"We are currently live at the beach were the plane wreckage is washing ashore with the survivors being escorted to their homes.

From what we've gathered from the survivors and the military, it seems Deva was the one who saved them.

The hero of the day is around us so let's hear his thoughts on the matter."

A male newscaster said to the camera and moved towards my position that wasn't far from them.

It's been three hours since I rescued the passengers, they are currently being sent home by the military behind me as I stood in front of the sea watching the wreckage.

Sigh, the annoying part of all this is the fact that I had to convince them of the fact that Homelander and Maeve didn't abandon them.

I made sure to destroy every device on them since one 'genius' recorded their encounter with Homelander and Maeve and I can't let a recording like that to go on air.

My agents also sent them 'hush money' with some subtle threats to keep their mouths shut.

All that's left is to use this opportunity to finalize the military bill then I can go back to do more... important things.

"Mr Deva, can we have a moment of your time please?"

The reporter asked politely as he came close to me with the camera, recording me live.

"Of course, I also have some things to say."

I replied in a calm tone as I faced the camera but my facial expression showed how 'angry' I am.

"We couldn't help but notice your silence and should I say anger? So we would like to know why you are behaving this way when you just saved hundreds of people."

The reporter said in an extremely curious tone.

".... Its just that when I think of the fact that all those people could've died if I was just a minute late, then I get sad and angry. Do you know that the government didn't want to authorize sending heroes to help? They were wasting time deciding if they should send us or not.

I couldn't wait for them to decide so I came here on my own, just imagine if I decided to wait. A lot of people could've died today if I wasn't decisive."

I explained thoroughly in a somber tone. The audience around and the reporter became silent as they thought of what I said.

"This is why we need to be in the military, if we had that kind of privilege to serve this beloved nation the way we want to I can assure you that nothing of this sort will ever happen again. So please, help us convince our leaders to let this be a possibility."

I ended in a hopeful tone with a resolute expression on my face that brought a smile to the people around me.

"Yeah we need you guys!"

"Those Congress fucks better allow this to come true, you guys just want to help this nation!"

"We ---"

The survivors screamed in agreement with some of the military personnel nodding in support.

"Well Mr Deva, you have my support. I'm sure every American listening right now has been convinced by your truth-filled speech, GOD knows we need you guys more than ever seeing how things are progressing right now."

The reporter said with a smile as he faced the camera.

With a smile on my face, I turned and continued watching the sea. I want to see how Congress can refuse as with my speech and actions, they probably won't resist any longer.

It's time to go back, tomorrow I have to attend the dead woman's funeral. It's annoying but I have to do it if I want to reinforce my point again.

After saying a few more words to the people I flew away, leaving behind the survivors that were screaming my name in adoration.

[▪︎The Next Day▪︎]

"We are here today to mourn the loss of Miss Regina Wilkins, a business woman and single mother who died during the terrorist attack yesterday.

Words can not explain how I feel right now, I keep telling myself that if I was just a little faster i couldve saved her.

It pains me to know that her daughter will have to live without her mother but I promise to make sure all her needs are fulfilled. Leave have a moment of silence for Regina Wilkins."

I said in a sad tone with a sad expression on my face towards the people who were seated in front of me below the stage wearing black clothing with a small blond girl being consoled by a couple since she was crying.

This is the memorial service for the passenger who died during the terrorist situation.

Honestly, I don't want to be here but I have to since I'm the savior.

Oh, I can see Maeve sitting further back. I don't even know why she is feeling guilty, sometimes I forget how much of a goody two shoes she was back in the day.

After an hour, the memorial service ended making the relatives and people who attended go home to mourn or do whatever.

Locking eyes with Maeve, she gestured towards a bench around the place and went to sit down.

I went to the bench a few moments later and sat down beside her.

"What's up Maggie? It's been a while."

I said with a smile.

"Yeah that's true. Hey, I just want to thank you for doing what you did the other day. If you didn't save them, I don't know how I was going to live with myself, it would've broken me.

I know you don't really care about them and only saved them because it was needed but I'm still grateful you did."

She said gratefully with a beautiful smile on her face.

"Who would've thought after all these years of following Homelander, you'd still have this amount of compassion. I guess once a goody two shoes always a goody two shoes."

I said playfully with a smirk on my face and this made her smile more.

"I wish that were true, but thank you Virgil. I really needed to get this out of my chest."

She said with a smile and gave me a kiss on my cheek.

"See you later."

She said with a sly smile and left, leaving me alone.

Looking at her sexy figure that was leaving the area, my smile disappeared.

This is the reason why I never got together with her despite how close we are, no matter how much she changes she still has her moral compass and that's something I can't tolerate.

Oh well, it doesn't matter now since I've found my better half.

Standing up from my seat, I flew away towards my building and within minutes I arrived in front of a skyscraper that has a huge 'V shaped' logo on its top.

Ascending to the last floor, I passed through the parted floor to ceiling windows and entered my luxurious and futuristic style office.

"Welcome back Virgil."

Seraph said.

"Thanks, do you have anything to report?"

I asked as I hanged my suit and poured myself a drink at the mini bar in my white round neck shirt and black pants.

"Nothing really, just that A-Train killed Popclaw and now more people know about Compound V. Also, the Shining light girl is now on the loose."

Seraph said calmly.

"Those things aren't my problem, but the compound V issue is. Its Butcher and his gang right?"

I asked as I took a seat on one of the sofas in the middle of my office and started drinking.

"That's correct."

Hmm, so they've reached this level? I'm surprised. But oh well, they wont get the chance to use it against us so he should enjoy this while he can.

"Vought has started getting sloppy, first the Mayor now this? Oh well, when I take over none of this will happen again.

Dont do anything about Butcher and his squad right now, they won't be able to use it against us anyways. Tell me about the progress of the device?"

"It's almost ready."

Seraph replied calmly.

I nodded and used the remote to switch on the large flat screen television that covered the entire wall in front of me.

"If you're gay or muslim you are going to hell?"

Starlight? This girl is getting much more interesting.

"And that if you have sex before marriage its immoral, what's immoral is the guy who almost mouth raped me and the guy who took advantage of me."

..... Hahaha, I actually thought she was going to mention my name or what we did. It's good she didn't, I dont want to destroy this beautiful flower so soon.

But I have to admit, she's got guts. Madelyn is going to be soo pissed, I wish I can see her face. Wait, I can do that but that's for later.

"I'm done taking anymore shit, thank you."

Starlight said and left the stage, leaving the audience silent.

Oh well, that was fun. The Deep is going to be in soo much trouble for my sake but that's just how life is, it isn't supposed to be fair.

She reminds me of Maeve, I hope she will be this way for a while before she submits. It's always interesting to watch how strong willed females become docile in the face of authority.

I hope tomorrow is as interesting as today.
