Dragonoid: A Fantasy Harem

“You really like playing by your own rules, don't you?”

She remarked, the man she called a friend really seemed to move at his own pace.

“Not really. I just prefer to do things quicker”

Eon responded as the two of them exited out of an alleyway, jumping over the rampart was not a challenge at all. They just needed to land in a place without many people.

“I'd prefer it if you thought first before doing Something”

She said in slight frustration, but Eon shrugged his shoulders and did not respond to her words.

“What do we do now?”

She asked, seeing that he wants to change the subject, she decided not to press the issue, plus there’s was no harm done, so it was fine.

“Find an adventurers guild. That was always the plan, so let's ask around.”

He answered her question, and the two began to ask for directions. While doing so, Reniris was able to pick up a subtle tension within the city. A few of the citizens seemed a bit tense and irate. She figured it was because of the ice blocking the gate.

She also noted that more than a few men were staring intensely at her, but she chose to ignore that, although she does wish to find a spell that will make that stop happening.

She decided to put the issue at the back of her mind as the two of them now stood before the doors that led into the adventurers guild.

*BAM!*

Eon kicked the door open, walked in with a bravado and Reniris couldn't help but sigh. Well, they were newcomers the attention would be focused on them the moment they entered.

“Hello Everybody, the strongest man has come to join the guild. Where do I sign up?”

He boasted with a wide grin on his face, as he said before he didnt come to this world to lay low and hope for a peaceful life, and this was the first step in living the life he wants.

There was already silence in the room when he entered, however now the silence was near deafening, like you suddenly lost all your hearing.

“Ha! HAHAHAHA!!”

The adventurers burst into laughter at such ridiculous words, and Reniris could not help but sigh, although she would say there's nothing to laugh about, but the adventurers didn't know what she knew. 

Of course, there were possibly people who were stronger, but within the building they're in right now, no one could match Eon, and that was a fact.

“Strongest man my ass kid, get the fuck outta here!”

One adventurer mocked as the laughter continued and Eon heaved a sigh as the adventures laughed at his declaration, of course this was to be expected. 

One cannot just walk up in the guild spout bold claims of being the strongest man and expect people to take him seriously

That was fine by Eon, after all, once he joins the guild, he will prove to them his strength. 

Actions spoke louder than words, and he planned to live by that statement in this world, plus this works in his favour since they’ll underestimate him. 

Reniris on the other hand could only sigh and shake her head, he was seemingly very impulsive and rash, when they first met, he seemed like a calm individual, but she supposed that she was wrong.

‘Well, it’s not a bad thing that he is like this. It means he is upfront about his feelings.’ 

She thought, and now that she thinks about It, she’s the one who got the wrong idea about Eon in the first place, even when they had first met, he was very upfront about his feelings.

Having realised that she was about to speak but was suddenly interrupted by someone else who spoke first, addressing Eon.

“You know, kid, it’s not every day that a fool like you shows up spouting nonsense like that, you’re certainly one of a kind that’s for sure.”

The voice was very deep and held a menacing tone, his heavy steps as he walked towards them were clear, it was a man, tall in stature around 190 cm in height, his body was lean yet had visible muscles.

He had short and well-groomed black hair and a clean-shaven face. Despite being an adventurer, there were no scars on his face.

He was not the most handsome man, but he was handsome compared to most of the men within the guild. He flashed his pearly whites as he spoke, a charming smile that many women had fallen for much to their detriment.

“But I have to say that you need to be conscious of the words you speak, after all you are not alone, you have a beautiful lady by your side”.

The man now stood in front of Reniris with the charming smile still present on his face. He got close to her side and touched her shoulder gently before speaking once more.

“The names Alexander McCain, my lady, it is a pleasure to meet you”

As Alexander introduced himself, he gently rubbed her shoulder and moved his arm around her neck to the side of her other shoulder.

Eon heard whispers amongst the adventurers, he figured most were surprised and awed by the man’s presence as he was seemingly a famous figure. At least that’s how he perceived it.

A few lamented and pitied the individuals who got his attention, and others simply laughed and snickered at the sight, wondering how things would play out.

“Say why don’t you ditch your delusional fool and hang out me? A beautiful lady like you deserves someone of a higher caliber.”

“I ask that you keep your distance, Mr McCain”

She curtly stated feeling his lust pouring out of him like water from a faucet, it made her skin crawl, this was only compounded by the fact almost all the men and women in the room were lusting after her however they seemed to have a bit more self control or rather she could feel the underlying hesitation in their gazes.

“Oh, come on now, I know you aren’t exactly-”

McCain could not finish his sentence as a powerful force collided with his chest and sent him flying and crashing onto the magically reinforced wall of the adventurer’s guild.

“I'd rather not repeat myself”

It took a few seconds for everyone in the room to register what happened, but once they did, the adventurers quickly took up arms, each grabbing their weapons and standing up to fight.

“Oh, I know a bitch didn’t just lay hands on one of us”.

One of the adventurers spoke as malice and bloodlust filled the room exerting an intense pressure on both the newcomers, but neither of them seemed bothered by the combined pressure of all the adventurers in the room.

“Oh, I know one of you didn’t just lay their hands on one of us”.

Eon threw that line back at them as he stepped before Reniris ready for a fight, it seemed the adventurers practised the rule of you hit one of us you hit all of us, which admittedly wasn’t a bad rule and it showed comradery amongst them; however, Eon was not going to stand for it. 

He purposefully did not say anything when that bozo laid his hands on Reniris because she is an individual who can speak for herself as such there was no need for his interference.

He believes she can take all these guys by herself but he wants to join in, she can’t have all the fun by herself and besides what kind of man would he be if he didn't defend his friends and what kind of dragon would he be if he didn't protect his treasure.
