NOVEL SIMPLE Chapter 49: Class Change

The Divine Class Stone. From what Paul had investigated, it was a special item located in every church that allowed players to rank up their classes and obtain subclasses. The way they did this was through divine intervention.
The gods of every Realm would gauge the talent of players and assign them special class rank-ups or subclasses. Of course, sometimes, if they aren’t noteworthy at all, they can only get the most basic rank-ups or subclasses, oftentimes unlocked through certain actions.
These “basic” subclasses were things such as Craftsman, Alchemist, Blacksmith, and so on, which were the simplest and most basic of them all. However, they could also be different if given by a god; things such as Cursed Alchemist, Spiritual Blacksmith, Mountain Craftsman, and more could emerge, obtaining new keywords and granting special abilities or effects.
Paul was looking forward to what he could get, although he wasn’t really happy with the whole thing about the gods deciding these things and the system only granting the most basic options.
“Basically, to get the best class and subclass, we need to be noteworthy for the gods,” explained Paul to Chris. “We’ve done a lot, so I am pretty sure we’ll get a lot of attention from them. We also both carry their curses, so... It’s a given.”
“Hmm, I don’t know, but I would rather not get anything from that bitch of Luxuria; she cursed me! Why would I want her class?” wondered Chris.
“Fair point,” nodded Paul. “However, in this realm, curses are considered blessings after all. The Evil Gods seem to work differently than what our perception of conventional gods could be…”
“Really, big brother?” wondered Camilla. “How?”
“Well… Usually, Gods grant Divine Protection, but Evil Gods instead curse you with a powerful curse imbued with their evil divinity,” explained Vlad. “The curse is so potent that it both gives you a boon and also a bane. But usually divine protections have no such banes and are just protections and enhancements. but in here, the curses of these evil gods are considered a blessing instead.”
“But not all the gods are evil, right?” wondered Chris.
“Yeah…” Paul looked at the three moon-shaped windows above. “There are some, but they’re weaker than the evil gods. Anyways, you go first, Chris.”
“M-Me?!” asked Chris. “Wait, why me first? I’m a bit scared!”
“Don’t be,” said Paul with a gentle smile. “The gods can’t really do anything to you, so calm down. Touch the crystal and select what you want.”
“Okaaay…”
Chris walked towards the crystal, gulped saliva nervously, and touched it with his hand.
FLASH!
And in that moment, bright white light encompassed his body entirely, as he almost went blind. Then he found himself in a different realm altogether, one where darkness and light clashed against one another.
“What the hell…?”
He looked around nervously, suddenly finding that the sky above, with darkness and light constantly clashing, began to twist and shape, shaking the entire realm where he found himself.
RUMBLE!
From within them, countless eyes, hands, and mouths emerged. Big purple and red-colored eyes with enormous black eyelashes glared down upon him, and long hands with even longer nails, painted red, appeared too. And then a beautiful and sexy pair of three lips, red and meaty, while cascading purple, red, and blonde hair fell from the skies, shaking the ground where he was standing.
“H-Huh?” Chris stepped back in utter horror.
But that didn’t end there, as there were other “entities” spectating the entire thing: distant eyes, a crimson eye covered with flames. Another was made of light, with a pair of angelic wings, and then a third was squinting, of gold color.
They mostly emerged from within the “dark” side of this realm, where the “white” side of this realm remained empty.
“What the fuck is going on…”
[The {Evil Goddess of Obsession and Pleasure} smiles with her countless lips, beyond happy to see her beloved little cursed soul!]
[Her hands extend towards you, desiring to touch you and feel your flesh!]
“W-What?! Get away from me!”
Chris cried, running away from the giant hands rushing towards him, until the hands could no longer stretch enough to reach him.
[The {Evil Goddess of Obsession and Pleasure} is shocked and sad!]
“Booohooo…”
The giant, purple-colored eyes started crying, enormous droplets of water covering the entire place as rain fell over.
“W-Why…? What’s going on?”
Chris was still trying to figure out what was happening.
According to what Paul told him, the gods would give him classes and subclasses.
But this was beyond everything he expected!
It was a Mind Realm of its own, where Gods could quite literally interact with their chosen ones…
And that goddess wasn’t the only one, either.
[The {Evil God of Desire and Materialism} sees in you great potential for a new apostle.]
[The {Evil Goddess of Hatred and Bloodshed} is looking from the distance with a slight amount of interest.]
[The {Evil God of Stagnation and Apathy} yawns…]
Aside from the evil god of greed, the rest didn’t really seem that interested at all, just looking, but that seemed to be enough to be given an offer from them.
And then, a system message appeared in front of his face.
Ding!
[Congratulations! Several Deities of your Realm are interested in offering you special Class Rank ups and Subclasses!]
[What do you want to do first?]

[Choose Subclass.]
“Um…”
Chris looked at the skies; the giant eyes glaring at him intensively really made him nervous; his hands were trembling; their very gaze was enough to put over him a tremendous weight.
“This first…”
He clicked the [Rank Up Main Class] button first.

Chris didn’t like Luxuria, so he wasn’t taking her offer any time of the week.
And the other Evil Gods… He couldn’t trust them either.
If they played around with mortals and cursed them all the time, he was not going to take their sponsorships, no matter what.
“I’ll just pick the-”
FLUOSH!
Suddenly, the white skies shook as something else emerged: a glistening gleam of silver, moonlight shining brightly with pink and silver.
It quickly took the shape of a small, silver-colored moon, almost completely inconspicuous in comparison to the gigantic eyes.
“Eh?”
[The {Goddess of the Silver Moon} is shocked that there are so many evil gods here already!]
[She sighs… You’ll surely won’t take her offer anyway.]
[The other Evil Gods glance at her, laughing.]
“Gyahahahaha!”
“Ohohohoho!”
“Bahahaahah!”
Even Luxuria pointed her fingers at the moon, mocking her.
“They sure love bullying…”

Also, Chris could trust more the moon goddesses, which weren’t evil gods to begin with, than the evil gods themselves.

Without hesitation, and to the dismay of the evil hods and the disbelief of the goddess, he clicked the most recent option sponsored for him.

A silver-colored ray of moonlight hit his very body, empowering him with an aura of silver and pink, making him grow stronger by the second.
“Oh, this is super nice! I feel stronger, and—huh?”
Suddenly, a tattoo resembling a silver moon surrounded by two open hands appeared in his left hand.
“Oh? A tattoo? What’s this? Wait, is it a curse?!”
RUMBLE!
The skies trembled furiously, and the evil gods glared at Chris with utter anger, but even more furiously at the silver moon by their sides.
[The {Evil Goddess of Obsession and Pleasure} is utterly mad! She cannot believe you’ve chosen a clearly inferior class option!]
[The {Evil God of Desire and Materialism} screams in disbelief! He wanted you for himself!]
[The {Evil Goddess of Hatred and Bloodshed} roars with a warmongering voice! He wants to kill the Silver Moon Goddess!]
[The {Evil God of Stagnation and Apathy} yawns… but looks slightly bothered.]
The silver moon shook uncontrollably as she felt nervous and overwhelmed.
[The {Goddess of the Silver Moon} cannot believe you actually chose her class option!]
[She is very grateful, but at the same time, she is trying to calm down the angered evil gods.]
[She says that it is not her fault and that you had the freedom to choose any option.]
[The Evil Gods are not listening to her words and are bashing at her with anger.]
Chris had enough of their bullshit.
“W-Would you shut up?! Let her be, you assholes! If anything, hate me for choosing the class! Yeah, I chose it because I am not going to be friends with evil gods! Even less you, Luxuria! You ruined my entire fucking life and expect me to happily take your class?! Are you delusional?”

The dark skies began trembling, and divine lightning started falling and shaking the entire mind realm.
“GRAAHHHH!!!”
The roars of the furious Evil Gods, incapable of believing a mortal dared to even talk back to them, started to tear apart the entire mind realm.
“Ah shit, shit, shit, shit!”
Chris quickly browsed through the Subclasses as the gigantic claws of Luxuria started to rapidly stretch towards him.
“Come on, come on, come on! Ah! There!”
He clicked his option, which granted him yet another ray of moonlight before disappearing.
FLASH!
His eyes opened; his body was never teleported anywhere, but it was his very mind that had been sent to this different Mind Realm.
“Hahh… hahh.. haahhh…”
However, Chris was shaken to the core; he had never experienced such a thing before!
“Is this really a game?!” Chris screamed. “That was so stupid! What the hell?”
“Chris! What’s wrong?” Paul ran to his side, noticing he was exhausted.
“I-I’m fine…” The incubus groaned. “I just got a bit spooked. The gods themselves showed up, and... it was so weird.”
“The gods themselves?!” Paul muttered.
“Yeah, and there was like a Mind Realm… weird stuff. I don’t know if it’ll happen to you, but be careful,” sighed Chris. “It seems that I enraged them a little bit, and they got really angry. Luxuria wanted to grab me with her giant claws, and it was scary as hell! I imagined the Evil gods to be similar to demons, but... They’re more like monsters, not people.”
“Huh…” Vlad rubbed his chin after giving Chris a healing and stamina restoration pill. “Alright then, what did you choose, though?”
“I got sponsored by the goddess of the silver moon!” said Chris with a cute smile, brimming with confidence. “I got something like... an archer class of the silver moon, and my subclass is... Moonshine Contractor? I think this is a taming class. It sounds weird, though.”
“Huh, we’ll have to see what it does later then. I’m going too,” Vlad touched the crystal, as his mind was quickly teleported somewhere else.
It was a place he didn’t recognize, but that was eerily similar to what Chris had seen too.
A world where two skies, one of darkness and one of light, endlessly collided.
A place where the presence of this realm’s deities slowly began to manifest.
Vlad saw in disbelief as a gigantic jaw emerged within the black sky, smiling viciously at him. It began drooling, as if he were nothing but a snack.
