Evolving Ghost System: Phantom Universe Expansion Pack

Chapter 55: A Ridiculous Wager

A few minutes later at the Green Burry Inn,

Harvard, Snow Lilly, and Great Styles sat down at the Green Burry Bar, and all got drinks. It turned out that Great Styles had gotten cursed by the Kraken. He had no choice but to increase his infamy, or his wife would be killed.

"It was love at first site. We met in Greater Central Territory," Great Styles wiped a tear from his eye. "She-she was my first guild member, and my most loyal! She stayed up late and helped me find rocks on the beach for this stupid A rank quest!"

"However, one day, we had been at a beach and we saw these two gigantic Kraken's getting fought by an idiot," Great Styles lamented, and blew his nose on a tissue from a nearby waitress. "Ah! A wave swept her into the ocean, and then I went to get her and then the Kraken cursed her and made me work for him! I-I should've helped you, but I needed one more rock to complete my damn class 2 quest!"

Harvard had once had to put 1,000,000 coins into a sword pedestal, so he felt Great Styles pain. It also explained his level. He probably just found like his 15,999,338th rock when he'd been fighting the Kraken. It was definitely a truly difficult heirloom ranked class promotion quest!

'So, where is she?" Harvard ate his food. "What's her curse?"

"When the 20 days of the Monsoon Kraken's rain's are up, the curse will turn her into a humongous man with bulging muscles that likes women! I-I can't lose her! I can't lose my woman because of some damn strange curse! She's-she's in a room. Her body is slowly growing bigger and her femininity is getting zapped! She-she doesn't even want to have kids anymore!"

"Take me to her," Harvard sighed and patted Great Styles on the shoulder. "Let's see if I can help a brother make a woman a mother."

"Ugh, why did I feel like they'd be instant friends,' Snow Lilly somewhat angrily glanced at Harvard happy with another man. "Whatever, I'm still his best friend!

Dungeon Competition, Tricky's 4th dungeon

"Dude, where the hell is Hamlord?" Grinning Sword Master waited in front of the dungeon at 12:30. "It started at 12:15 due to delays! We're going to lose if he doesn't' arrive."

"I-I probably made him tired last night," Hot Yummy muttered under her breath. "It's my fault. He kept trying to go to sleep, but I couldn't let him sleep. He kept beating me in wrestling, and I wasn't going down without a fight." She bit her lip and blushed. "Ugh, what?. Never seen a newly wed before?"

"Ah, there he is!" Feisty Lisa pointed at Hamlord walking slowly towards the entranceway. "He's with another woman! Isn't that Snow Lilly!"

"OHHHHH! She's hot!" Grinning Sword Master smiled. "I heard she calls him Hammy, hahaha! Newly wed my ass! There is no way you two got married last night!"

"Hmph," Hot Yummy nodded her head. "He's a good man. More women the better. Father always said the curse requires a lot of woman! Let there be more women!"

[New Quest from you 1st wife, Hot Yummy!]

[Get married to more women so you can manage the speed curse! Do you accept the quest?]

'She's not an NPC. Why am I getting a quest?" Harvard ignored the quest and jumped up the stairs. "Anyways, Great Styles. Now that the curse is revolved, what are you going to do?"

Harvard had taken a minute to remove the curse on Great Styles Wife while using Golden Seal. It even leveled up so he could now use it three times and he earned 1,500 benevolence. He saw a real opportunity there, and looked at the somewhat masculine women on Great Styles side. She had blonde hair, blue eyes, and a gorgeous rack but with muscular arms but a great shimmering smile. She was very pretty for a rather scruffy looking large framed man like Great Styles. He understood now why he'd gone through such trouble to try and kill him.

"Anyways, what's happening guild? Why do you all look so worried."

"The dungoen competition! We have like 3 minutes until they complete it!" Hot Yummy wanted to smack Harvard on the face, but held back her arm. "Now come on! Let's get in there and finish the boss quickly!"

###

Harvard just realized he wagered 150,000,000 Lograms on himself winning and it got approved.

That meant almost no one had wagered anything on the Palatins, which meant he'd get 5000 times that back if he won. That meant he'd officially be the richest person again out of all Ghost Adventurers. Alas, it seemed like the dungeon had been made specifically for him in mind.

"It's-it's a room with a thousand treasure chests! It's like it's the perfect dungeon for you Hamlord!"

Tricky's fourth dungeon had been built overnight by a few NPCs, and Harvard had thought the most they could do is set up a boss room. However, they really outdid themselves. It was a room with 100 hallways, more that 6 times more than the first dungeon, and there was a 1000 treasure chest! This quest was made for him! He was about to be rich!

[Your competitors are up to the final boss!]

'Shit! What am I doing staring in awe! Get to the damn boss room Harvard!'

Swoosh!

Harvard activated Stealth Eye and removed the golden seal to increase his agility. With the speed curse activated, he looked almost 1 / 3rd as fast as when he used Midnight Ruler. He had to admit, with the golden seal, this curse had turned into a real blessing.

Swoosh! Woosh! Swoosh!

Harvard got 30 keys from the treasure chests and hallways before he arrived in front of the large boss door and quickly and adroitly opened it up.

Inside, it seemed like a boss was already engaged in a fierce battle.

'Wait, don't tell me they just started us at other ends of the dungeon! How do we win?'

[Quest Update: Defeat Tricky's Last Final GaurdKing and do more damage than the other team]

[Tricky's Final GuardKing was kept out of the three final dungeons because he was too hard to beat alone. However, due to the tie between two teams, he was brought out of the Tricky's Monster Dungeon and brought here to battle the two final teams.]

[You and your opponents must face off. You can get in your opponents way, but you cannot kill them or hurt them!]

'Shit… How much Vitality does he have left!' Harvard waved to Hot Yummy and his party while they slowly walked into the dungeon and looked at the beautiful golden frames that got put up overnight and the painting up above of singing fully dressed women. "Guys, hurry up! We have a problem!"

"Hmph, the other team finally arrived. Losers, the boss only has 56 percent health left! We only have to do 7 percent more damage and we win! Ha ha! Kiss my bottom morons!"

###

"He's so fast. What's his agility?" The West Jam Guild's 10 members were terrified of Hamlord and how fast he seemed to be getting. He was blocking their arrows, and doing damage at 10 times their rate of damage! That meant that Hamlord was going to do 50 percent damage by the time he did 5 percent damage!

Three of their Ten teammates were engaged with Hot Yummy, Grinning Sword Master, and Fiesty Lisa to keep them from helping Hamlord. However, he just seemed to be getting faster and faster and stopping more attacks while also dishing out his own attacks.

The Last Final Guardking was a gigantic bald headed man with a gigantic frame and a ripped muscular exterior. He had two hammers that he swung liberally and quickly that West Jam's Ghost Lancer was having a hard time defending.

Ghost Lancers were similar to Ghost Tanks from Central Continent, but were from Greater Continent's Main Capital, Harvestland City. Those in Greater Central Continent naturally looked down on the regular Central Continent, however, Harvard didn't even need a tank!

He was just so fast taht the Last Final Guardking looked like a gigantic person trying to swat an overly fast fly that kept swiping at his neck, his back, and his eyes. He was blinded a few minutes ago, and his aim got worse! He was hitting West Jam Guild's tank instead of Hamlord! This was not the time to get aggro, which basically meant the aggression of the boss!

"Magnificent Slash!" Harvard slashed into the Last Final Guardking's thigh and then the back of his neck and then cut his wrist. "Ultimate Poison Blade! Blocking your arrow attack!"

Boom!

Harvard darted forward with both hands to the side before he activated Ultimate Steal on one of the damage dealers attacking the bos from the guild.

[West Jam Bow Acquired]

[West Jam Bow tossed off the edge of the arena.]

"Hey! That was mine asshole!" Harvard disappeared while an angry archer pulled out her third bow of the hour. "Ugh, this is so ridiculous! How are we going to lose!"

[Tricky's Final Guardking is activating his ultimate Final Attack]

[9 / 10th's burial.]

[Ninety percent of the room will receive the ultimate attack of Tricky's Final Gaurdking, while those who do the most damage will be spared. 5 percent chance of the person attacked will die on the first hit!]

'Shit! Are you kidding me!' Hamlord held up his hand and wiped off his sweat. "Everyone stop! Do the exact same damage!"

[System information: Doing the same damage will mitigate his final attack, however, you only did 41 percent of the damage to their 45. You will lose.]

'I'm not letting 1 / 20 of us have a chance of almost certain death!' Harvard didn't do the math quite right, but there was 20 in the room with a 5 percent chance of certain death! This was the best option! "You all! Come here right now while he's still preparing his final attack."

"HAHAHAHA! The Guardking will be victorious! All of you will pay!"

"9/10ths Larceny!"

Boom!

A large wave shot through the room and pushed everyone back. However, no damage was done since no one technically did the least damage.

"Everyone! Aim for 100 damage at a time! Change your gear so you only do a hundred damage!"

"Why are you doing this, idiot?" West Jam Guild's leader, Raisen, didn't want to win like this with the projected victor giving up his chance at winning. "You-you could just block all our attacks and then let your team attack! Your team would be spared!"

"I can't do that," Harvard shook his head. "I'd been a stupid, goodwilled lawyer in my last life. I can't just let all of you people die because I wagered 150,000,000 Lograms."

"You what?! NOw I Don't even want to win! Why not just split the money!" Another guild mate, Razorthin, a skinny woman with a large blade on her back said. She was in a black dress with long black hair that parted down the large blade while she fired from her fifth bow- Harvard didn't steal the other three. "Damn it! Can this thing really kill us if we all do different amounts of damage?"

"Junie, don't attack it while the other 19 of us attack it! Let's see what happens," Raisen held his hand up and closed it, which meant fire in his guild language. "Attack! Attack! 100 damage a second!"

Harvard switched to his legendary - he didnt' check it's new name - daggers and slashed with one attack. He used just enough force to do a hundred damage while everyone else more or less did a 100 damage besides Junie. She was the sweetest looking girl, until, of course, a large lightning bolt struck her and she lost half her health.

"Hahaha! Suffer the consequences of 9 / 10th Larceny! I stole 9 / 10th's of your health! Hahahaha! You're dead next round!"

The monster's attack caused everyne in the room to gulp, and it also seemed kind of unfair. Like, why give a final boss monster such a ridiculous attack. It wouldn't only kill 9 / 10ths of the people. It would probably kill everyone!

"Screw it! Team up with the Notorious Hamlord! Let's kill this bastard slowly and painfully!"

"Huh?" The boss sensed a foreboding sense of doom coming and slowly back one step back towards the edge. "No! No! I can't lose!"

"Justice is served, you freak!" Harvard did one final -100 attack to its neck and then its head flew off and shot into the wall and exploded. "Ha! There you go! Heads up guys, he's about to fall over!"

Boom!

Hamlord smiled and then saw a very sad message appear.

[You have lost 150,000,000 Lograms and have been kicked out of the Dungeon Competition. Come to watch teh finals to see the festivities and get some great snacks!]
