The light bulb above the monster’s head turned off.

Dududududududu-!

The monster was charging towards me.

I got up and started sprinting.

This time, I wasn’t running as desperately as before.

Turning towards the direction of the monster’s footsteps…

For some reason, the monster wasn’t immediately initiating a confrontation.

I see…

Right now, it’s worried about the white gun in my hand.

The white gun was radiating a bright light that enveloped around me like a warm blanket.

The light had a radius of about 8 meters.

And I only had 4 bullets left.

Fuck… If I was using my right hand, I could’ve blown away its head in one shot.

Shooting with my left arm felt way too uncomfortable.

In addition, the recoil was way too much for my left hand.

I hadn’t done any exercising when I entered High School.

Though my arm strength was still moderately strong.

But as of right now, handling a gun is too difficult for me.

I would have to re-align my aim for another accurate shot.

Consecutive shooting was out of the table.

The conditions I needed to shoot it…

Fuck, there’s too things to account for!

Think! Think! Think!

What can I do to draw him out?

As I weaved through the shelving racks, I could hear the bastard moving around in the darkness around me.

Reaching to the end of an aisle, I turned around and pushed down a rack with my foot.

Crash!

This was probably useless, since it can just climb over it.

But it’s better to restrict its movement and manipulate the environment in any way possible…

Little by little.

I had to create an imaginary map in my head.

Using a MOBA game as an analogy…

I am merely an NPC, and I am looking down on myself as if I’m a god from above.

Surrounded by walls of shelving racks, with no map visibility.

Okay, let’s see where the monster is at.

I started jogging quietly to monitor the monster’s footsteps.

Is it behind me..?

I slowed down.

...

No, it’s gone.

And everything is eerily quiet.

Shit.

I need to find it again.

I jogged over to an area that was spacious and began pushing over racks to create a large space around myself.

I stood in the middle of the space.

In the darkness, the white gun created a circle of light in the large space, and surrounding me were fallen racks

Okay…

I scanned my surroundings.

Where the fuck is it..?

Swoosh!

Behind me!

I quickly turned around and aimed my pistol in front of me.

Nothing there.

It’s still playing with me.

Crazy bastard.

Step. Step. Step. Step.

My right side..?

I turned my head to the right.

No…

Step. Step. Step. Step.

How about my left side..?

Then, I turned my head to the left.

Wait…

Right now, it’s circling me.

Step. Step. Step…

Despite the darkness, I could feel a gaze filled with killing intent directed towards me.

Come on…

I dare you to enter my field of vision…

As soon as you do… I’ll shoot you down!

Step.

...

The monster stopped.

I aimed the revolver in the darkness where I heard his last step.

Wait a minute.

Grip.

Something’s wrong.

Swoosh!

Shit!!!

Quickly appearing into my field of view was a large shelving rack.

The monster threw a large rack at me!

“Ugh!”

I threw myself over to the side.

“You fucker!”, I yelled.

The monster laughed,

Hehehehe…

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA…

The monster scurried around me.

Oh no… This was a bad place!

I need to get out of this space!

Then, the monster started throwing more racks towards the middle.

Damn it!

Everytime I tried to get out of the space, the monster would throw another rack in front of me.

It’s trying to keep me here!

Shit, I’ve got no choice!

In my left hand, I brought the white gun in front of me.

Aiming the white gun towards the darkness, pointed away from the monster.

I shot another bullet.

BANG!

A flash of light brightly came out of the gun and obliterated both the darkness and racks in front of me.

Another line disappeared from the engraved symbol.

3 bullets left.

A clear path laid before me.

I followed along the straight path of light.

But… While my attention was turned away from the monster.

I forgot to keep track of its movements.

In the darkness beside the path of light, I saw the monster too late.

Waiting for me on top of a shelving rack.

Shit!!!

It jumped at me, extending all of its 8 arms towards my body.

Damn it!

I’ve got no time to aim!

I brought the gun in front of me and shot again.

BANG!

The bullet of light pierced through the monster’s chest, but nowhere close to the heart.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-!”, the monster squealed in pain.

The monster’s momentum was stopped mid-air by the bullet, and it fell backwards into the darkness once more.

Another line disappeared from the engraved symbol.

...

2 bullets left.
