Chef’s Harem in Multiverse

Ch: 21 [New home for the kids]

As Jubilee ran off, I watched her disappear around the corner, shaking my head in amusement. It seemed that the energy and enthusiasm of the mutants in this place were contagious. I took a deep breath and pushed open the door to the school.

I have read so much about the mutant school in my past life in comics and also watched them in the movies, but to think I will finally get to see the famous mutants in reality. This is going to be exciting.

As I entered the mutant school, I was greeted by a vibrant and bustling atmosphere. Mutants of all ages and abilities were going about their day, engaged in various activities. Some were training in the school's gymnasium, showcasing their powers and honing their skills. Others were engaged in academic pursuits, attending classes and studying in the library. The hallways were filled with laughter, conversation, and a sense of community.

I walked through the corridors, taking in the sights and sounds around me. I saw mutants with extraordinary abilities, such as teleportation, telekinesis, shape-shifting, and elemental manipulation. It was awe-inspiring to witness their powers in action, a testament to the diversity and potential of mutantkind.

As I continued exploring, I came across a group of mutants engaged in a friendly game of basketball. The players exhibited incredible speed, agility, and precision, effortlessly maneuvering on the court. It was a display of athleticism that surpassed anything I had seen before.

Curiosity led me to the training rooms, where mutants were pushing their limits and challenging themselves. Some were honing their combat skills, engaging in hand-to-hand combat or wielding weapons with mastery. Others were practicing control over their powers, finding ways to refine and expand their abilities.

I also noticed a class in session, where mutants were learning to control their powers under the guidance of a skilled instructor. It was impressive to witness their determination and the progress they were making. The atmosphere was one of encouragement and support, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment.

As I walked through the school, I couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration and respect for the mutants and the challenges they faced. They had found a place where they could be themselves, embraced for their uniqueness, and supported in their journey to discover and harness their abilities.

"So, good place, right?" A familiar voice came from behind.

I turned around and saw Gwen standing there, a smile on her face. I couldn't help but return the smile, feeling a sense of relief and gratitude for her help in finding a safe place for Sam and Julia.

"Yeah, it's amazing," I replied, looking around at the bustling mutant school. "I never imagined I would get to see a place like this in reality. It's like stepping into a whole new world."

Gwen nodded, her expression filled with understanding. "It can be overwhelming at first, but trust me, you'll get used to it. The mutants here are incredible. They've faced their own struggles and found a home here, among people who understand and accept them."

"That's what I hope for Sam and Julia too," I said, thinking about the two siblings and the challenges they had faced. "They deserve a place where they can be themselves and feel safe."

"Well, they're in good hands here," Gwen assured me. "The X-Force takes care of their own. They'll have the support they need to grow and thrive."

I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders as Gwen spoke. Knowing that Sam and Julia would be surrounded by people who understood their unique circumstances and could guide them made me feel more at ease.

"Thank you, Gwen," I said sincerely. "For helping me find this place and for everything you've done for Sam and Julia."

Gwen shrugged, a modest smile on her face. "No need to thank me. I did what was right and so did you. If you hadn't saved them that day..." Her voice trailed off.

"Don't think about bad things. Look at the bright side, they're safe now," I said, trying to bring some positivity to the conversation. "And speaking of bright sides, do you think we should go and check on them? Make sure they're settling in okay? I am really worried about Julia's health. She suffered too much and barely escaped."

Gwen nodded. "That's a good idea. Let's go find their dorms and see how they're doing."

We made our way through the bustling corridors of the mutant school, following the directions Gwen had received. Eventually, we reached a wing of the building dedicated to the dormitories.

As we entered the wing, the atmosphere shifted to a quieter, more relaxed vibe. The dormitory rooms lined the hallway, each with its own unique door design, reflecting the individuality of the mutants who resided there.

Gwen checked her phone for the room number, and we located the door to Sam and Julia's dormitory. Gwen knocked lightly, and a moment later, the door opened.

"Hey!" Gwen greeted her with a warm smile. "Sam."

Sam's face lit up with recognition and a mix of surprise and happiness.

"Hey, Gwen! And... Sir" Sam said with a warm smile.

"Hey, kiddo. How are you doing?" I asked.

"We are doing really great. It's all thanks to both of you," Sam said as he invited us in.

I followed Sam inside the dormitory, feeling a sense of relief and gratitude. The room was cozy, with two beds neatly made and personal belongings scattered around. It felt like a place where Sam and Julia could finally settle in and call home.

As we entered, Julia, who was sitting on one of the beds, looked up and her eyes widened in surprise. She quickly stood up, a mix of emotions crossing her face.

"You came," she said softly, her voice filled with a combination of gratitude and vulnerability.

I approached Julia and gave her a gentle smile. "Of course we came. We promised to help you, remember?"

She nodded, tears welling up in her eyes. "Thank you. Thank you for saving us and bringing us here."

I reached out and hugged her, a gesture of comfort and reassurance. "Now, now, don't cry."

Julia hugged me tightly, her body trembling with emotions. I could feel the weight of her gratitude and the relief that she and Sam were finally in a safe place. I held her close, offering support and reassurance.

Gwen stood nearby, a warm smile on her face as she observed the heartfelt moment. It was clear that she had grown attached to Sam and Julia during their time together, and she was genuinely glad to see them in a better situation.

After a few moments, Julia pulled away from the hug, wiping away her tears. She gave a shy smile and gestured toward the empty bed next to hers.

"You can sit down," she said, her voice still tinged with emotions.

I nodded and took a seat on the indicated bed, while Gwen found a chair nearby. Sam joined us, sitting cross-legged on the floor, his eyes bright with gratitude.

"So, how are you both settling in?" Gwen asked, breaking the silence.

Julia glanced around the room, taking in the familiar surroundings. "It's different, but in a good way. Everyone here has powers like us, and it feels... comforting. We've met some really nice people."

Sam chimed in, his excitement evident in his voice. "Yeah, and they have all sorts of cool training rooms and classes. I can't wait to start learning more about my powers."

Gwen nodded, her eyes filled with pride. "That's the spirit. This place is all about growth and embracing your abilities. You'll have plenty of opportunities to learn and develop your skills."

Julia looked at me, her expression serious. "Thank you again, for everything you've done. We wouldn't be here without you."

I smiled warmly at her. "You're welcome. But remember, it was a team effort. We're here to support you every step of the way."

Gwen stood up, her gaze moving between Sam and Julia. "I have to get going now. Need to sign some papers."

"I will send your new clothes and other things by evening. So, stay strong, study hard, play hard, and make tons of friends. We will visit you two every weekend," I said.

Julia nodded, her expression filled with determination. "We will."

Gwen and I gave a final smile and wave before exiting the dormitory.
