Fallen Fate Online

Chapter 118 Return

"Zayne, I have one more offer for you." Galahan said, not taking his eyes off the snow-capped mountain tops.

"You want to recruit me?" Zayne anticipated Galahan's action.

Galahan shrugged, "That's not quite the right word, but roughly speaking, yes. Look, you're first now, and you might be overtaken soon, but I've always trusted my gut. Zayne, you have a problem, and I'm not trying to hurt you, I want to help you."

"Hmm?" Zayne gave him a questioning look.

"Your sister. I can pay for her treatment." Galahan spoke in a confident voice.

Zayne became more serious and said in a sharp tone, "Are you sure about that? My sister's illness is special because the problem is her immune system, which has begun to work improperly due to toxins entering her body..."

Galahan nodded, "Don't bother explaining. I hope you're not mad at me, but I've learned as much as I can about your sister and the situation in general. I have my ways, you know."

Zayne nodded deeply, "So you understand that it takes just one syringe to treat my sister, but the cost is 1,500,000 credits... Galahan, you're definitely rich, but doesn't that kind of money mean anything to you?"

Galahan shrugged, "Yeah, it would be expensive even for me, but consider it an investment in the future, however, I can afford it without hurting my wallet. Pretty soon, when the world is ruled by the strongest, not the richest, you'll see for yourself."

"So... What do you want from me in return? I am grateful to you, but after all, this is a deal, not a gift." Zayne looked coldly at Galahan, causing him to shiver slightly.

Galahan remained silent until he said, "Nothing yet. Anyway, all the main events will take place in Fallen Fate, so we all need to move on there. However, I want your word that if something happens, you'll help me and take the side of the Platinum Post."

"Your word...? What if I deceive you? There's nothing stopping me from just getting what I need from you and then leaving." Zayne glanced at Galahan.

Galahan sighed, "Yeah, you're right, but in our case, would contracts do any good? The whole thing is gradually becoming pointless. I just know you're not the type of person who would do this, consider it my life experience."

"In that case, I'll go. I still have to see my sister." Zayne said calmly as he headed for the exit.

Galahan said nothing, he just kept looking ahead, thinking about something with a slight frown.

Crackle.

The elevator closed, going down quickly. At the same moment, Galahan pulled out his phone and made several calls.

"Yeah, it all worked out. It went even better than I thought it would, so did the rest. We have to show our intentions in full." Galahan said with a serious expression before hanging up.

...

Zayne stepped out of the Platinum Tower and looked around. He had to get back to the hospital somehow, so he was going to call a cab.

However, as soon as he pulled out his phone, a black car stopped in front of him, and a man with gray hair and a dark chauffeur's hat got out of it. He leaned against the car, crossed his arms over his chest, and his blue eyes looked at Zayne.

"Mr. Zayne, let me escort you to the hospital. This is a personal order from Mr. Galahan." The man said with a sly smile.

Zayne glanced at the top of the Platinum Tower, nodded slightly, and stepped forward. He got into the car and sighed with relief as they moved on.

"You know, you don't look like those bodyguards at all, and neither does the chauffeur." Zayne muttered, staring at the man, who tried to look as natural as possible.

"Hah, you got me." The man smirked, dropped his hat, and his driving style changed completely. He put one foot on the other and left only one hand on the steering wheel as all seriousness disappeared from his face so he acted as relaxed as possible.

"My name is Alex Weil, and yes, you're right, I'm not a chauffeur. Let's just say that if Galahan is the formal person, I'm the one who does all the behind-the-scenes stuff. For example, I was the one who got those syringes for your sister, I was in the right place in time to get you to the hospital, and there's another surprise waiting for you next." Alex said with a slight smile on his face.

"You embarrass me." Zayne said coldly, "Aren't you paying too much attention to me?"

"Well, Galahan and I sometimes act impulsively, and we've had big problems because of it, but right now I'm sure you're our best bet ever." Alex smirked as he pushed the gas to full power, and the car quickly went several times faster.

Zayne wanted to tell him to slow down since Alex didn't stop even when the red light was on, but then he felt strangely relieved.

'Damn... We're going at a huge speed, and yet I don't feel it at all... It's like everything around us has slowed down...' Zayne inwardly muttered, looking out the window.

After a few minutes, they stopped in front of the hospital entrance, and Alex opened the door for Zayne.

"When you talk to your sister then come back here, I'll be waiting for you here." Alex waved his hand with narrowed eyes, "Good luck."

Zayne nodded and headed forward.

He sighed and opened the door, going inside. It should have been sunset soon, so the sun's rays slowly receded over the horizon, falling on Mia's face. Just as Galahan said, she was already awake.

"Brother..." Mia muttered with a happy smile, "I don't know why, but I feel great today!"

Zayne nodded, "Well, credit to my mate. By the way, I have some very important news for you."

"Agh...?" Mia gave him a questioning look as she touched her lips.

...

An hour later, the sun had already completely disappeared behind the mountains, so Zayne's time was coming to an end, Mia needed to rest.

"When I can I will visit you." Zayne said softly as he leaned over and kissed Mia on the forehead.

"Ughum." Mia nodded, "By the way... I don't know if it makes any difference, but tell your friend thanks... I may still be a teenager, but I realize that my treatment costs a lot of money..." Mia muttered with a slightly sad look.

"Friend... right?" Zayne breathed while shaking his head, "Sure. I'm certain he'll be glad to know that."

Zayne left the room with a slight smile on his face. He tried not to show it, but inside he was happier than ever. There may have been great changes ahead, but this was not the end of the world, which meant that the most important thing for him was to cure his sister, and he was already very close to that goal.

"Oh, you're back already. Fine, in that case, let's go." Alex said, shaking off the crumbs from the cookies as he tossed the empty package aside.

"Hmm? Where to?" Zayne tilted his head in confusion.

"To your house."

...

The drive only took a few minutes, so Zayne was already in front of his door, opening it. He wanted to get a quick bite and get back to Fallen Fate Online, but instead, he just froze in place with wide-open eyes.

"What the hell...?" Zayne muttered staring at his, completely empty house, with only dust left inside.
