Weekly Chapter 2/6

Arrows began to fly at the tiger. The few arrows that did not penetrate the thick skin remained on the ground.

Only then did the tiger realize that other enemies had appeared. The tiger roared in a terrifying manner. Then, a thick arrow lodged in the tiger’s mouth.

One. Another one.

The tiger, struck by an arrow that penetrated from its mouth to the top of its head, fell to the ground. Its hide was further punctured by numerous additional arrows.

Eunha shed the tears she had been holding back.

When the tiger’s breathing stopped, everyone approached her.

She saw someone’s shoes. When she looked up she saw Jihak, who had leaned his body toward the gap between the rocks where she had been hiding. He had a stern look.

His eyes were fiercer than those of a tiger. His gaze made her heart pound. Eunha forward, seemingly lured by an unseen force.

He hugged her with all his might. She had become accustomed to his body temperature. The tension in her body disappeared.

She began to sob.

“…I was afraid.”

“I know.”

They sat on the floor hugging each other.

“I’ve reported on the tiger, so the merchants will soon come for leather.”

Jihak nodded at Yuljae’s words, then gestured for him to leave. Yuljae, who was polite to him, closed the door.

He had combed Eunha’s hair. Jihak didn’t like the result, but he had never done it before.

Eunha kept her knees together. Her face was as hot as a coal because his hand was brushing her face.

Jihak offered to tie her hair because she had given the hair tie to the warrior.

“You know what I thought when he came looking for me bloodstained?”

Eunha lowered her head even further.

“…You thought I was dead?”

“Probably. But there’s a difference.”

He removed the robe that covered her shoulders. Her body was bruised, also several scratches. When his eyes saw the red marks on her slender body they turned cold.

He pressed his lips against her shoulder. She was embarrassed, but he hugged her.

“I’ll apply the ointment. Hold still.”

“I’ll do it.”

“Your hand won’t reach.”

“But… I’m too embarrassed.”

Jihak laughed. In the morning he had spilled his s3eds on her body, but now she felt embarrassed because he was looking at her scars.

He then gently applied the ointment to the wound. This was something he had never done before, so he didn’t know how much to apply, but the way she shuddered every time his fingers touched her was amusing. He didn’t want to stop.

Eunha didn’t know what to do. Their gazes met in the mirror.

Why did she look relieved when he saved her?

He gently licked the back of her neck.

He licked her neck.

“Are you sick?”

“No.”

“Then why do you look like you’re going to cry?”

“What? Me?”

When his hand grasped her chin, her heart began to beat faster. He kissed her lips, then narrowed his eyes.

“That’s weird. Are you still afraid of the tiger? Your heart is pounding.”
