...

Verethragna's veins bulged, his eyes blazing with fury. "I realized it when you dodged my 'Boar.' You dispersed the magical energy of the avatar momentarily, then re-condensed it around your Authority, didn't you? That's how you evaded my attack."

In Japan, at the Kasugano residence.

The silver-haired young man and the silver-haired beauty lay asleep in each other's arms, naked.

Haru, comfortably embracing Sora, suddenly opened his eyes. "..."

Sora rubbed her sleepy face. "What's wrong, Haru?"

"Nothing serious. I can handle it." Haru gazed tenderly at Sora's flushed face and kissed her forehead.

In Sardinia, under the dark, oppressive sky.

Haru's floating avatar flickered erratically, as if losing signal.

Erica stared in shock at the three figures in the standoff. "...So that's the truth behind his elusive nature. Haru never left Japan. All the sightings around the world were his Authority avatars. Is this the power of the so-called strongest on Earth? But this is ridiculously strong!"

Haru's avatar vanished instantly, then re-materialized beside Erica. "Erica, things are getting a bit out of hand."

Verethragna and Melqart turned their attention towards them.

Erica gulped, looking at the two gods whose faces were darker than the night sky. "I can tell they're furious. I wouldn't be surprised if they do something drastic in their divine forms."

Haru looked at the two Heretic Gods with a troubled expression. "My avatars usually face only one god at a time, so I can handle them easily. I even managed to win against these two four days ago. But now Verethragna has that golden sword that interferes with my magical energy transmission!"

Erica smacked her forehead in frustration. "If you could only barely win, you should have sent your true body here immediately! What have you been doing for the past four days?!"

"I was busy with a girl. My sister got angry, and I had to appease her. I couldn't just leave," Haru said, spreading his hands helplessly and shrugging.

Thinking of the lecher beside her, who didn't even spare his own sister, Erica's face darkened. "Well, figure something out, and fast! I don't want to die here!"

"...I'll disperse this avatar. Using possession, I can temporarily grant you the Authority of the Mountain, maybe for an hour. Then I'll send a few more avatars. Just hold out until they arrive!" Haru said apologetically, looking at his newly acquired knight.

"More avatars? Can I resign, Your Majesty?" Erica's face was dark, her body radiating a menacing aura.

"...Only an elemental avatar can arrive within an hour. My true body will be later. Calm down, calm down," Haru said, his forehead dripping with cold sweat as he tried to placate the furious Erica.

Erica summoned Cuore di Leone, glaring at Haru with resentment. "If I die, I'll come back to haunt you for the rest of your life!"

In the crater, Melqart pondered with a grim expression.

"God of War! After using Resurrection, I have little divine power left. Killing this avatar would be satisfying, but it wouldn't be a significant loss for that damned Devil King. So, I'll leave this to you."

Melqart's body slowly sank into the seabed, and his furious roar echoed towards Haru and Erica.

"Your true body is in the Far East, isn't it? When I've recovered, I will sink you and your territory to the bottom of the ocean to erase the humiliation I, Melqart, suffered today!"

Verethragna nodded in understanding, tightening his grip on the golden sword as he turned to face Haru. "This humiliation is etched into my memory. This is the first time, even in the distant past, battling against the divine host, that I have suffered such a disgrace. After I kill this avatar, I will go to the Far East and destroy your true body!"

Suddenly, black lightning appeared.

A bolt of black lightning descended from the sky, striking Verethragna.

Verethragna stared at the black lightning in shock. "This is... a divine curse?"

It was like a convergence of curses, lightning filled with hatred and lamenting consciousness.

Even Haru and Erica, standing on the ground, could sense the immense hatred within it, a hatred that seemed to want to bury the world.

"Holy crap, which god has this much resentment?" Haru and Erica gaped at Verethragna, who was now engulfed in black lightning.

"Now, Godou, use the Prometheus Secret Text!" A female voice shouted. A figure appeared.

Haru, Erica, and the bound Verethragna turned towards the voice. On the opposite side of the crater, a young man with a black cat perched on his head held a stone tablet aloft.

"Is that the country bumpkin magician from yesterday?" Erica stared at the boy in astonishment.

Haru gaped at the boy. Kusanagi Godou? Holy crap, plot inertia? That's insane! He actually found an opportunity? Wait!!!

"Damn it, he's stealing my kill! You bastard!!"

"It's you! Hahahaha! As I thought, I wasn't mistaken. You are a worthy warrior!" Verethragna stared at Kusanagi Godou, then burst into laughter.

Kusanagi Godou's body was covered in wounds, his shirt riddled with holes, blood flowing profusely from his abdomen, as if pierced by something sharp.

"Hold on, warrior or not, you threw me into the mountains! I barely escaped, and now I'm caught in your fight and half-dead! I don't want to die!" Kusanagi Godou yelled, his forehead throbbing with veins as he glared at the laughing figure in the sky.

Had it been easy for him? He had been surviving in the wilderness for a day, got caught in the crossfire, fell into a crater caused by the earthquake, and a rock had pierced his abdomen. He was about to be buried alive when Lucretia Zola's familiar, the highest witch of Sardinia, found him and saved him. But...

Five minutes earlier.

Zola's familiar, a black cat, sat beside Kusanagi Godou, whom she had just dug out with magic. "I'm so sorry, Ichirou's grandson. I've dragged you into this. How am I going to face Ichirou now?"

Kusanagi Godou coughed up a bloody piece of flesh. "Why... am I so unlucky?"

"I'm sorry. My magical energy is depleted. I can't use healing magic. And it's too late to go back for a potion," the black cat said apologetically. If only she had found him sooner, things wouldn't have come to this.

"Don't give up! Think of something!" Kusanagi Godou thought, exasperated. He didn't understand magic or potions, but she could at least call for help! Why was she just muttering to herself?!

The black cat pondered, then noticed Kusanagi Godou's backpack lying beside him and the stone tablet within. She looked up at the giant boar in the sky. "The game's opening is surprisingly good. I have an idea. Are you willing to gamble?"

End of flashback.

"Activate!" Kusanagi Godou gripped the Prometheus Secret Text, his arm veins bulging.

The Secret Text emitted a black glow, and the figure of a white horse was pulled from Verethragna's body.

Then, a miniature sun rose from the earth.

"Damn, the Eighth has been born!" Haru muttered, his face filled with frustration. The prize he had been eyeing had just flown away.
