Celia: After Dying in the Apocalypse, I Live Once Again!

Volume 4. Chapter 82: My Other Wife… (Chapter 383)

Chapter 82: My Other Wife…

(Ria’s POV)

Amelie: “Nina? What brings you and Ria here?” She asked with a smile.

Nina: “Ria was most likely attacked, and it seems that her memories are lost.” She explained with a grim tone.

Amelie: “…”

Ria: “…”

Why is Amelie here? That can’t be right… What? Since when did the dimension that I put her in just not exist anymore? That means that this Amelie is the real one. Again, was this God’s doing?

God: “What the fuck?… Why is Amelia here!?” She exclaimed after appearing out of nowhere.

Oh, so she was confused as well, huh… If this wasn’t her doing, then it could only be either Sava or the Will. Why would either of them help us out like this, though? After this dimension, only Ruina is the last one that I need to find and save…

Amelie: “Is that true, Ria?” She asked with a concerned tone.

Nina: “She didn’t know my birthday, and she was spitting up blood earlier. At the very least, she wouldn’t strip for me. So she is still faithful to you, Amelie, even without her memories.” She added.

Taking me to the side, Amelie and I were then behind a curtain. Why does she have a small examination area in her office? Regardless, Amelie stripped me of my clothes. This was one of my wives, so I didn’t feel embarrassed or wrong by stripping in front of her.

Amelie: “…”

My wife, Amelie, was shocked to see a large spot of blood on my stomach. That really wasn’t something that could be hidden, as a somewhat small knife fell from my clothes once they were taken off of me.

The wound wasn’t bad at all. That is, it wouldn’t be life threatening to a human. But on the blade, there was some strange coating. Is this the setup? I got poisoned, so that I can have the excuse of not having my memories?…

God: “Ria, I gave you a good excuse as to why you’d not have your memories. Don’t worry. But do please worry about Amelie, as I did not bring her to this dimension.” She said with a serious tone.

Of course, God was only broadcasting her voice and appearance to me, so Nina and Amelie didn’t hear or see her at all. Why can’t anything just go as planned?

I love that Amelie is here, as that means that I can save her faster. Which means that I will be able to cuddle with her once more. But, just as God derailed my plans, someone, or something, is derailing God’s plans as well. What an annoyance…

Amelie: “Does it hurt?” She asked with a nervous tone.

Ria: “Not really, no.” I answer.

Amelie: “…”

With a sigh, Amelie cleaned up my wound, and then she wrapped it up, before then putting my maid outfit back onto me. It was nice to be pampered by her again after so long…

Amelie talked in private with Nina, and I didn’t bother to listen in on the conversation. I can easily guess what they would be talking about, after all. Oh, and, Amelie picked up that knife earlier. I guess that she will figure out that substance? How long we will be here?…

A Few Hours Later.

Nina: “Amelie, what did your examination of the knife reveal?” She asked.

Amelie: “Unfortunately, the knife was poisoned with a substance that induces amnesia.” She answered with a sad tone.

Ria: “Something like that exists?” I ask with a head tilt.

Amelie: “It does, but such a substance is highly illegal. Only Nina’s stepmother would have the connections and money required to purchase it.” She replied with a sigh.

Ria: “Is there a cure? I hate missing so much of my memories… And I feel like such a horrible wife. Not only did I forget about my daughter, but I forgot about you as well, Amelie…” I say with a sad tone.

Amelie: “…”

Nina: “…”

I was mostly acting, but due to their reactions, I then noticed that I was crying. These tears weren’t fake… Perhaps it is Zia’s emotions affecting me, or maybe I just really did miss Amelie. Either way, my words were very effective just now.

Amelie: “I’m sorry… There isn’t a cure for it, and considering how you don’t feel any pain right now, that poison is still in your system.” She said with a remorseful tone.

Nina: “That knife was so small, though… How could that little amount of poison be that deadly?” She said with a thinking pose.

Amelie: “That’s just another reason why it is illegal. A very small amount is all that is needed. That woman… she probably paid millions of dollars just for the dose on the knife alone.” She explained with an angry tone.

The room got quiet, with both Nina and Amelie getting visibly angrier as the conversation carried on. Nina clearly has no love for her stepmother, and her hurting me like this was obviously something that pisses her off greatly.

Nina: “…Once it is out of her system, will she regain her memories?” She asked with a serious tone.

Amelie: “I don’t know… That substance has no research done on it at all. Basically, once it was discovered, it was banned. But, of course, with things like that, the method to make it was somehow leaked.” She replied with an unsure tone.

Nina: “I see… I will take responsibility for this, Amelie. I clearly slipped up somewhere, and that woman realized that Ria was important to me.” She said with a bow and remorseful tone.

Amelie: “Let’s not jump to the worst conclusion. We should be hopeful that Ria will regain her memories. For now, I will need your help in faking her death.” She replied.

Ria: “Faking my death? Is that needed?” I ask with a raised eyebrow.

Nina: “Amelie’s idea is correct. You used to know how to properly navigate leaving a secret life with me in that estate. Without your memories, you will slip up.” She answered in Amelie’s stead.

Ria: “…”

Nina: “Rather, I am just hoping that you were attacked for no real reason. If so, then my cover is still working, and my stepmother was just being an evil bitch, as usual.” She said with her arms crossed.

Amelie: “I would prefer that being the case as well.” She said with a sigh.

Ria: “What would be the point of attacking me, then?” I reply.

Nina: “Simply put, that woman has always loved to steal what belongs to me. Most likely, she got annoyed that I had something for so long, so she took you away from me.” She explained.

Ria: “…”

Why did God have to make this world into a noble political drama?… Once the discussion was over, my death was faked. That is, we got into a car accident, which lightly injured Nina, but killed me. With that, isn’t my role in this play over? God? Did you fuck up the script? I take it back, you fucking suck at writing scenarios!!!
