people clearly, a smile appeared on his lips.

"If you two come here later, I'm going to have to deal with you here."

A shotgun was thrown.

"Boss! Take the shot!"
