“Lin Ya?” Qiao Sisi closed the door and took a few steps closer.

Lin Ya opened her eyes slightly, her consciousness blurred. “Sisi?”

“I’m here. Come, have some lemonade. You will sober up,” said Qiao Sisi. She helped Lin Ya sit up and gently fed her the lemonade.

Lin Ya took a few mouthfuls and her throat felt better. She said blankly, “Sisi, I think I saw someone just now.”

“Someone?”

Qiao Sisi frowned doubtfully, then relaxed and smiled. “Alright, you remembered wrongly. You were a little unwell when you were drunk. Finish this and go to bed.”

Hearing this, Lin Ya nodded half-understandingly and finished the entire glass of lemonade.

After drinking, Lin Ya fell fast asleep. Qiao Sisi tucked her in and took her clothes to the bathroom to take a shower.

After her shower, the bathroom was filled with steam. Qiao Sisi’s hair was still dripping wet. She wrapped her head with a towel and stepped out of the bathroom.

It was a beautiful night. The window in the room was not closed.

Qiao Sisi looked at the night view for a while before receiving a message on her phone. It was from Chen Anna

Chen Anna: [Have you been having so much fun that you’ve forgotten me?]

There was a crying emoji at the end of the text. Qiao Sisi could not help but laugh. After laughing, she replied

Qiao Sisi: [How would I dare to forget you? Don’t worry, I have a surprise for you.]

She would be going back to the office tomorrow. In the morning, she would go shopping at Jade Street to see if there was any suitable gift for Chen Anna.

As for Zheng Zeyi…

Qiao Sisi hesitated for a moment. Thinking about how Zheng Zeyi had helped her so much, she decided to spend some money to buy a gift for him.

After chatting with Chen Anna for a while, it was almost midnight.

Qiao Sisi yawned and turned off her phone and the bedside lamp. She lay on the bed and was soon lost in her dreams.

It had been a tiring day, and she did not notice that something was missing from the drawer.

The next morning.

When Lin Ya woke up, she had a splitting headache. She held her head and wailed.

“Sisi… My head hurts.”

Qiao Sisi had woken up very early. When she heard Lin Ya, she got up and poured her a glass of water. “Who asked you to drink so much yesterday? It’s too late to regret now.”

“Why did you drink so much but not get drunk?” Lin Ya’s eyes were resentful as she raised her head and drank all the water. She finally felt better.

“My drinking capacity is too good.”

“Tch.” Lin Ya rolled her eyes and said, “I remember Assistant Li said yesterday that we’re leaving for H City this afternoon?”

The junior assistant had mentioned this during lunch yesterday. As the company had an emergency at the last minute, their itinerary had been changed.

Qiao Sisi chuckled and said, “I thought you’d forgotten. I didn’t expect you to remember.”

“Of course. I was drunk, not stupid. Of course I remember,” Lin Ya said smugly, raising her eyebrows.

Seeing this, Qiao Sisi smiled but did not say anything.

The two of them chatted for a while before they packed their luggage. They would be setting off in the afternoon.

Qiao Sisi packed all her clothes into her suitcase and glanced around the room, thinking of something she had missed.

Her gaze fell on the drawer where she had put the gifts that Zheng Zeyi gave her yesterday.

Thinking of Zheng Zeyi’s words and that book, the corners of Qiao Sisi’s lips curled up. Actually, Zheng Zeyi is not a bad person, she thought.

At least that precious book is really very important.

Zheng Zeyi was even willing to give me the book and a bracelet. If not for the fact that Zheng Zeyi is Yang Yueyue’s cousin…

Perhaps I won’t be arguing with him every time I see him.

Dada…

Qiao Sisi walked quickly to the bed and opened the drawer. She was about to reach in to take the gift bag when she realized that the drawer was empty.

How is this possible?! she thought.

Qiao Sisi frowned and looked at the other drawers in disbelief. They were empty.

She remembered that she had clearly placed the bag in this drawer yesterday. Why has it disappeared? she wondered.

Could it be that… I remembered wrongly when I was drunk?

“No, let’s look again,” Qiao Sisi muttered and looked around the room where bags might be placed.

However, she could not find the bag anywhere.

On the side, Lin Ya was packing up. Seeing that Qiao Sisi was looking for something anxiously, she asked curiously, “Sisi, what are you looking for? Did you lose something?”

Qiao Sisi nodded and asked anxiously, “Little Ya, did you see a gift bag with a ribbon on it? It’s the one I brought back last night.”

That book was really too important. It was Grandma Chen’s painstaking expression of her lifetime’s work. She must not lose it.

“I… didn’t notice.” Lin Ya thought for a moment but could not remember.

Yesterday, Qiao Sisi had indeed brought a gift bag into the restaurant, but few people noticed this.

In addition, Lin Ya got drunk and had no recollection of what happened after that.

Hearing Lin Ya’s words, Qiao Sisi sat on the bed and forced herself to calm down and think about what happened last night.

Last night… when she sent Lin Ya to her room, she had put the bag in the drawer.

Qiao Sisi was sure that the gift bag was still there when she sent Lin Ya back to her room. The problem was after she left!

Qiao Sisi narrowed her eyes slightly. Who had been in the room when I went downstairs to make lemonade for Lin Ya?

Recalling how Lin Ya seemed to have seen someone in a daze last night, the answer was obvious.

“Little Ya, do you remember who came to the room last night?” Qiao Sisi’s eyes lit up as she asked abruptly.

Lin Ya was dumbfounded at the question.

She scratched her head and said uncertainly, “Did I say that I saw someone last night? Why don’t I remember…”

There was a moment of silence in the room.

Qiao Sisi pursed her lips and said worriedly, “Little Ya, think again. When I left the room to get you lemonade last night, did someone enter?”

Lin Ya thought about this carefully. She patted her head and frowned tightly as she searched her memory from the previous night.

“I think… so.”

A moment later, Lin Ya spoke. When she was resting in bed last night, she seemed to have heard a knock on the door.

“It was quite a strong knock. I remember that I had gone to open the door, but I’m sorry, Sisi. I really can’t remember what happened after that,” Lin Ya said apologetically.

She had drunk too much last night and her head was still hurting.

Other than what happened before she got drunk, she had basically forgotten everything else about last night.
