Chapter 87: Flooding the Seven Armies

Chapter 87: Flooding the Seven Armies

The sea of flames spread, causing the minotaurs to descend into chaos.

These minotaurs were ultimately just artificially accelerated creatures, far inferior to true minotaurs. In some sense, they were more akin to wild beasts rather than proper beastfolk, serving only as sacrifices rather than actual members of the race.

Now, confronted with the blazing inferno, their beastly instincts kicked in, causing panic. Even the few true minotaurs among them were barely noticeable amidst the chaos of thousands of frenzied creatures.

This situation was causing considerable anxiety among the minotaurs at the peak of the second tier.

“Damn it!”

One of these peak second-tier minotaurs growled fiercely, and the next moment, a blood-red aura surged from its body.

“Boom!”

A powerful aura erupted, and Peros was sent flying backward.

“Urgh!”

Blood spurted from his mouth, and the magical auras surrounding him wavered, on the verge of collapse.

After repelling Peros, the minotaur rushed towards the knights, aiming to destroy the magical crystal cannons. But before it could act, Peros once again threw himself in its path to intercept.

“Boom!”

The powerful life force burst forth once more. Gritting his teeth, Peros also began to overdraw his own life force.

At the same time, the other peak second-tier minotaurs began to exude the same blood-red energy, their power levels rising.

Thor's expression changed. He could no longer hesitate, even though he needed more time. But at this moment, there was no room for delay.

“Mark!”

He shouted, and in the next moment, within the knight's ranks, a magical crystal cannon rose into the sky, shooting up into the heavens.

“Boom!”

In the sky, the cannon's light burst forth, and thunderbolts filled the sky, detectable even from dozens of miles away.

In the distance, upstream of the Maine River, Rachos Assad was already stationed there with a contingent of troops. Before them stood a massive dam, over a hundred meters long and fifty meters high, the result of Thor's leadership in collaboration with the three baronial territories over the past period.

In this supernatural world, such a colossal project became quite simple to achieve.

The moment the thunder appeared in the sky, Rachos Assad did not hesitate. He waved his hand, and the knights threw prepared magical scrolls onto the dam.

“Boom!”

“Boom!”

“Boom, boom.”

A series of massive explosions tore the dam apart instantly. The huge volume of water that Thor had been accumulating surged out violently.

At this time, the Maine River was at its peak flood season, and with a month of continuous rainfall, the dam had gathered an enormous volume of water. As the dam shattered, the water roared downwards, covering everything in its path.

The floodwaters surged forward like a stampede of wild horses, with the power to destroy everything in their path. In an instant, hundreds of meters were covered, devastating vast areas and continuing toward Thor's Eagle Ridge and beyond.

Back on the battlefield, the sea of flames continued to spread, and the second-tier minotaurs were still in the midst of their rampage. The knights of the Maine River Valley were visibly struggling to hold their ground. Moreover, after a period of chaos, the elite minotaurs began extinguishing the fires. The recent heavy rains had left the air extremely humid, reducing the effectiveness of the incendiary oil.

“Boom!”

Another figure was sent flying. Blood trickled from Peros' mouth, and his consciousness began to blur. If not for the protection of his silver armor, the minotaur's strike would have killed him.

And it wasn’t just him; cracks had appeared in Steve's silver armor as well. This was silver armor, and yet it was starting to fail.

Thor’s face paled as layers of light from his golden armor flared up, barely holding off the peak second-tier minotaur’s attacks. The magical auras surrounding him had already shattered.

“Lord Thor, we can’t hold out much longer!”

Not far away, Pape Lawrence was fending off two peak second-tier minotaurs by himself, looking equally anxious. The others weren't faring much better, especially the two pioneering lords. Though they had indeed reached the rank of Grand Knights, their strength was still rather limited. They were barely able to handle regular second-tier minotaurs, let alone these that had unleashed their secret techniques.

The situation was rapidly deteriorating. If they couldn't hold the line, the eleven peak second-tier minotaurs would soon break through and overwhelm the entire knightly order.

In this supernatural world, individual power was paramount. One peak second-tier minotaur could easily obliterate a pioneering territory. Likewise, a Grand Knight could effortlessly wipe out a second-tier beastfolk tribe.

Thor and his companions were now facing such a challenge. The peak second-tier beastfolk were proving too difficult to resist. If they broke through, it would be a devastating blow to the Maine River Valley's defenses, potentially shattering the knightly order.

No matter what, they had to hold the line. Thor and two others were managing to hold back three peak second-tier minotaurs, but the remaining nine were still a formidable challenge, especially since these minotaurs had begun using secret techniques to boost their power.

If they couldn't stop them, the knights would suffer heavy losses. This was no longer a situation like before, where a few official knights could hold back Steve because he had just broken through and hadn't gone all out. Now, against the minotaurs, the outcome was completely different.

With only a dozen or so official knights left, they had to fend off two second-tier minotaurs, and the losses were clearly visible. This had the three barons and the two pioneering lords worried.

But despite their anxiety, Thor remained silent, with no time to respond. His ice life force continued to surge as he held off the peak second-tier minotaur before him. Though he was steadily retreating, he still managed to resist.

Finally, during another clash, Thor suddenly sensed something. A trace of joy crossed his face as he immediately turned his head.

His opponent, the peak second-tier minotaur, also seemed to sense it and paused, turning its gaze in the same direction as Thor.

At that very moment, a deafening roar filled their ears, and a massive flood appeared on the horizon, sweeping across the entire battlefield and capturing everyone's attention.

The flood surged forward, blotting out the sky and the sun, carrying an unstoppable force that obliterated everything in its path. Its target was the thousands of minotaurs still trapped in the sea of flames.
