Chapter 264: Interrogation

"My esteemed master! Long time no see, you look even more heroic." A burly and fierce demonic shadow appeared in the specially arranged room, its aura of fear spreading.

The three composed shadow assassins, who were calm just a moment ago, trembled uncontrollably at the sight of this terrifying demonic shadow, their bodies shivering in its naturally emanating aura.

This was a powerful and evil being, its head adorned with twisting, serpentine horns, its iconic bat wings, and the flames enveloping its body. Their physical reactions all pointed to the identity of this being—a top-tier devil from hell, a deep prison refining demon.

Yet, this malevolent entity was summoned by a golden dragon, whom they thought incapable of such an act. This scene shattered their worldviews.

Next, an even more unbelievable scene unfolded. This formidable devil knelt humbly before the young man, his tone respectful, almost like... a servant.

"What do you require of me, master?" the deep prison refining demon, Myles, pressed his forehead to the ground.

Such address made the three shadow assassins tremble even more. This powerful deep prison refining demon was indeed the servant of the golden dragon. Were they living in a dream? How could the world become so unfamiliar?

"I know now, you are a fallen golden dragon!" an assassin, unable to comprehend, screamed out, recalling some secret rumors about dragons.

"A fallen golden dragon?" The other two assassins looked at their comrade as if he were an idiot.

A fallen golden dragon is one that has undergone an alignment shift, becoming a wicked dragon. Throughout the long history of Eralasia, there had been golden dragons who fell, but they were rare, not even amounting to ten in total.

Moreover, this golden dragon, escorting paladins and protecting demon-hunting knights, such actions, how could he be fallen?

Muria, the golden dragon, ignored the assassin who called him fallen. Hovering in the air, he looked down at the deep prison refining demon, now fully healed and seemingly stronger than before.

"A demon-hunting knight entrusted me to protect his progeny, but in less than a day, my protégé was assassinated. I need you to interrogate these three assassins and find out who's behind this. Any questions?"

Hearing Muria's words, Myles turned his head, staring at the three imprisoned assassins with a crimson tongue licking his lips. His face, covered in demonic runes, twisted into a sinister smile. "Master, interrogation is what we devils excel at. Leave it to me."

"How long will it take to get the information I want?"

"It depends on your requirements. If I may use any means necessary, it won't take…"

"I only need the information about the mastermind. The rest is up to you."

"Understood, master. It won't take more than half an hour," Myles said, his lips curling into an exaggerated smile, delighted at the freedom granted.

"Very well."

"Master, may I ask, where are we?" Myles, still prostrate on the ground, looked around the enclosed room with a wary expression. It was oppressive and uncomfortable for him.

"In a temple of the Dawn Church."

"The God of Dawn..." Myles shuddered, realizing the source of his discomfort. He was in a temple of a powerful and benevolent deity.

Could there be a worse environment for a devil? He felt that surviving this ordeal would give him bragging rights for a thousand years.

"Don't worry, with me here, you'll be safe. Just get me the information I need, and you'll be fine."

"Thank you for your kindness, master!" Myles's forehead hit the ground hard. "I won't disappoint you."

...Half an hour later, Muria, with Myles now disguised as a human, left the room having obtained the desired information. They were met outside by three familiar figures.

"Prince Muria." The red dragon, Otleyne, now in the form of a tall, muscular red-haired man, and Fiona, the green dragon, disguised as a noblewoman with green hair and blue eyes, both greeted Muria.

"Good timing." Muria nodded in response.

"Did you find out?" Kaslana, unable to resist, glanced at Myles. He was a creature that made her heart skip a beat, and the evil aura lingering in the room suggested much.

"The assassins are from a group called the Grey Wing. They're just pawns following orders," Muria shook his head. "They don't know who hired them, but they gave away the group's hideout in the city. I'm going there now. You two, come with me!"

"Yes!"

Kaslana shook her head as she watched Muria leave with two legendary dragons in human form and an unknown evil entity to confront their enemies. She entered the room prepared by the Dawn Church for the interrogation to tidy up and avoid unnecessary trouble.

...

"This is the Grey Wing's hideout, master!" Myles, now looking like a handsome, well-proportioned middle-aged butler, led Muria to a somewhat rundown but bustling tavern.

"Interesting." Muria observed the lively tavern, a curious choice for an assassin group's hideout.

"Let's go in and have a look!" Muria led the way into the tavern, followed closely by Otleyne and Fiona, while Myles eyed the two dragons' disguised forms and followed.

Myles had realized Muria's esteemed status. Clinging to his coattails, with a little help from his master, becoming a lord of hell would be easy, perhaps even... a Duke.

"Look who's here, a kid who escaped his home to find fun in a tavern."

"That kid probably hasn't even grown hair yet!"

"Hey, kid, have you ever touched a woman's..."

As Muria entered the tavern, a mix of sweat, alcohol, cheap perfume, and other scents assaulted him, forcing him to close off his breathing and rely on internal circulation.

At the same time, due to his youthful appearance, a few adventurers began hurling crude remarks. Without needing any direction from Muria, Otleyne and Fiona, who followed him in, acted immediately.

Using no spells or techniques, just the overwhelming physical strength of nearly-legendary dragons in human form, Fiona led the charge, with Otleyne following. They moved towards those in the tavern who had spoken vulgarly towards Muria.
