Fantasy Lord: Starting with Daily Information

Chapter 95: The Stir in Loren City

Chapter 95: The Stir in Loren City

Outside Eagle Ridge.

A large group of troops arrived in a grand procession.

“Is this Eagle Ridge ahead?”

“It’s truly surprising.”

Looking at the golden rice fields and the orderly, dense buildings in front of him, Frank Corrado was quite taken aback.

When he received the order from Marquis Raymond to verify, he was already surprised.

He knew well the current chaotic situation in the Northern Province. During such turmoil, someone achieving the merits to be promoted to baron was unexpected.

When information about Thor Dresrosa was presented to him, his surprise grew even more.

This pioneering knight had only been in the Northern Province for about a year as a pioneer lord. In just one year, he had already earned the merits for baronship, something rarely seen in the Northern Province for a long time.

However, knowing Thor was a descendant of the Dresrosa family made things clearer. But even with this understanding, seeing Eagle Ridge’s development shocked him again. It didn’t look like a territory that had only been developed for a year—this scale was hard even for lords who had been developing their territories for over three years.

Even as a descendant of Dresrosa, it was still astonishing.

Given the current evaluation by the kingdom, Thor’s achievements likely met all the necessary requirements.

Inside Eagle Ridge.

Thor, along with Steve, Peros, and a large entourage, hurried over to greet the newcomers.

“Inspector Frank Corrado! Secretary Frankie!”

“Welcome to Eagle Ridge.”

Thor dismounted, smiling as he performed a knight’s bow.

“Lord Thor, you’re too kind!”

“We will be bothering you for a few days.”

Frank Corrado replied with a smile, showing no arrogance despite his noble status and role as a kingdom’s inspector. He knew better than to underestimate frontier nobles—after all, two of the Grand Dukes of the Tulip Kingdom had risen from pioneer lords, not to mention that Marquis Raymond himself was once a pioneer lord.

“Inspector, you’re too polite!”

“The castle has already prepared a banquet.”

Thor nodded, guiding the two into Eagle Ridge.

Once inside, Frank Corrado could feel the distinctiveness of the territory even more. As an inspector who had spent five years in the Northern Province, he had seen many territories, but none exuded the vitality and vigor that Eagle Ridge did.

Along the way, he noticed that everyone, from serfs and knights to freemen, greeted Thor with visible respect and fervor—a loyalty usually seen only in the most devoted guardian knights.

Even the typically indifferent serfs showed this reverence, which was simply unimaginable.

The banquet commenced.

Plates of exquisite food were served, and Frank Corrado engaged Thor in cheerful conversation, both men smiling throughout the night.

The next day.

Frank Corrado, accompanied by Peros, began verifying the recent battles. The process wasn’t complex, especially with the clear evidence of the battle against the minotaurs, which simplified things further.

In less than three days, all verifications were complete.

In the Eagle Fortress.

“By the Goddess of Life, Lord Thor, I must say, your accomplishments are astonishing.”

“Those were thousands of minotaurs, including thirteen second-tier minotaurs. Even Marquis’s Flying Eagle Knights might struggle with that, yet you actually managed to defeat them.”

“Other cowardly nobles would have run away by now.”

Frank Corrado spoke with awe. He knew firsthand the severity of what had been achieved—it was nothing short of a miracle that a force of thousands of minotaurs, capable of overwhelming nearly all noble lords in the Northern Province, had been defeated.

“Viscount Frank Corrado, it was just luck!”

“Moreover, this is the kingdom’s granted territory. As lords, we have a duty to protect our land and people, and cannot abandon them, no matter the cost.”

Thor smiled modestly, speaking with sincerity.

“Well said!”

“Lord Thor, you are indeed a qualified lord, and I am confident you will make a worthy baron.”

“The baronship ceremony will be held fifteen days from now in Loren City. You should arrive three days in advance.”

Frank Corrado spoke with a serious tone, acknowledging Thor’s achievements.

“Thank you!”

“I will certainly arrive on time.”

Thor nodded, feeling a surge of excitement. It had taken a full year to reach this point, and the anticipation was palpable.

“Farewell, Lord Thor.”

Frank Corrado waved before departing Eagle Ridge with his entourage. Thor watched them until they disappeared from view.

“Lord!”

“Sir!”

Steve, Ryan, and Peros spoke up, their eyes filled with excitement.

“Prepare everything. Check if Eagle Ridge needs to procure anything. Ryan, delegate your tasks; we depart for Loren City in three days.”

“Steve, you’ll reorganize the guard at the iron mines. Peros, you’ll handle Eagle Ridge affairs. If issues arise, contact Baron Pape and the other two barons.”

Thor’s heart was pounding with excitement. A year of struggles and efforts had led him to this moment, and he could hardly contain his feelings.

Despite his excitement, Thor efficiently made the necessary arrangements. The war was over, and Eagle Ridge had settled its matters in the past few days, so it was time to resume production. Steve was the perfect candidate for managing this. Peros, as a grand knight in charge of the fledgling Eagle Knight Order, would ensure the security of the territory while continuing the knights’ training.
