Forbidden Zone of the Human Race

Chapter 209: Sunset

A tier seven martial artist wasn’t usually seen in the wilderness. Due to the stampede, Tranquil City was in hot waters. And in order to calm the citizens, Fang Zhenyuan released a statement saying that he was still in Tranquil City. As long as people checked, they would know that he was indeed still there.

In just five minutes the entire chatroom exploded.

“Oh my God! He’s in Tranquil City!”

“No way!”

“If that’s true, then aren’t these guys afraid of being killed?”

The screen suddenly zoomed into the gate of the outpost. They were showing how Li Yunfei was killing all the beasts. The camera quality was so good that they could see the pores of his skin.

“This guy… where’ve we seen him before?”

“Oh shit! it's real!”

“He’s the man responsible for fighting against the Kaiser Aurumsaur a few days ago!”

“Is he throwing his life away?!”

Soon, everyone understood that the livestream was real, since Li Yunfei was real. He had some popularity due to his fight the other day.

The scene changed again, and it was focused on Bird this time.

“Oh, I think I forgot to tell you. The rescue team in the outpost was sent to rescue Fang Zhenyuan’s son. Do you think Fang Zhenyuan would abandon Tranquil City to come and save him instead?” Bird was laughing like a maniac. “I wonder if you’re seeing this. I’ll wait for you here. This sunset will be the last your son and daughter will ever see.”

The livestream abruptly ended. Now, everyone was afraid of Bird. Initially, they thought he was sick in the head, but he was more like a devil now.

“Despicable!”

“To think that they’d plot against Master Fang!”

“What’ll happen to Tranquil City if he really went to save his family?”

“Yeah! They want him to leave Tranquil City so that they can invade and destroy it!”

“Sunset… is he going to destroy the outpost by then?”

Everyone, especially those in Tranquil City, was shivering in fear. Before the hour even passed, many civilians had already gathered in front of the central building with banners, hoping that Master Fang would stay and protect them.

Humans were selfish creatures. They would expect you to protect them if you were strong. The weak gathered in a group to protect themselves, and they expected the strong to protect them instead of rescuing a select few people. Some might feel that it was unfair, but it was just the truth. The scene was also captured and posted online.

In a flash, many experts were debating the situation. Some felt that Master Fang should go and save his children, while the rest were saying that Master Fang should stay in Tranquil City to protect everyone else.

Xiang Ning’s popularity was instantly snuffed by the latest news and debates.

As for the main character in question, he was racing down the road at a tremendous speed. Most of the beasts were left in the dust, while he only encountered a few dangerous ones. But still, he didn’t slow down. He was only thinking about Fang Rou and had abandoned all thoughts about farming for Experience and Fury Points along the way.

After three hours, he finally saw the outpost on the horizon. The overheating symbol had already been flashing on his Windbreaker for a while, indicating how fast he had gone along the way. Because of that, he had no choice but to hide the Windbreaker and run the rest of the way. Luckily he was only five kilometers away, he should arrive in fifteen minutes if he ran at full speed!

But just as he was traversing a small gorge, he saw some suspicious shadows. It was the cult members of the Seven Deadly Sins!

Numerous plans hatched in his head before he decided to use Disguise and follow them. He felt that even if he reached the outpost and helped them fight against the beasts, they had a very slim opportunity to escape. He decided to blend in and cause some havoc to increase their chances of survival. As the old saying goes: the mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind.

The cult members in front of him were the remainders of the previous group he had seen before. They were being led up a small hill by a guy in a toad mask.

Xiang Ning blended in and walked quickly with them. Soon, there were twenty or more cult members gathered within a camouflaged tent. He hid behind some boulders and tried eavesdropping.

“Toad, you almost missed the timing.” It was Bird’s voice.

“How’s the situation?” Toad wasn’t interested in Bird’s antics and went straight to the point.

Hearing his tone, Bird dismissively answered, “We’ve delayed the rescue team. They brought quite a few people, and there’s even one very strong martial artist among them. It’s a bit hard to do this.”

“No matter, as long as we secure the Fang family’s daughter,” Toad said without interest. “Gather the men, we’ll strike soon.”

“Wait, why’re you in a rush? I’m not done speaking yet.”

“What else do you have to say?”

Bird told him all about the livestream in the afternoon. “you see, Toad, if I were to do this, my lord Envy will surely praise me. It’s the best way to spread the influence of the Seven Deadly Sins.”

Toad agreed, “Good job.” Their plan was to lure Fang Zhenyuan out using Fang Rou. The livestream was used to spread their name and instill terror in everyone else.

“When do we strike?”

“Sunset.”

“Why?”

“Don’t you think that the sunset is beautiful? I’ve heard that Fang Zhenyuan’s daughter is also a pretty lady. Just like the sunset, her beauty will fade with it. Don’t you think it's poetic?”

Toad thought he was a sicko. To be fair, he didn’t want to work with someone like Bird, either.

Doge & Chacha's Thoughts

Gosh this Bird dude is so dramatic and annoying. MC better kill them all!! How dare they try to attack Fang Rou.

Fang Zhenyuan is now caught between defending the city and saving his children. :(
