Fallen Fate Online

Chapter 114 Luxury

Galahan voiced his offer and with a confident smirk on his face awaited an answer. Zayne saw the fire in his eyes, which made him smile slightly and say, "Well, I agree."

"Hehehe, I'm definitely getting lucky today!" Galahan chuckled in excitement.

Perhaps Zayne would have said no, but Galahan chose the right tactic. By giving Zayne what he needed, Galahan had put him at ease, so Zayne had no reason or desire to refuse.

'When those letters came to me I didn't think it was a big deal... Moreover, those lost money, I quickly made in Fallen Fate, but Galahan... Damn, I'm scared to even imagine how rich he is.' Zayne pondered, appreciating Galahan's expensive accessories.

'Well, in that case, let's not waste any time. I'm sure you're a busy man just as much as I am." Galahan waved as he headed for the exit.

Zayne looked at him, "Wait... I didn't expect to meet you here. I was coming here to see my sister... You said she would wake up soon."

Galahan turned around, glanced at Mia, and nodded, "Yeah, the nurse gave her a shot, her name is Rubia I think. I know you're worried about your sister, but the nurse said she won't wake up for another five hours. Anyway, there's plenty of time to get things done and get back to Fallen Fate Online!"

Zayne tilted his head, "What... You play Fallen Fate too?" Zayne wasn't expecting that at all.

"Of course! There are millions already spinning in that game! I just couldn't get past something that could change our world!" Galahan exclaimed, which made Zayne wary.

'Damn... Does he know about this already...? Zayne flinched.

Galahan's eyes flashed a golden gleam, "Platinum Post is sure to become the main platform for those who want to know the most interesting news about the most popular game in the whole world!"

'Agh... No, so far he only knows about the opportunity to make even more money...' Zayne inwardly sighed with relief.

Crackling.

Galahan left the room as the bodyguards followed him. A few minutes later, Zayne and Galahan were sitting across from each other in a luxury car that Zayne had only seen in the movies.

He felt as if he had made the leap from the bottom to the top in the blink of an eye.

"Where are we going?" Zayne asked uncertainly.

Galahan smirked, "Downtown, to the Platinum Tower. It's a skyscraper that belongs entirely to the Platinum Post."

"You own an entire skyscraper...?" Zayne muttered in disbelief, to him it was something impossible.

"Hahaha, it's not that simple. I am the main shareholder in Platinum Post, not the sole owner, so technically I only own part of the Platinum Tower as well as of the Platinum Post. However, at the very top is my house, so I have nothing to complain about." Galahan waved his hand as if it were obvious.

It was a long drive, but the road was pleasant; despite the bad road in places, the car never shook once, and the path was completely smooth.

"Khm." Galahan coughed, "Zayne, are you drinking?"

Zayne nodded silently, which gave Galahan a satisfied grin.

"Fine, in that case, I know how to brighten our wait." Galahan opened the freezer that was right in the car and pulled out several glasses of ice as well as a bottle of whiskey.

Zayne gulped. He was curious how the strong alcohol tasted, but also a little worried since the strongest thing he had tasted before was wine.

Galahan poured the amber liquid into two chilling glasses and set the bottle aside. He had done this hundred of times and was already anticipating the familiar taste.

"'Cheers to a continued partnership!" Galahan exclaimed and drank it all in one gulp.

Zayne sighed and tasted the whiskey for the first time. His eyes went wide as the hot fire spread down his throat, then he felt a powerful rush of pleasure.

"How's that?" Galahan smirked, putting his hands together.

"Not bad... Although, at first I thought my throat was going to burn..." Zayne muttered, under the impression.

"Hahaha, not bad? Damn, that bottle is worth 1,500 credits! Sounds like you have pretty high standards, doesn't it?" Galahan laughed.

Zayne simply remained silent. He didn't want to think about the fact that this whiskey cost as much as his two former salaries, so he decided to just enjoy the taste.

Half an hour later they stopped, and the bodyguard opened the door with a respectful bow, "Mr. Galahan, Mr. Zayne, we have arrived."

Galahan nodded and got out of the car, and headed for the main entrance of one of the tallest skyscrapers in the entire city. Zayne followed him, appreciating the skyscraper whose edges glowed in the sunlight as if it were one great treasure.

Behind them walked two bodyguards who looked intently at everything around them. After all, Galahan was a man who had many enemies, though a man of his status had nothing to worry about. He was more influential than every one of his rivals.

'Damn... I've never been in this neighborhood... Everything here looks so expensive.' Zayne said to himself looking at the people walking the streets. It was mostly girls in fancy dresses and men in expensive suits.

"Hey, Zayne, what are you stuck in there for?" Galahan turned around, "Our chief interviewer is already waiting for you. We should hurry!"

Zayne nodded, "Yeah, I understand."

The Platinum Tower had over a hundred floors, so there were dozens of people at the entrance, some of whom threw contemptuous glances at Zayne. To them he looked like a poor guy, especially considering his old torn coat.

Galahan noticed this and, as though on purpose, put his hand on Zayne's shoulder and gave him a slight hug, as if they were old friends and knew each other very well.

"Agh...?" Zayne gave him a puzzled look, "What's gotten into you?"

"Nothing much. Just trying to show my goodwill. After all, you are our special guest tonight!" Galahan exclaimed with a broad smile on his face as he looked at the massive sign above the entrances to the skyscraper - Platinum Post.
