Green Life

Kenji’s quest! – chapter 63

[ Hatsuko! What is that!? ] ( Akemi )

While we were on our way to my apartment, Akemi kept asking me questions about the things that were around.

She was pointing her finger towards a window shop.

[ That's a place where women buy clothes. ] ( Hatsuko )

I said to her as I was leaving her behind.

[ There are so many and so pretty! ] ( Akemi )

She was looking at them with amazed eyes as she was placing both of her hands on the shop's window.

[ Agh! Wait, don't leave me behind! ] ( Akemi )

She said to me as she noticed that I wasn't waiting for her.

I'm not some kind of guide to show her around the city.

The only thing I want to do right now is to go to my room and relax.

Now that I think about it, Hina was also in my apartment.

Is she still there, or did she decide to go back?

I gave her my debit card to buy everything necessary for the house. I hope she didn't overdo anything with it.

[ Oh, Hatsuko! I've been looking for you! ] ( Kenji )

As I was on my way home, I heard a voice calling my name.

I turned and saw Ichika's father coming towards me.

As always he was shirtless...

[ What did you want? ] ( Hatsuko )

I asked him as he was approaching me.

[ I wanted to make a personal quest for you! Can you hear me out? ] ( Kenji )

He scratched the back of his head as he said that.

Personal quest?

Is that even allowed?

Wait... if it's Kenji maybe it's not a problem at all.

[ What is it? ] ( Hatsuko )

I asked.

[ You see, ever since the appearance of the monsters, I have been training nonstop so I could manage to protect my family!— ] ( Kenji )

As Kenji started explaining about the quest, I looked around with my eyes for Akemi.

She was still looking at some random shops around here.

What is this dragon doing?

[ —Day after day, I gained power!

Influence!

And money!

But still, I can't protect everything by myself! ] ( Kenji )

Ichika's father showed a troubled face as he was saying that.

[ I will get to the point!

Hatsuko! Please help me train my daughter! ] ( Kenji )

Why does he keep making unreasonable requests?

First, attending his daughter's birthday.

Second, wanting a match against me.

And now he wants me to train his daughter?

[ I'm not interested! ] ( Hatsuko )

I responded as I was preparing to leave.

[ W-wait! I'll pay you well! ] ( Kenji )

[ I don't need money! ] ( Hatsuko )

[ Then how about this?

The guild has some hidden things you might be interested in.

I already know that you are strong and I'm sure you'd want something more interesting?!

How about that? ] ( Kenji )

Hidden things?

This does sound interesting but is it really worth it?

If it's information about Angels and Demons I'm sure I know a little bit more than them since I have Akemi as a source.

[ Here is a little information if you can't decide yet!

Recently the guild has found a new source of energy which is located near a lake.

We think that in that lake might be something which is causing it! ] ( Kenji )

[ An artifact? ] ( Hatsuko )

[ That's right an artifa- Wait how did you know? ] ( Kenji )

He looked at me all shocked.

He did say that this information was hidden from the public. Me knowing that was surprising for him.

The things Kenji was saying about this source of energy were similar to the effects of an artifact which Akemi said to me.

Not only is it a source of energy but also boosts your power!

[ I heard it from some people talking about it. ] ( Hatsuko )

He started thinking about it.

[ I see... ] ( Kenji )

He said to himself.

[ Anyway, what do you think? ] ( Kenji )

Well, I do think it's interesting having information from the guild.

[ Hatsuko! Huh? Who is that? ] ( Akemi )

As I was thinking about Kenji's quest, Akemi came back from seeing around the shops.

She didn't go as far as I couldn't see her.

As long as she doesn't cause trouble to me I don't care what she does.

Kenji looked at Akemi for a bit and turned to me.

[ Hm? Is this your friend? ] ( Kenji )

He asked.

[ You could say that. ] ( Hatsuko )

Saying to him about a soul contract would be more troubling than saying she was my friend.

[ Anyway, do you need more time to think about the quest or... ? ] ( Kenji )

No there is no need for me to think about this.

I could use him for other things as well.

[ Yes, but I have more conditions! ] ( Hatsuko )

[ Okay, tell me! ] ( Kenji )

[ First, I want to get noticed for all the hidden informations that the guild has! ] ( Hatsuko )

He nodded as he heard my first condition.

[ Okay! Next? ] ( Kenji )

[ Second, I want the guild to look at any kind of information for the location of my family! ] ( Hatsuko )

He nodded again at me while touching his chin.

[ And lastly, I want you to keep a secret, everything about my power! ] ( Hatsuko )

Those are all the conditions I had.

[ That's all? ] ( Kenji )

He asked with a surprised look.

[ Yeah. ] ( Hatsuko )

[ Consider it done! ] ( Kenji )

He didn't hesitate at all when he answered me.

[ Are we done yet Hatsuko? ] ( Akemi )

Akemi was also beside me, waiting for me to finish up with Kenji.

[ Sorry to trouble you! I will contact you when to begin with Ichikas training. ] ( Kenji )

He said that and left.

[ Let's go. ] ( Hatsuko )

I said to Akemi as we were watching Kenji leave.

She followed me without saying anything.

But she still couldn't help but look around and get amazed by random stuff.

Not only she was drawing attention but she wasn't even noticing it.

This dragon...

.

.

As we reached the building where I live, we entered inside.

Akemi had the same reaction as before when we were inside the elevator.

And finally, now we were in front of the door of my apartment.

[ This place, looks so clean and pretty! Is this where you live? ] ( Akemi )

Even the hallway of this place was something impressive to her.

It's like I'm showing a kid around the new house.

I got out the keys to my house but before I could unlock the door.

The door was opened by Hina.

She was still here...

[ Welcome back Hatsuko! ] ( Hina )
