Happy Evil Heartbreaker [Modern LitRPG]

Chapter 52: The Hidden Expert And The Four Great Terrorists

From Chapter 2, I changed the title Social Bull to Social Master

After every major exam, there are always those who rejoice and those who despair. But as time passes, everyone’s emotions eventually settle, and the restless feelings dissipate.

It was a cloudy morning.

Classroom of Grade 1, Class 3.

An ordinary math lesson.

As the math teacher, William El Pantomina, began the class, he said, “Today, we’re going to discuss the recent monthly exam paper. This exam was indeed very challenging. Despite that, several students in Class 1 and Class 2 achieved perfect scores. In our class, the highest score in math was by Xanthia, though she lost 3 points due to a small careless mistake. What’s remarkable is that she solved all the difficult problems correctly and in a very clever way. Later, I’ll have her share her problem-solving approach with the class.”

Following the instructions from the homeroom teacher, Emmanuel, William naturally said this, then turned kindly to Xanthia and asked, “Xanthia, would you be willing to be a little teacher and give a lesson to everyone?”

William’s request caused a stir in the classroom. Everyone’s eyes turned to Xanthia.

Some students only now realized that before this monthly exam, the teachers had almost unanimously ignored this “hidden expert” during lessons, contributing to her low presence in the class.

Others were gloating, like Hattie La Amongi, who shared a dormitory with Elena La Loannou. Hattie, who ranked 13th in the class this time, inherently believed Xanthia had cheated. She even tried to instigate Elena to feel the same.

To her disappointment, Elena didn’t care about her attempts and wasn’t bothered by Xanthia surpassing her.

Hattie’s gloating had a simple reason: since she believed Xanthia had cheated, she expected that someone who relied on copying to get high marks wouldn’t be able to explain anything.

There were quite a few students who shared Hattie’s thoughts, all eagerly waiting to see Xanthia make a fool of herself.

Contrary to their expectations, Xanthia calmly responded to William, “Sure, I’d be happy to share.”

William smiled with satisfaction.

This math teacher, with his scholarly appearance and gentle temperament, wasn’t a homeroom teacher for any class, yet he was qualified to teach both Class 1 and Class 3. As the head of the math teaching and research group and in charge of the competition class, his expertise was undeniably high.

Class 2’s math was handled by their own homeroom teacher, Eirini La Konstantinoui, another heavyweight teacher with a very strict reputation. Her nickname was “The Merciless Master,” and like Emmanuel, she was one of the classic “Four Great Terrorists” found in every high school.

The Four Great Terrorists were notorious for being relentless in catching students’ mistakes.

Given William’s high level of expertise enough to contend against national-level professors, he was certain that Xanthia’s high score wasn’t due to cheating. Her problem-solving approach was unique and clever; no one could have provided her with the answers.

Besides, the idea of finding the answers online was out of the question since William himself had crafted this exam paper, and the questions were not available online!

Meanwhile, Emmanuel, the scheming homeroom teacher, was lurking outside the classroom, monitoring the situation with eerily smile of a madman.

Before Xanthia even started explaining the problems, Emmanuel had already noted down a few students who weren’t paying attention during the math lesson, mentally marking them for future reference.

Such a great teacher with utmost professionalism, indeed.

William began by thoroughly explaining the slightly difficult questions on the exam paper, occasionally asking students like Luciel and Ryan, who had performed well in math, to stand up and share their problem-solving methods.

Finally, he invited Xanthia to the podium, handed her the chalk, and encouraged her to boldly explain the third sub-question of the last two major problems, which was the most challenging.

Xanthia confidently took the chalk, the spirit of the "problem solver" from her past life burning brightly within her. Then, she received an unexpected delight!

The system notified her that her "Social Butterfly" (White) term had unknowingly accumulated enough experience to upgrade to the "Social Master" (Blue) term!

Without a doubt, her fearless and poised demeanor in facing the entire class to explain the challenging problem was a perfect match for the "Social Master" term!

It turned out that role-playing could significantly increase the experience points!

Big revelation!

For an ordinary student, even if they had solved the difficult problem, explaining it in front of everyone would likely cause them to stutter and tremble with nervousness. But for someone with the "Social Master" term, such a small scene was nothing to be nervous about.

After her title evolved, Xanthia, now a full-fledged "Social Master," felt divinely assisted. Not only could she confidently explain the problems on the test paper, but she could also deliver a speech without any preparation!

The "Social Master" term was already so impressive; she couldn't even imagine how powerful the "Social Terrorist" term would be.

Perhaps it would enable her to blend in and beg on the streets, befriending homeless people with ease and even shoot a video – "Everyone, it's time for another meal!"

“When I approached this problem, I started by thinking from this angle…”

Xanthia began to speak eloquently, her pace neither hurried nor slow. Although her voice was not loud, in the quiet classroom, everyone could hear her clearly.

As she explained, she wrote the solution on the blackboard with elegant and composed handwriting, her scholarly aura fully on display.

The system once again notified her that the progress bar for the "Battle of the White Moonlight" task had significantly increased.

Impressive, the aura of a top student truly carried weight in this academic-centric school. To be the male students' ideal "White Moonlight," good grades were undoubtedly a prerequisite…

Dematero was at a loss for words to describe his complex feelings. He had once compared Xanthia to his goddess Elena La Loannou, thinking that Xanthia was superior in every aspect except for her grades.

Now, Xanthia had even surpassed Elena academically, leaving him feeling lost.

In the end, he could only deceive himself – he and Elena liked each other, so no matter what, his goddess would always be Elena. He could never betray Elena! His only one true love!

The other classmates had various thoughts running through their minds:

“Xanthia is not only beautiful but also smart. When she explains such a difficult problem, it suddenly seems so simple. Why didn’t I think of that?”

“No doubt about it, the first place in the exam is well deserved!”

“So this is the gold standard of our new class top 1? Impressive! I’m convinced!”

“I’ve never heard Xanthia’s voice before. Now that I have, it sounds so nice. Please, speak more…”

“Traitor! I used to be loyal to ‘Class Beauty’ Luciel. Sorry, but now I’m a loyal fan of Lady Xanthia!”

Even the math teacher, William, was nodding continuously, increasingly convinced that Xanthia was a perfect candidate for the math competition class. How could she not join the competition class? It would be such a waste of talent!

He decided that even if he had to trick her, he would get her into the competition training class…

Lurking outside the classroom, Emmanuel smiled with satisfaction – this was gratifying. Who said Class 3 lacked top students? No worries, Xanthia was here!

Emmanuel saw immense potential in Xanthia; she was undoubtedly a great talent!

Perhaps only someone like Hattie, who stubbornly refused to believe in Xanthia's abilities, would have a sour expression on her face, concocting various conspiracy theories. "Fake, it's all fake! How could Xanthia explain the problems so well? She must have rehearsed it beforehand. This math teacher isn't any good either, giving her such a stage to show off, it’s infuriating!"

But their frustration didn’t end there, as the physics and chemistry teachers also gave Xanthia platforms to shine…

And "Social Master" Xanthia never faltered once!

Thus, her elegant figure and melodious voice were deeply engraved in the youthful memories of many male classmates.
