Chapter 272: The Shame of Legends

Muria was completely taken aback by what happened before his eyes. Initially, upon encountering this human legend, Muria had already given up and was prepared to go back and ask for the help of an ancient dragon for assistance.

But having come all this way, leaving without doing anything felt unsatisfactory to Muria. So, after barely a moment's thought, Muria decided to take out his awe-inspiring battle axe for a quick strike and then flee; that was his original plan.

However, Muria truly did not expect this human legend to be so weak, not even daring to block his axe's blow and instead using legendary spatial techniques to dodge, leaving his nobles behind to face death.

Seeing the unexpected glorious outcome of his own strike, Muria subconsciously wanted to swing his axe again, contemplating killing all these human nobles outright so he wouldn't have to go back for an ancient dragon, thus saving himself a considerable sum of money.

But before he could strike again, the human legend popped up, attempting to snatch his battle axe. This immediately led to mockery from the Red Dragon Otley and the Green Dragon Fiona, who then revealed Muria's identity.

Upon hearing about Muria's mother's identity, the human legend immediately believed it, without doubting their words. Dragons are different from humans; many humans are full of lies, but dragons, including evil dragons, scorn the act of lying.

Thus, a bizarre and unexpected scene unfolded: the human legend simply abandoned the nobles, allowing Muria to act as he pleased, even assisting him.

"Kill them all!" Without any hesitation, the dragons behind Muria moved to act, while he himself, holding the awe-inspiring battle axe, watched the human legend. Under the loose black cloak, the silent and solemn imperial aura covered him.

"It seems Your Highness still doesn't trust me, then I shall leave, and you may deal with these offenders as you please." Seeing Muria's look, Dempsey showed a very polite smile, then slightly bowed and slowly disappeared into the air.

"Before I go, I would like Your Highness to grant me one last request," Dempsey said in a tone that Muria found utterly detestable as he began to fade away.

"Speak!" Muria said arrogantly, his face showing unmistakable scorn and disdain, but this only made Dempsey's smile brighter and more respectful.

"I hope Your Highness won't mind some of my unintentional offensive remarks from before." Dempsey's face showed a hint of appeasement, having decided that if this young dragon lord bore a grudge, he would leave this continent, as he could no longer stay here. As for the other option, killing the dragon to silence it, he neither had the courage nor the strength.

"Get lost!" With such posture, Muria's disgust deepened, "You're a stain on the name of legends. You're not worth remembering."

"That's for the best!" Hearing Muria's utterly humiliating words, Dempsey's face showed joy instead of anger, and his semi-visible form disappeared completely, leaving behind his last words, "Thank you for your magnanimity, Your Highness!"

Muria's lips twitched, and as his psychic power spread out, not sensing the legend's presence anymore, he confirmed his departure and joined the battle.

With Muria's participation, the battle, or rather the massacre, concluded in less than a moment. The nobles who had relied on the legend to resist and repel Muria were slaughtered to the last man.

"It's over." Looking at the bloodstains on the castle below, Muria smiled slightly. Those noble forces who wished for the death of the demon hunter, Ryan, had essentially faced the consequences of their actions.

"Your Highness, this family?" A green dragon approached Muria and whispered, "Shall we clean them out?"

"If they carry the dark bloodline, then of course." Muria spoke indifferently. "Kill all those awakened to the dark bloodline."

"Yes!" The green dragon went on its way.

The nobles seeking to eliminate the demon hunter were of two types: those with dealings with dark races, where Muria only needed to kill the principals, and their families were spared by the rule of not extending misfortune to family members.

However, families like Broderick, who carried the dark bloodline, were inherently opposed to demon hunters. During the glorious era of demon hunters, such families could not exist.

Humans inheriting the dark bloodline would be influenced by it, becoming cruel and murderous, delighting in slaughtering living beings, and in more extreme cases, even resorting to killing and eating their kind.

When Muria was purging a noble family inheriting the dark bloodline, he encountered such a horrifying scene: a noble child with a gentle appearance torturing a group of children of similar age, while his mother watched with a smile.

After witnessing this, Muria began issuing orders to exterminate the dark nobility, sparing no one, male or female, young or old. The dark nobility were but monsters in human skin.

"Your Highness Muria! Should I go down and help?" The red dragon Otley asked, showing its ferocious dragon head with a hint of flattery, completely undermining its majestic demeanor.

"Still haven't plundered enough?" Muria glanced at the red dragon.

"Property, of course, the more the better, it's never enough." The red dragon replied with a cheeky face.

"Go!"

"Alright!" Hearing Muria's words, the red dragon Otley happily dove towards the castle below.

Soon after, angry roars echoed within the castle, "You damned green-skins, leave some for me, you've already taken enough."

"This one I saw first, hand it over."

"It was in my hands first."

...The noisy quarreling from below, followed by loud explosions, made Muria sigh in resignation.

"Your Highness Muria, should I go down and talk to them?" The green-haired noblewoman asked quietly by Muria's side.

"No need!" Muria waved his hand. These dragons were following him to purge the nobles, and it was only right to treat the looting of treasures as their reward.

After all, most of it was just useless gold and silver, hardly anything of value.

"Fiona, that human legend just now, truly disappointed me." Muria furrowed his brows, expressing his confusion. "Are most human legends like this?"
