Chapter 285 - I’ve Already Fallen Hard for You (1)

For the rest of the week, Xiao Bao and Little Star stayed at home and didn't attend school. Even though Xiao Bao didn't need to stay with his twin sister, he refused to go to school without her. Little Star had developed a slight fever the next day, which effectively stopped Tang Moyu from leaving Peach Blossom Garden.

Little Feiyu helped his mother look after Little Star. He woke up early just to check if his sister was awake and was able to breathe on her own. She had to stay on her bed, next to her brother's while Xiao Bao chose to bring all the toys she wanted with him and played on the floor next to her bed.

Because Tang Moyu had to stay home and care for Little Star, she had asked Cheng Ning to deliver everything related to work to Peach Blossom Garden so she could work from home. She didn't want to leave Little Star until she knew that her daughter had fully recovered.

She had set up a small table with Auntie Lu's help at the corner of her children's room, intending to keep her company until she recovered.

"Mommy, can I see Daddy Ji? I really miss him." Little Star asked her mother, a breathing mask covering half of her face, her eyes a little misty.

It was the third day that she was stuck on her bed and she was missing her daddy. Although she was able to talk to him through phone calls, it still wasn't enough for the little girl who was already used to having her Daddy Ji around.

Tang Moyu lifted her gaze from the paper she was reading to her daughter, noticing her solemn expression. She sighed and removed the spectacles from her face and rubbed her temples.

Unlike other CEOs who were residing in penthouses and high raised buildings, the empress had chosen the privacy that the Peach Blossom Garden offered. That also meant that her house didn't have many modern facilities such as a swimming pool, which could only put her twins at harm if they were left unattended, and elevators to access the other parts of her massive home.

Although Feng Tianyi was recovering well and was able to ditch his wheelchair for a few minutes and can walk a few meters each day, she didn't want him to exert himself too much. But maybe… just maybe, she would allow him to make his way upstairs to see Little Star this time. She would need to ensure that he is assisted every step of the way, in case anything happened.

She knew that Feng Tianyi also wanted to see her little buns. He had asked Auntie Lu to deliver some of Little Star's favourite desserts, knowing that he wouldn't be able to see them although they lived in the same compound.

"I see what I can do, darling. But I can't promise you anything." She told her daughter before leaving her twins in Auntie Lu's care, making her way downstairs.

Tang Moyu looked outside and saw that the sky was darkening, indicating another downpour this afternoon. She must hurry, or else she and Feng Tianyi would be drenched in rain.

When she arrived at the guest house, she didn't see her boyfriend inside. He was neither in the kitchen nor on the porch where he usually spent his afternoons working. Tang Moyu then went out to the garden and saw him tending to the mini-farm he and her little buns had started.

"What are you doing here? The rain is about to fall." Tang Moyu strode towards him and twined her arm with his. He had left his wheelchair a few meters away. She helped him walk back to it until he was seated comfortably.

"I need to check on the crops Little Star planted. I'm sure she will be upset if she finds out her baby carrots got ruined again. Unfortunately, by the rain this time." He explained and wiped his sweat off his face. "How about you? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be with Little Star and Baobao right now?"

Tang Moyu wheeled him back into the guest house.

"I came to pick you up. Little Star wanted to see you. Don't worry, I'll help you get upstairs. We just need to be careful." She assured him, watching him wheel himself through the hallway leading to his bedroom.

"Alright. I'll have a quick shower first before we go." Feng Tianyi agreed before he completely disappeared into his room.

The hot weather and high humidity in Shenzhen had made his skin feel sticky with sweat. He was reminded why he didn't want to live in this place when he was younger. He preferred the weather in Shanghai, where the Song family originated.

Shanghai had four distinctive seasons. It had a pleasant warm spring, a hot rainy summer, a comfortable cool autumn and an overcast cold winter.

Due to its subtropical climate, the weather here in Shenzhen was mild and there was plenty of sunshine and rainfall all year round. Summer usually lasts longer compared to the other large cities. In contrast, the winter in Shenzhen was very short and not cold at all.

While waiting for his return, Tang Moyu looked around the house. Her eyes caught a new bookshelf installed in the corner. She walked towards it, her eyes scanning the content of the shelf.

A smile spread on her lips when she saw new storybooks for children, probably for her little buns. Tang Moyu appreciated that Feng Tianyi was doing his best to get along with her children, an effort that was not present in any of her former 'suitors'.

Her eyes then drifted up and saw all the books Feng Tianyi had written so far. Feng Tianyi had told her that he'd already been writing, albeit not professionally, even before his accident. Some had never managed to get published, the others were now available for purchase at every bookstore throughout the country.

Tang Moyu never understood the hype around his books, that Li Meili and Cheng Ning couldn't stop talking about, until she met him.
