Xiao Ning was curious; they weren't expecting anyone. Two beautiful figures flashed in his mind, but Xiao Ning shook his head. 'It can't be them,' he thought to himself.
He clearly remembered the disappointment on Xue Mei and Lin Fei's faces at the end of the day after he straightforwardly rejected them.

Xiao Ning's brows pressed together after he heard the man. He thought for a second and nodded. Xiao Ning asked him to wait for a moment and closed the door.

Xiao Ning felt there was something fishy about the whole situation; yet, he pressed down his worries, shook his head, and said, "Everything is fine, don't worry."

"Un!" Xi Yian nodded. She looked into his eyes and said, "I...."
Xiao Ning interrupted her; he smiled and gently touched her silky hair.

"Yes, senior." The man nodded, and both walked out of the hotel.
He pointed at the carriage outside the hotel and politely gestured Xiao Ning to sit.
Xiao Ning stepped into the carriage and sat. While he remained calm and composed, the suspicion in his heart grew.
Still, Xiao Ning played along; he wanted to know if someone was plotting against him or if he was just a pawn in someone's plan.
In a couple of minutes, the carriage stopped in front of the alchemist association's building.

"I came to meet my teacher," She responded casually.
The smile on Xiao Ning's face grew wider, and he said, "What a coincidence, Grandmaster Ao Tuo sent him to call me." He raised his hand and pointed towards the man standing behind his back.
After hearing their conversation, the second-tier alchemist became nervous, and his face paled. He looked at Xiao Ning's defenseless back, and a murderous intent grew in his mind.
Lin Fei heard Xiao Ning's words and finally looked at the alchemist standing behind him. A look of doubt appeared on her face, and she asked, "The teacher's office is in the opposite direction; why are you leading Xiao Ning towards this end?"
The next second, Lin Fei saw the latter's actions and shouted in a hurry, "Xiao Ning! Be careful." She saw the middle-aged alchemist had taken out a dagger, and he rushed forward to stab Xiao Ning in the back.
