Forbidden Zone of the Human Race

Chapter 58: Blocked Off

Xiang Ning took a long look at Zhao Huatai. The man hadn’t come bearing good intentions, but Xiang Ning didn’t want to escalate the situation. There was wilderness training in a day, and it would be important for his Fury Points.

“I’m sorry, I don’t have time,” he directly declined.

Zhao Huatai smirked. This was a crossroad between the countryside and the city region, very few people passed it. They had been waiting for a chance to catch Xiang Ning.

“Brother Zhang, thank you for your intel, I didn’t expect him to actually be here.” Zhao Huatai grinned at the man next to him.

“Stop wasting time, didn’t he break your arm? I just want to break one of his legs, then I’m done. Let’s do this now,” said Zhang Hongyu.

Xiang Ning was instantly annoyed. “Who are you? I don’t think I know you!”

Fury Points +111

“You don’t know me? I can’t believe you don’t know me?!” Zhang Hongyu burst into a guffaw like a madman, scaring Zhao Huatai.

“He doesn’t fucking know me! Alright, I’ll break your third leg today too, then I’ll tell you who I am!” raged Zhang Hongyu. If this bastard hadn’t disturbed their duel, he would have beaten Fang Rou and gotten a date with her. Xiang Ning had ruined his chance with her, how could he not be mad? And now, he had even forgotten him! Zhang Hongyu was extremely humiliated by that, because he wasn’t even memorable to Xiang Ning. He had seen Xiang Ning as a love rival, yet Xiang Ning ignored him and didn’t even know who he was. It was infuriating!

Fury Points +166

Xiang Ning noticed the increase in Fury Points. The guy before him was mad indeed. “Is that necessary? I just don’t know you, that’s all. Why don’t we get to know each other now?”

Zhao Huatai, who was watching this unfold, realized something was off and held down Zhang Hongyu, who was about to leave. “Be patient, he’ll be crying later.”

Zhang Hongyu calmed down, his eyes still fixed on Xiang Ning.

Xiang Ning decided not to leave. They were Fury Point ATMs and he wanted to make a withdrawal first.

Very soon, more than ten people surrounded them.

“Let’s go!” A man shoved Xiang Ning, who didn’t resist. Zhao Huatai and Zhang Hongyu gave satisfied grins.

These men were all tier one, six-star martial artists. Although he heard Xiang Ning was a tier one, seven-star martial artist, there should be enough of them to hold him down. They didn’t know that Xiang Ning was already a tier one, nine-star martial artist and had even silently spent three thousand Fury Points on Mental Power.

Three Thousand Fury Points Spent. Mental Power +30

Level: Tier one, nine-star martial artist (awaiting upgrade)

Mental Power: Tier one, four-star spiritual cultivator

Xiang Ning remembered Fang Rou saying that if a spiritual cultivator didn’t want to rely on spiritual armor and wanted to inflict significant damage on a beast with their Mental Power, they must be at least a tier one, four-star spiritual cultivator. Thus, his level was now more than enough to teach these people a lesson.

He was led into an alley. Behind him was a four-meter-tall red brick wall. If he were more timid, he would have been screaming.

“Can’t we do this in the countryside? It isn’t far from here, and more suited for fights. If you block me off like this, it’ll be hard for me to move,” he said.

The group of thugs was speechless. The bald man leading them stood next to Zhao Huatai. “Young Master Zhao, is he right in the head? Is that something a normal person would say?”

“Nonsense, teach him a lesson now. If you break an arm, it’s twenty thousand dollars, if you break a leg, it’s thirty thousand dollars!” raged Zhao Huatai. Xiang Ning was unbelievable, how dare he act so arrogant in the face of more than ten men!

Suddenly, Zhang Hongyu mused, “If you break his third leg, it’s a hundred thousand dollars!”

The crowd drew a sharp breath, including Xiang Ning. These people must be blinded by rage, but the amount of money was tempting. That was a total of a hundred and fifty thousand!

The men’s breathing quickened. Raising metal pipes, bricks, and daggers, they rushed forward. However, due to the narrow alley, only two people could pass. Xiang Ning dropped his arrogant, lazy act and narrowed his eyes, his muscles trembling.

“Keen Observation!” In an instant, the world quieted. He moved like a shadow, immediately catching the first man. His muscle bulged with the power of a tier one, nine-star martial artist. The man shrieked in pain, dropping the metal pipe, which Xiang Ning caught.

On the edge of the group, Zhao Huatai and Zhang Hongyu turned away and took out cigarettes, puffing away. Due to their limited field of vision, they couldn’t see much other than the crowd of more than ten people. With the darkening sky, instead of trying to watch the fight, they decided to blow off steam and wait.

“Brother Zhang, I’m curious, why do you want to break his third leg so badly?”

Zhang Hongyu’s face twitched. Why must he ask…?

Xiang Ning had already defeated three people and was now dealing with another two. They had pounced on him while he was distracted, and he couldn’t shake them off as they were clinging on to him too tightly. Despite being powerful, he couldn’t escape.

They struck him hard with the metal pipe twice, and although it wasn’t too painful, he was angry because they had struck his face. He expanded his mind and the bricks on the ground levitated, flying straight at the back of their heads.

Thud thud thud!

After a few consecutive thuds, three men had collapsed before the people in the center knew what happened. Meanwhile, Xiang Ning had broken free from the two men’s grips.

“Mountain-Splitting Slash!” roared Xiang Ning, slamming the pipe right on the shoulder of a tier one, five-star martial artist. A shriek and the sound of bones breaking rang out.

Xiang Ning was already showing mercy, for he could have killed them with one move. It wasn’t easy to withstand a person who had an Awakened martial skill!

Very soon, Zhao Huatai and Zhang Hongyu noticed that something was wrong. They did hear the shrieks they were expecting, but they weren’t from Xiang Ning. In the beginning, they had thought he was strong enough to defeat a few men and it would be normal to hear shrieks. But their expressions changed after they turned to check. Lo and behold, everyone had collapsed.

Zhao Huatai’s features contorted; he was ready to run. He knew he was no match for Xiang Ning.

However, Zhang Hongyu stepped forward. “You must think you’re the shit! That you’re the only one good enough for Fang Rou, right? Well, I’ll prove today that a poor beggar kid like you is no match for us elites! Roaring Tiger!”

A full set of armor materialized on Zhang Hongyu’s body, glowing golden and radiating an intimidating aura.

“Spiritual armor!” Zhao Huatai’s pupils constricted in shock.
