Dracotitán

Chapter 84: The Void Egg

As Muria passed through the dark spatial corridor, the scene before him suddenly opened up. Endless mountain ranges, a blue sky, and vast plains next to the mountains filled his view. The moving legions of monsters on the plains were a sight to behold.

However, even the awe-inspiring legions of monsters could not keep Muria's gaze for long, for sitting atop a mountain in front of him was a colossal Titan, so immense that Ansol, towering at a hundred meters tall, seemed small in comparison.

Muria felt an incredibly familiar presence from this Titan. Just the sight of him made Muria's blood boil. Uncontrollably, streaks of lightning and whirlwinds began to manifest around his body, a resonance from their shared bloodline.

"Ansol." The titan sitting on the mountain spoke with a voice as loud as thunder, his eyes shining like twin golden suns as he looked at Ansol and then cast a tangible gaze upon Muria.

"My blood descendant." After observing Muria for a few moments, the majestic Titan spoke to Ansol, "Is this the child born of your union with that Gold Dragon girl?"

"Yes," replied Muria's father succinctly.

Following Ansol's response, Muria's grandfather fell silent for a moment, unsure of what to say. He had just awakened from a deep slumber when he sensed his son and grandson coming to visit him.

With both his father and grandfather remaining silent, Muria felt slightly awkward, the only sounds being the rhythmic marching of the distant monster legions shaking the earth, preventing the place from falling into silence.

"Thump! Thump! Thump!" The Thunderwolf Dragon that had led the way for Ansol and Muria walked up to the base of the mountain where Muria's grandfather sat, found a spot on the ground, and lay down, its formidable head watching the monster legions nearby.

"Why are there so many?" Muria noticed, following the Thunderwolf Dragon's actions, that around his grandfather, there were over a hundred Thunderwolf Dragons of various sizes lying scattered about.

Their strengths varied, with only about twenty exuding the legendary aura like the one that had led them, while the rest were at the peak of the soul-intent level.

These impressively fierce creatures, gathered together, would normally be quite eye-catching. But Muria had initially ignored them because they were in the presence of his grandfather.

The presence of an epic Titan was overwhelmingly strong, akin to the midday sun, making the Thunderwolf Dragons around him seem like mere stars that fade in the daylight.

"What is your name?" After a long silence, the epic Titan Akhmond asked Muria.

"Ah." Distracted by the impressive Thunderwolf Dragons, Muria was taken aback by his grandfather's question but quickly responded nervously, "My name is Muria, Muria Iapetos Elonsas, grandfather."

"Muria!" Epic Titan Akhmond nodded, then looked down at the Thunderwolf Dragons beneath him, already aware of where Muria's attention had been: "What do you think of my war pets?"

"They are very strong and look fierce," Muria honestly expressed his impression of the creatures.

"Heh, these are creatures I found in a major world, known there as Thunderwolf Dragons," Akhmond explained with a chuckle. "Initially, they were quite small and weak, only reaching soul-intent level upon adulthood. But after I nurtured them for a while, they became somewhat stronger, useful enough for certain tasks."

"Titan bloodline influence!" Muria looked at the Thunderwolf Dragon pack, the smallest being over thirty meters long and the largest nearing a hundred meters, and immediately understood what his grandfather meant by nurturing.

These Thunderwolf Dragons had all been transformed by his power, breaking through their racial limits, growing larger and stronger. They had become his grandfather's kin.

"I see you seem to like these creatures, but I don't have any original Thunderwolf Dragons left. These are all my kin, so giving them to you would be troublesome," Akhmond slightly frowned, feeling the need to offer something to his grandson visiting him.

"Cough!" As Akhmond pondered whether to give some Thunderwolf Dragons to Muria, Ansol coughed. After his father turned his gaze towards him, the stoic Titan spoke.

"Father, a few years ago, my wife, Atreis's father Demos, came to see Muria."

"Ah, the ancient Gold Dragon Demos! I've heard of him," Akhmond replied after a moment's thought.

"Demos is now a Dragon King," Ansol stated flatly.

"When did that happen?" Akhmond appeared surprised.

"It was during your slumber that he ascended."

"I see!" Akhmond was momentarily astonished, then regained his composure. Given that Demos was already renowned throughout Erathia when he was still a legend, his ascent to Dragon King wasn't entirely unexpected.

"Muria," Akhmond's gaze returned to Muria, apparently noticing something, as the light in his bright golden eyes intensified.

Muria felt an overwhelming pressure as if his body became transparent under his grandfather's gaze, exposing all his secrets.

However, this feeling lasted only a moment because fierce dragon flames ignited around Muria, and his draconic blood began to boil. Six sinuous dragon horns protruded from Muria's forehead, and a pair of feathered dragon wings unfurled. A long dragon tail swung behind him…

"Source power!" Akhmond's tone carried a hint of surprise and solemnity as he uttered two words. "Muria, what did Demos give you when he visited?"

"A drop of Dragon King's source blood," Muria replied, realizing from his grandfather's tone that what his maternal grandfather had given him was even more precious than he had thought.

"Source blood, huh." Hearing the expected answer, Akhmond smiled wryly, "Demos, that fellow, how did he ascend to Dragon King being so lavish with his source power? I don't have the heart to give such gifts."

"Heh, heh!" Hearing his grandfather's candid response, Muria smiled and scratched his chin, while Ansol looked impassively at his father.

"Muria, I can't give you source blood, but I can offer you something else," Akhmond decided after a brief contemplation, "Giving you Thunderwolf Dragons after Demos gave you a drop of source blood would seem stingy."

Muria grinned, preferring a pack of Thunderwolf Dragons over the source blood, but as a younger family member, he had no choice but to graciously accept whatever his elder decided to give.

"Do you have any mounts or companions?"

"No," Muria shook his head. He had wanted to find a mount or companion, but before arriving at the tribal lands, he hadn't found a suitable one, and after arriving, he hadn't had the time.

Honestly, he had felt a strong connection to the white tiger, Troilus, who had fought him upon his arrival.

"Then, I'll give you one!" Seeing his grandson shake his head, Akhmond smiled and opened his palm, where a spatial rift appeared. From it floated a massive oval black egg, over ten meters tall, hovering above his hand.

As soon as the egg appeared, it caused a remarkable phenomenon. The surrounding light distorted, and multicolored elemental particles visible to the naked eye swirled towards the egg, merging into it.

Moreover, the surrounding Thunderwolf Dragons reacted the moment the egg appeared. Many that had been lying down stood up and looked towards the egg in Akhmond's hand, their bodies flashing with blue and white arcs, sensing a suppressive and threatening presence.

"This is…" Even Ansol, typically unflappable, furrowed his brow upon seeing the egg.

"Muria, this is an egg I found while traveling through the endless void, laid by a void behemoth," Akhmond explained, his bright eyes fixed on Muria, "I don't know which type of void behemoth it is, but it's certainly extraordinary. Do you want it?"

"I..." Just as Muria was about to respond, his father spoke up to interrupt him: "Consider it carefully before you answer. This is not an ordinary void behemoth."

Seeing his father's furrowed brow and the reaction of the Thunderwolf Dragons at his grandfather's feet, Muria hesitated. Void behemoths were a general term for creatures that could wander and survive in the endless void.

There are many types and branches of void behemoths, including some legendary dragon species that could be classified as such. A void behemoth referred to a group of powerful creatures.

"Think it over. Even if you choose not to take it, I can give you something else," Akhmond reminded him as Muria pondered.

Looking at the hovering black egg in his grandfather's palm, Muria suddenly smiled. He understood why his father wanted him to think it over—the egg was too extraordinary, and whatever hatched from it would surely be exceptional. His father was worried he might not be able to control it.

But how strong could a newly hatched creature be, no matter how powerful it might become in the future? Muria did not believe he couldn't subdue a newborn, even if it could one day consume worlds.

And even if it could grow to such a level, how much time would it need? Over such an extended period, Muria was confident he would have developed enough strength to keep it in check.

"I'll take the egg, grandfather," Muria decided without further hesitation.

"Good!" Akhmond's lips curled into a slight smile, while Ansol's furrowed brows relaxed back into his usual impassive expression.

"Muria." Akhmond gently pushed the Void Egg towards Muria, "This egg is dangerous, but we Titans need only to continue our relentless cultivation and strengthen ourselves. It can only aid you, never overpower you."

"Understood." Muria caught the Void Egg and nodded, now with one more reason to grow stronger: to subdue his future mount and prevent it from turning against him.
