Forbidden Zone of the Human Race

Chapter 142: Conclusion

Hearing the cheers of the crowd, even Wu Rui felt that he was dreaming. What had he just done? He was fighting against Xiang Ning, and he actually blocked his attack. Was he really that strong, or did Xiang Ning lower his strength?

When the two of them took a step back after the clash, he still couldn’t process what had happened.

Xiang Ning, on the other hand, had finally found what he was looking for. His prediction that fighting with Wu Rui with a handicap would give him a lot of experience points was indeed correct. While he wasn’t in peak form, it was just right to fight on even grounds with Wu Rui.

He could finally use all of the techniques he had learned!

“You’re good,” Xiang Ning declared. He knew that he wasn’t wrong in challenging Wu Rui.

“What’d I just hear? Xiang Ning actually praised Wu Rui? Is this the rivalry between the strong?”

“Crazy! He actually blocked Xiang Ning’s Mountain-Splitting Slash! That’s a technique that sent everyone flying!”

Even Li Bu laughed heartily. “Look at my student! I have a genius in my academy!”

Regardless of everyone chanting his name, Wu Rui was actually extremely nervous. Now that Xiang Ning has said that, it was most likely that he would use his real strength. He already knew what Xiang Ning was capable of; his strength was nowhere near this low. It seemed that he was testing Wu Rui. While his mind was racing, his facial expression revealed nothing. He stood tall against the daunting pressure. Everyone else revered him as the brave savior!

The two clashed once again and explosions boomed. The dull thud of someone being hit echoed throughout the arena, and everyone was holding their breath.

At the side of the arena, Sakar was staring at the match in a daze. Didn’t Wu Rui lose to me many times? How could he fight with Xiang Ning for so long?

He even injured Xiang Ning, the monster that had only been slightly wounded when he was facing ten people. But now, Wu Rui was taking every hit from Xiang Ning, while in exchange, every single attack of his connected with Xiang Ning. Neither of them looked too good as bruises covered their entire bodies.

What started as a clash between weapons turned into a fistfight instead, their weapons lying discarded on the ground.

“Wu Rui is truly befitting of someone who hails from a martial clan! He could actually force Xiang Ning to use a never-before-seen close combat technique!”

That was partially true, but it wasn’t really a technique. It was just something that Xiang Ning picked up as he grew up to protect his sister from the many bullies. It was basically street fighting.

The two landed fierce blows on each other before taking a few steps back and Xiang Ning suddenly smiled. “You are really the best!” He was ecstatic. His experience points were drastically increasing.

Tier two, five-star martial artist.

In just two minutes, he had obtained six thousand experience points! He felt a strong surge of energy coursing through his muscles and he laughed like a maniac with bruises all over his face. He had achieved his goal and it was time to end it.

Naturally, everyone felt his breakthrough.

“Fuck! He actually had a breakthrough!”

“Oh no! He just got stronger! What about Wu Rui?”

Wu Rui had a very ugly grin on his bruised face, too. Bastard, he really is using me as a whetstone to polish himself! He was frustrated, because he was used as the final stepping stone, but suddenly he felt his entire body get lighter. His bruises were heating up as his heart pumped harder, with every heartbeat as strong as thunder.

He had a breakthrough too!

“Oh my god! Wu Rui had a breakthrough too!”

“The two strongest students in Marsh City clashed and got stronger at the same time!”

“This.…”

The crowd fell silent as they sensed that the climax was near.

“It’s time to end this,” Xiang Ning stated.

“Yeah, let’s end this.” Wu Rui was happy that he could finally be free of the suffering. He was no longer of any value to Xiang Ning. He silently picked up his rod while Xiang Ning picked up his sword.

“They’re going to decide it in one final blow!” No one knew who said that, but the crowd remained silent. They were too nervous to even make a peep. These were the final moments of a fight between two prodigies.

Even the two headmasters, who had each experienced many hardships, grew nervous.

In Qiling Academy, Fang Rou clenched both of her fists. She wanted to go to Hanwu Academy so badly….

“Mountain-Splitting Slash!” Xiang Ning roared as he used all of his strength. He felt refreshed to be able to use all of his might in a fight like this.

“Crushing Blow!” Wu Rui responded with all of his strength too.

Everyone saw the weapons were getting closer and held their breath. Who would stand victorious?

A giant shockwave tore through the air and almost blew some of them off their seats.

The outcome had been decided.

“So we still lost.” Li Bu sighed as he saw Wu Rui lying on the ground while Xiang Ning was standing, albeit with laborious breathing and using his sword as a cane.

“To be able to fight Xiang Ning to this state, he’s already an excellent student. Congratulations on having a genius in your academy.” Qi Jiuming consoled him, but he was actually very happy on the inside.

Hanwu Academy was silent. They had lost, but at least they’d lost honorably. After this fight, their animosity toward Xiang Ning had decreased. They remembered how they had insulted him when he first arrived, but now they realized that they were the clowns to think that Hanwu Academy was the strongest academy in Marsh City. They were just regular students.

But now, no one else could fight against Xiang Ning.…

Their pride had been trampled on the ground, but they willingly accepted their loss. Xiang Ning had used his absolute strength to crush them. No one knew who started clapping, but soon the entire arena was filled with applause.

It was dedicated to Wu Rui and Xiang Ning both.
