Chapter 274: Beginning and End

A mere kilometer from Patrick's Fortress, the fog wall that seemed to stretch endlessly into the sky began to rapidly fade, dissipating into thin air.

Within the fog, the undead wandering aimlessly on the ground and the ghosts roaming the skies were swiftly enveloped by the grey mist, retreating rapidly into the depths of the undead fog.

"What's this?" Muria watched as the undead grey fog retreated like a tide, slightly startled before quickly realizing.

The Necromancer Council was preparing to leave; their task of gathering cannon fodder had been completed!

Seeing such a scene, the general immediately understood and, without bothering to ask Muria about the nobles, soared into the sky, standing in front of the fortress walls. His authoritative voice, bolstered by the vibration of his fighting spirit, spread throughout the entire fortress:

"All troops assemble, prepare to strike!"

His booming voice was heard by everyone in the fortress city. The city boiled over like a pot of water, and adventurers drawn by profit flooded the streets, heading towards the city gates. They had come here in advance to loot the dead.

"It's over!" Muria watched the rapidly dissipating undead fog with a hint of melancholy, "Sister Caslana, let's go."

"Okay!"

...

The departure of the Necromancer Council meant the start of a gluttonous feast for the adventurers of Ionia and the neighboring countries of Bavaria, but Muria and Caslana had no interest in joining.

The most valuable treasures of the Kingdom of Bavaria had already been plundered by the liches. They weren't foolish enough to leave treasures behind. Of course, the items overlooked by the liches were enough for ninety-nine percent of adventurers to fight over desperately.

For the surrounding countries, what mattered most wasn't treasures but the vast ownerless lands and the deserted cities.

No need to clear new lands; just send people to live there. Of course, they must be seized first. After all, the Kingdom of Ob wasn't the only one bordering Bavaria.

It was foreseeable that the land of the former Kingdom of Bavaria would witness one massive war after another between human nations, filled with death, slaughter, conspiracy, betrayal, and other bloody conflicts.

However, these were no longer of any concern to Muria. He returned to Bologna with the demon hunter Ryan, who had recovered from his injuries, and sixteen five-colored dragons, following the Golden Dragon Sister. That had become his foothold in Ionia.

Although with his current favorability in the Church of Good Gods in Ionia, he could directly stay in any of their temples, living in their temple was not as comfortable as following his kin's big sister home. Such a beautiful, gentle, and generous kin's big sister, Muria wasn't completely unfeeling.

If he had no reaction, Muria would be too unworthy of the dragon blood in his body.

"Lord Muria, the Dawn Church has delivered your remuneration."

Just as he entered the Golden Dragon Sister's castle, he received such news from the spirit of Caslana's mage tower, a being similar to Cassio.

"What is it?"

"Ten thousand cubes of fire elemental crystals." The chibi three-headed spirit in the central main mage tower said with an emotionless face, its serious tone contrasting with the cute appearance of a golden-haired little girl.

"Not bad, more than I expected." Muria nodded indifferently, unfazed by the reward.

But compared to the experienced Muria, the boy Ryan behind him, who had been maintaining a cool expression, was shocked by the amount. This figure was indeed startling.

"It feels like a lot, doesn't it?" Muria turned slightly to look at the young demon hunter.

The young man, because of his identity, had experienced no shortage of battles, but apparently, he hadn't seen much of the world until Muria brought him into Caslana's castle.

Although he tried hard to keep a straight face, not wanting to show a shocked expression, the curiosity and surprise he showed upon seeing novel things couldn't be concealed.

And now, knowing the cost of Muria's actions, he could no longer keep a straight face, showing utter shock.

"Here, it's for you." Muria took the space ring filled with ten thousand cubes of fire elemental crystals from the three-headed spirit and threw it directly to Ryan.

"For me?" Ryan caught the space ring, somewhat at a loss as he looked at Muria. It was like a teenager from Muria's previous life suddenly receiving a billion in savings; his calm reaction showed remarkable composure.

"Your fighting spirit is also fire-attribute, right? These crystals should help speed up your cultivation." Muria glanced at the astonished young man, "Your strength is too weak now."

"..." Hearing Muria's emotionless evaluation, the redhead boy clenched his fist around the space ring.

Well, seeing the young man's spirit easily ignited by a few words, Muria nodded to himself. It was typical of a young man full of vigor, and of course, the recent loss of his father probably played a part.

"Lord Muria, you also have a ransom to collect."

Just as Muria was about to continue stimulating the young man, the three-headed spirit spoke again.

"Ransom?" Muria's expression shifted slightly, looking towards the Golden Dragon Sister beside him with a slight smile, "Could it be my batch of green dragons?"

"After you and the master left, the master's grandfather, Lord Alvis, communicated with the Mother of Emeralds, Ysera, to secure a substantial ransom for you."

"As expected." Muria turned to the Golden Dragon Sister, "Sister Caslana, where is your grandfather now? I'd like to thank him."

"No need for a personal thanks. Who knows where my grandfather has run off to, and besides, this was something that was agreed upon long ago and has only now been settled for you."

"Alright then, but please convey my thanks to Lord Alvis."

...Almost everything had come to an end, the only thing left was the news of the six dragons. But Muria wasn't in a hurry; he was just waiting for news.

Besides the metal dragons helping Muria look for those five-colored dragons, the Churches of Good Gods were also searching for him. With the church's influence spread across the entire continent of Ionia, it wouldn't be long before there were results.

Another development idea for the Undead Scourge storyline:
Muria charges into the undead fog to rescue children and the remaining holy warriors, alarming a legendary lich while destroying three soul-intent liches. As he prepares to rush out of the undead fog and enter Patrick's Fortress, he is intercepted by the legendary lich.

Just as the legendary lich is about to attack Muria, the Golden Dragon Matron Atreus descends, thrashes the legendary lich, and then alarms the Ghost Sovereign.

The Ghost Sovereign Basaromu had just sealed a mother and child when he was sensed by the protagonist's grandfather. The Primordial Lord Akmonde immediately hurled his battle axe...
