Employees Of The Unnamed Convenience Store

Chapter 26 – Allena Weaver: What Are You Doing Here? [Part 2]

I talked back, “Excuse me..?”

It’s currently 7:24 am, and class is about to start at 7:30 am. Right now, I’m just in my seat scrolling through pictures of hot dudes on my phone.

I spared a moment to look at and identify the group of girls… Ah, it’s the loud bunch that routinely goes out to karaoke bars with those popular boys.

Surrounding my desk from left to right were my classmates: Irah, Eliza, Reni, Stella, and Denni.

‘You selfish bitch… What did you do to Wally?’

Ah… It seems like this group is associated with Wally.

Well, from the way they’re glaring at me... Was this about my break up with Wally?

Another one of the girls spoke up, Stella asked, “You and him were in a relationship right?

Tell us what happened at your break up.”

… Seriously? Girl, I only knew him for about 2 weeks. Other than sharing and relating with him about similar problems, there wasn’t anything romantic about being with him.

He just felt like a close friend.

Reni told me, “Before Wally ghosted us, he told us that you and him were over.

It's been over a week now.

Clearly it wasn’t a simple break up… What did you say to him so depressed?!”

Hmmm… As I recall, all I said was that I never saw him as a partner at the end of our last date. Though, I told him that if he wanted to keep in contact with me, we could only remain as friends. It was nothing too serious… Right?

Irah slammed her hands on my desk.

Slam!

… Jeez, calm down.

“I don’t get it… He’s a funny and kind guy, he doesn’t deserve this.

From the way you dressed, I knew there was something wrong with you..!”

“I even told him that he deserves someone better than you.

Just what did he see in a freakshow like you?!”

Are girls usually this provocative and dramatic? I didn’t know since I didn’t have many back in middle school.

And the way she’s saying things… It seems this isn’t about the break up. Rather it’s about seeking retribution for the person she loves.

And…

‘Just what did he see in a freakshow like you?!’

You bitch.

I grabbed the wrist from the hand that was resting on my table.

“Ack!”, she flinched.

And I stood up while looming over her and the other girls.

The strength and height difference between us was clear. So why did you pick a fight in the first place? Don’t blame me for what happens next.

In a cold voice directed not only to Irah, I told the girls, “It’s already over. It’s his fault if he can’t get over me.

If he isn’t answering anyone, that’s his decision. Just lay off and give him the time he needs to get back on track.

Better yet, why don’t you prepare yourself and console him when he comes back?

To me, it sounds like he’s more than just a friend to you and your lackeys.”

I tightened my grip on her wrist.

“And don’t talk about me as if you know me, the only person who knows me best is myself.”

I finally let go of her wrist.

“I can’t believe you involved me into your deluded cliche romance-drama story-”

Slap-

My head recoiled to the left.

I glared at the person who initiated the blow… Denni.

You fucker..!

Ding-Dong!

The bell rang at 7:30 am and class started. The homeroom teacher that was late had just entered the classroom… The first thing she was greeted with was a 1v5 cat fight between girls.

I got a 2 week suspension from school.

Annoyingly, the witnesses in the classroom didn’t snitch on who initiated the fight. So naturally, both me and the girls got the same punishment. Man, I’m really starting to hate the “no snitching” mentality…

While I was off school campus, I decided to cool myself off by playing games, watching anime about magical girls, and catching up with homework at home.

However…

My shifts at the convenience store became hell for me.

Apparently, the group of bitches that messed with me decided to maliciously spread rumors about me online. Talking about how I was an easy girl who would spread her legs for anybody.

Since I was a loner without any friends, there was literally nobody who could back me up. Eventually, there were losers who came to the store and harassed me at work.

Ding!

The male customer, who looked around my age, walked in and immediately headed towards the counter. He grabbed an XL condom from the shelf near me and confidently stood in front of me.

“Hey… Cutie, can you scan these for me?”

Fuck, this is getting annoying now. This perverted bastard was blatantly staring at my breasts. Also… You’re not slick for trying to show off motherfucker.

I scanned the condoms while plastering a fake smile on my face, “That’ll be 12 dollars and 15 cents…”

Please leave.

The boy kept staring at me. His face slightly frowned when he took a look at my face, but then smiled as he looked down at my bosom.

… Just take the fucking condoms.

I informed him, “Sir, there’s another person waiting in line-”

“Actually, there’s another thing I’d like to order.”

… Please don’t.

“Can I add your number onto my list?”

You son of a-

Ding!

But before I was able to lash out at the boy… I saw a familiar face at the entrance.

What are you doing here… Wally?
