Forbidden Zone of the Human Race

Chapter 93: Fight Me!

Xiang Ning was initially confused, but he finally knew where the Fury Points originated from. But he ignored it and chased after Fang Rou.

At the same time, news about Xiang Ning’s squad started to reach everyone.

Northwest region, Wu Rui’s squad.

“Leader, is the news accurate? To think that Xiang Ning wouldn’t help those in trouble! I was actually feeling slightly guilty in stealing their prey, but I feel relieved now. Hmph, a lousy school can only produce lousy students.”

Wu Rui swung his sword and chopped off the head of a tier two beast. In a second swift motion, he wiped the blood off his sword using the beast’s own hide. “Spread the word, let the others continue targeting the beasts that’re being hunted by Qiling High School’s squads.”

“Yes. But Xiang Ning’s squad is already in sixth place, what should we do?”

“We still have a week left. As long as we don’t slack off, then Xiang Ning will have no chance in surpassing fifth place.” Wu Rui coldly laughed. While this was the first special training, the rules had more or less been solidified. Getting tenth place and above should be no problem if a squad was strong and had some luck, but getting into the top five? It was already occupied by the strongest squads of the select few academies. It was no simple feat to surpass them.

“What about the other academies?”

“Helios Academy is in second place. They need a hundred and forty thousand to surpass us. Radiant Academy is third and is two hundred thousand dollars behind us. Finally, Greenwood Academy is fourth and needs four hundred thousand dollars to catch up.”

“Good. Let’s hunt the tier two Tyrant Spider located four kilometers to the east. If we kill it, that should secure our position,” Wu Rui said as he stared to the east, the third largest residential area of the ruined city.

“Let me see what you can do,” Wu Rui said with a cold smile.

......

Three days passed.

In those three days, many squads belonging to Qiling Academy were assaulted by the other academies and their beasts stolen from them. Every single Qiling Academy squad was at the bottom of the ranking; only Xiang Ning’s squad remained in the top ten at sixth place.

“I think I’ve found their tracks. They should be in this small town.” Xiang Ning followed the dried blood trail and pointed toward the small town.

“You’re right. This must be Lu Shiyu’s handiwork. Only her weapon is capable of inflicting this damage.” Fang Rou was very excited as she examined some of the beast corpses. She rubbed some of the mud on her face and recalled how much they had rushed to find their squad. They hadn’t even taken a shower.

As they approached the small town, they heard the sound of someone in battle. Both of them hastened their pace.

As for Lu Shiyu and the rest, they hadn’t been resting either. They had scoured the region to reunite with Xiang Ning and killed many beasts. It was only during the last two days that they were heavily targeted by the other squads. Every time they tried killing a beast, another squad would swoop in and steal their prey if they were one step slower. They were extremely unsatisfied that their hard-earned work was being stolen. However, their squad was separated, so naturally they couldn’t win in a three-versus-five fight. They had to prioritize their safety every time.

But today, they were standing their ground. They had finally hunted a highly valued tier one, nine-star beast. It would give them the thirty thousand dollars needed to surpass fifth place.

“Lu Shiyu, don’t agree to their terms.” Li Zimo held his right arm. He took the risk and blocked an attack from the beast just so they could kill it faster.

“Hehe, you must be so mad. Let me tell you now, we will steal every single beast that you’ve hunted, don’t even think about getting one.”

Lu Shiyu stared daggers at them as she tightly held her weapon. But they had five people and Li Zimo was injured—they couldn’t fight back.

“What’s wrong? Come on! Fight me! Hurry up and fight me!” The other squad mocked them. Even Liu Ruoxue, who usually didn’t show much of an expression, was extremely displeased by their actions.

After a long silence, Lu Shiyu finally put down her sickles. She couldn’t afford to fight here.

“Haha! Look at you losers. To think that the students of Qiling Academy were so weak. The other squads from your academy are at the bottom of the rankings. Let’s see how much longer you can last!”

Li Zimo was furious. He knew about how, initially, only the squads from Hanwu Academy had specifically targeted them, but to think that every single other squad would be targeting them now as well!

As long as someone saw a squad from Qiling Academy was hunting, they would always steal it. The squads from Qiling Academy could no longer handle the stress from their bullying and could only return to the fortress.

But just as Li Zimo was going to leave, two flying knives streaked past them as they flew through the air.

“AH!” A cry was heard as the other team’s squad member was wounded. A nasty gash appeared on his face and blood stained his body.

“Hmph! Let’s see who’ll last the longest!” Xiang Ning stepped out from a shadow as the flying knives returned to his side.

“Xiang Ning! We finally found you!”

“Who do you think you are!”

Xiang Ning ignored them and turned toward his squad members. “Sorry, you guys must’ve missed us.” He then turned toward the Hanwu Academy squad. “Thanks to you guys, I’ve kept bumping into other squads. Now it’s your turn. Come! Fight me!”

He had utterly snapped when he saw how Lu Shiyu was being bullied. Upon hearing his declaration, the other squad retreated. Xiang Ning’s fierce aura and expression was no joke.

“What’s wrong? Weren’t you guys acting all high and mighty just now? Do you think you can run from me?” Xiang Ning snorted. He was determined to completely demolish them. His iridium sword was unsheathed, reflecting a cold light. In a single step, he appeared in front of them.

“Everybody, attack!”

The other squad had no option but to fight.

“Mountain-Splitting Slash!” Xiang Ning roared as tremendous strength gathered in his sword. The squad member closest to him immediately lost his composure.

Oh no!

With a loud boom, his sword was knocked away by Xiang Ning as blood flowed freely from his hands. He didn’t even have a chance to cry in pain before being incapicated by Xiang Ning’s attack. If Xiang Ning hadn’t held back, he would’ve split him in half.
