Batman in the MCU

Public Outrage

A ding sound was made as an elevator door opened up, the people in the room turned their gazes to the entrance to see who it was. Their tense postures relaxed however once they saw the man dressed in King Industries security uniform.

As the others went back to minding their own business, Green Goblin began to laugh "Hehehe, did you get it?" The man simply walked passed him and towards a PC. "The internets down" Kraven spoke up once he saw this.

"I know. What I intend to do however does not require the internet" With those words the man connected a drive to the PC, soon enough the screen was filled with numerous files but the man ignored all but one. A wide grin formed on his face once he saw the folders label.

'Babel Protocol'

Clicking on it revealed files on all the avengers with even some supers who had not joined the team as well as others he didn't know exist.

"You truly haven't changed... Bruce".

With news of what had happened in Sokovia as well as what Batman had done spread to the public. It was absolute chaos with everyone equal parts pissed off and scared, first there was the fact that a super bot was created by the Avengers and that bot had caused near irreparable damage to a nation in its quest for world domination.

One of the avengers had shut down the internet, something most did not even think possible. Unlike the masses however to the people in power it was not so much he shutting down the internet but what it meant.

The fact that he could do that whenever he so felt like it demonstrated just how much control he had over it. And if he could have that much control with no one being the wiser left them with a stinging question what else did he have control over, worst of all unlike other members of the avengers his identity still remained a secret.

This led to calls from all over demanding answers.

Batman however decided to ignore everything and return to New York. Sure Talos would probably be able to figure who he was due to the conversation he had with him, but Batman had means to deal with the Skrull and the rest of its kind Fury had helped to hide on earth.

Also his scare tactics was sure to stop that imposter from appearing and pretending to be Maria before him anymore.

The others could deal with the politicking he had real issues to deal with, the streets of New York were not going to clean themselves.

A few months after everything a rudimentary version was up and running curtesy of Tony Stark. That had served to partially close the rift between the Avengers and the public, they still received harsh critique from the world with Batman however things were worse as a full movement for him to unmask himself as well as face accountability for his actions.

To which Batman merely scoffed.

******

*huff* huff* a man let out heavy pants as he dived into an abandoned apartment building. It was supposed to be a simple job but then they had to run into him, not one of the ones which had popped up with that god dammed symbol on their chest but the actual freaking Batman.

Wasn't the guy supposed to be fighting Aliens and Robots or something, why the hell was he after them. Any way he should be safe here, the man thought to himself as he kept stepping back.

*thud* a small thud was heard as his back hit something. His heart skipped a beat at that, slowly turning around he saw the demon looking down at him. Letting out a scream he attempted to run away, as he took a few steps however he felt some sort of wire across his ankles.

The wire went taut as he fell straight to the ground, letting out a grunt he tried to stand when he was dragged back to the darkness to meet the Batman "No, no, no, please no, I'm begging... argh!!"

Bats appeared in the alley with the criminal tightly tied up with his body covered in bruises, his exit coincided with the arrival of the police who after seeing him drew out their weapons. "Drop the guy and put your arms up!" One of the officers exclaimed as Batman observed the other speak into his walkie-talkie to request backup.

Looking at this scene, Batman found it both funny and nostalgic. It was like this when he started out, and now with the government against him *sigh* Batman tossed the guy towards them before using his grappling hook to get out of there
