Chapter 75 - funeral

The more humane the shepherd dog, the more aroused Benny’s interest.

Benny forcibly broke his head and stared at himself.

“Why don’t you eat it? Don’t you like this? Would you like me to change you something else? How about steak?”

After a while, Benny came out with the freshly fried steak, and brought back the shepherd dog that was hovering at the door.

“Are you looking for the toilet?”

As he said, Benny came to the forest behind with the collie, and just let go, the collie swooped into the wood.

“Hey!”

Benny was a little worried, and ran after him.

This shepherd dog, Benny, has seen it several times in the bar next door, and it was raised by Sam. Sam was treated as a baby on weekdays, and he almost never let anyone touch him. There are traps set by Terry in the woods of the back mountain. In case he is stepped on by a shepherd dog, Benny feels that he can’t face the angry Sam at all.

One person and one dog ran in the front and chased in the back, and they soon ran around most of Hawkins town. Finally, the shepherd stopped by the lake.

“You–you can really run–this is–how long has it been since this–“

Benny said breathlessly.

The shepherd stuck his tongue out, looked at Benny helplessly, and squatted down.

Just when Benny moved lightly in front of the shepherd dog and was about to reach out and hug him, a huge force came from behind and pushed Benny directly into the lake.

A small deer stood where Benny had stood, yelled twice at the shepherd dog, and turned and went into the woods.

Benny emerged from the lake, only to see a deer and a dog go into the woods and disappear.

“It’s really haunted by tm!”

Benny muttered to himself and wiped the water off his face.

He didn’t rush up. With such a superb IQ of this dog, Benny felt that even if he drowned, he wouldn’t have any problems.

It just so happened that the weather in August was very hot and the lake was very cool. Benny planned to swim in the water for a while before going back.

Early the next morning.

Benny, who was sleeping on the sofa, stretched and got up to wash.

Last night he had been soaking in the water until early in the morning before coming back. After taking a casual shower, he fell asleep on the lazy couch.

As for the dog, he had long been left behind.

After washing, Benny opened the window and breathed in the fresh air. He stretched out halfway and stopped abruptly.

He widened his eyes and watched Sam holding the hand of an unfamiliar woman. The two ran out naked from the woods on the back mountain, passed the back door of Benny’s house, ran into the bar next door, and disappeared.

“What else did I miss?” Benny murmured, maintaining a stretched posture, “Is everything so open?”

After breakfast, the restaurant did not open today. Benny put on a black suit and drove to Su Qi’s house.

Today is Adele’s funeral.

When Benny arrived, most of the people at the funeral had already arrived, the seats were almost filled, and the pastor was preparing for it, and it was about to begin.

Sam sitting in the first row beckoned to Benny, who was looking aside, and pointed to the empty chair beside him.

Benny hesitated for a moment, seeing that he couldn’t find another empty seat, so he had to bite the bullet and sit next to Sam.

Sam smiled friendly at Benny.

Benny originally wanted to smile back with a friendly smile, but thinking of the scene he saw in the morning, he couldn’t laugh at all.

“Are you going to speak in a while?”

Sam leaned over and asked in a low voice.

Benny pulled away subconsciously and nodded stiffly.

Sam looked inexplicable, not knowing which wind Benny smoked today.

“Have you seen Su Qi?”

“Did you see Jason?”

“Where is Tyra?”

“Where did Tyra go yesterday?”

“Why doesn’t Tyra be with Su Qi?”

Sam asked endlessly, and Benny looked back and saw that there was indeed no seat, so he had to endure it.

Fortunately, Su Qi Jason arrived soon, and Sam’s attention was drawn to Su Qi, and finally he no longer bothered Benny. This gave Benny a sigh of relief.

Why didn’t he know that Sam, who seemed to be honest, had a hobby of streaking?

Sure enough, people can’t look good, and the sea can’t be measured!

The priest clapped his hands, and a fat woman stepped forward and opened her mouth to sing a funeral song. The people attending the funeral below calmed down.

The sun was just right, Adele’s cemetery was selected in the shade of a tree, and the fine spots of light fell on the grass, accompanied by the breeze, and the gentle and melodious singing, soothing people’s restless hearts.

After the funeral song was sung, Terry was already in tears, unable to cry, sadder than Su Qi and Jason, and the crowd began to commotion again.

“Lord, we are here today to reminisce about the life of Adele Stackhouse…”

The pastor’s low voice sounded, pulling people away from Terry’s cry.

“…Even if we are in deep grief, we still have to feel relieved, because at this moment she is peacefully in heaven…”

The pastor read the manuscript affectionately, and an old man in a wheelchair walked up from the side and once again attracted people’s attention.

Su Qi, who was sitting at the far left of the first row, looked a little surprised. After taking a deep look at the old man, she looked back.

“Is he invited by you?”

Su Qi asked Jason beside her in a low voice.

“What?” Jason nodded and said naturally, “He is grandma’s younger brother, and he has the right to attend grandma’s funeral.”

“Do you know what he has done!”

Su Qi called out loudly.

The priest’s voice stopped, and everyone’s eyes shifted from the old man to Su Qi again.

Su Qi was a little dazed, and a little flustered, she stood up and was about to leave. Fortunately, Tyra held her by her side.

“This is grandma’s funeral!”

Tyra snorted and pulled Su Qi, who seemed to be in a state of confusion, back to reality.

Su Qi sat down again and nodded at the priest pretending to be calm.

“Now, Suki Stackhouse has something to say.”

“Honey? Do you want to say a few words?” The priest looked at Su Qi.

Su Qi nodded, got up and came to the stage, took out a manuscript from her bag, and read it.

At first, she seemed to be affected by the elderly in a wheelchair. She was a little incoherent and stumbled on the manuscript.

“…I think I will miss her endlessly…”

“…For everyone who knows her…”

“…Not just me, but…”

Su Qi looked at the people below and suddenly collapsed and yelled

“Shut up! Shut your stinky mouths for me!!!”

Everyone was stunned, crying, chatting, fanning, everyone stopped and looked at her quietly.

Su Qi opened her mouth in a panic, turned and left the funeral.

Jason and Tyra looked at each other, got up and ran after him.

The pastor watched in astonishment as the three of them left one after another, then walked onto the stage with a dry cough.

“So, who else wants to come up to give a eulogy?”

Benny glanced at the rioting crowd in the rear, got up and walked forward.

As he got closer, Benny could see the obvious relief on the priest’s face. He nodded slightly at the priest and stood on the stage.

“This passage represents not only me, but also my good friend, Jim Hope, please forgive him, because of certain things, he was unable to attend Adele’s funeral.”

“Adele Stackhouse, I am not very familiar with her, or when I grew up, Hope and I came back from the outside and gradually alienated her…”
