Chapter 78: The Nature Sprite

Chapter 78: The Nature Sprite

A series of lines appeared.

As usual, Thor's gaze swept over them one by one.

His mind was still contemplating how to deal with the impending crisis.

However, in the midst of his thoughts, the next piece of information that appeared caused his pupils to contract violently.

"Nature Sprite!"

He muttered to himself, his eyes filled with surprise and disbelief.

Elves.

In this world, they are undoubtedly synonymous with nobility.

Every elf is inherently a master archer and mage.

Like Anna, who, despite being only half-elf, possesses an extraordinary magical talent.

Thor never expected that so close to his territory, an elf was about to be born, and not just any forest elf, but the even rarer Nature Sprite.

During his time away from the Dresrosa castle, he had read numerous books.

He had gained a considerable understanding of the entire world.

Elves were no exception.

According to the ancient records, elves were also categorized.

Aside from the special existence of half-elves, the biggest distinction was between forest elves and Nature Sprites.

Forest elves are generally born from the Tree of Life. They are nurtured by the fruit of the Tree of Life, and from birth, they possess considerable magical talent and a natural affinity with plants.

If Allen's universal affinity could cover all living beings, then the forest elves' plant affinity would be maxed out. In terms of plants alone, forest elves are stronger.

The Nature Sprites, on the other hand, are different from forest elves. Though both are elves, they are not exactly the same entity.

Nature Sprites are incarnations of elements. Each birth is blessed by the Goddess of Life, granting them the power to control elements and a natural, powerful affinity with them.

If forest elves have strong magical talent, then Nature Sprites are magic itself.

Moreover, Nature Sprites can form a symbiotic contract with forest elves, allowing both to grow rapidly.

Initially, Nature Sprites are fragile, while forest elves are relatively strong and protected by the Mother Tree of Life, providing Nature Sprites with space to grow.

If forest elves obtain a contract with a Nature Sprite, they can enhance their talents and potential, growing into even more powerful elves.

Reading this information and thinking about the half-elf maid, Thor couldn't help but feel a strange expression come over him.

There was no Tree of Life here, nor were there any other elves.

This piece of information seemed to be a fortuitous opportunity sent directly to the half-elf girl.

Perhaps if he hadn't purchased Anna, she would have been bought by another lord in the Northern Province, and through a twist of fate, contracted with the Nature Sprite.

As long as the Nature Sprite contract was established, the higher-level symbiotic contract would completely override the lower-level slave contract, freeing Anna from the shackles of slavery.

"It truly is the Goddess of Life's blessing!"

Thor murmured softly and shook his head.

Having lived two lives, Thor understood, more than most people in this era, that this world has always had those blessed by the heavens.

Ryan was such a person, and so was Anna.

And beyond them, there would be many more.

It's just that in the vast crowd, they are often overlooked.

This wasn't surprising.

His thoughts shifted, and he prepared to continue considering the next steps.

However, soon, his actions paused.

His gaze once again fell upon the information.

"Perhaps I could give it a try!"

He muttered to himself, and the thought in his mind could no longer be suppressed.

Ideas flashed through his mind rapidly.

The night passed gradually.

Morning came.

Sunlight poured down with the dawn.

A new day began again.

The entire Eagle Ridge was once more engulfed in busyness.

Inside a room in the castle, there was a soft knock on the door.

"Come in!" A gentle voice sounded.

"Cre-eak!"

The door opened softly, and Anna walked in with a tray of fruit.

"Master, your fruit!"

Anna spoke cautiously.

"Thank you, just leave it here!"

"Also, Alice, stay a moment!"

Thor nodded, not paying much attention.

Anna carefully placed the fruit to the side, looking somewhat puzzled, but she remained cautious and stayed by his side.

Thor finished dealing with what was in his hands, waved for the servants around to leave, and then looked at the girl.

He didn’t speak.

The room suddenly fell silent.

Anna’s heart began to pound.

"M-Master!"

She spoke cautiously, feeling her heart race as she could clearly feel it thumping in her chest.

At the moment her words fell, Thor’s soft laughter broke the silence.

"Alice, should I call you Anna, or Anna Karenina?"

"Young lady from the Nature Forest, half-elf."

His words carried a faint smile.

However, to Anna, they echoed like thunder.

"You!"

Anna looked up abruptly, her eyes wide with disbelief as she stared at Thor.

At that moment, her delicate face showed a hint of panic, but she quickly suppressed it.

"Master, what are you talking about?"

Anna's voice trembled slightly, no, her entire body was trembling. She knew very well what would happen to an elf in the hands of human nobles.

The reason she chose to stay here and not try to escape again was because she seemed not to have been exposed here, and it was relatively safe.

But now, it seemed that wasn’t the case.

"What am I talking about?"

"Karenina, one of the three great ducal families of the kingdom. It's said that years ago, the second son of Duke Karenina brought back a beautiful elf from the Nature Forest."

"Need I say more?"

Thor smirked.

He wasn’t joking. He had done his homework during this time.

The name Karenina, combined with the fact that she was an elf, made it incredibly easy to find out something.

In fact, he had known from the beginning.

He just hadn't mentioned it.

"You!"

Anna's eyes filled with fear.

But in the next moment, Thor suddenly flung an object toward her.

Startled, Anna immediately conjured a wall of fire in front of her, preparing to retreat.

However, she quickly froze.

"Whoosh!"

The black object collided with the wall of fire, burning instantly.

As it was consumed, a glow intertwined around her, and the invisible shackles binding her dissipated at that moment.

Anna froze.

Her delicate face was full of surprise.

She stared blankly at the burning object, unsure how to react or what to do.

Initially, she had planned to escape.

Even if it meant dying under the slave contract.

But at this moment, she was completely paralyzed.
