Happy Evil Heartbreaker [Modern LitRPG]

Chapter 87: Hera, The Fart Queen

Clearly, the three girls around Xanthia felt she was joking.

Or perhaps intentionally making such "big talk" to create a contrast and amuse everyone.

After all, Xanthia inherently possessed the attribute of being "Social Expert". People with a knack for socializing like her dared to say anything, even if they couldn't follow through later without feeling embarrassed.

Generally, "Social Expert" people are quite likable. They don't mind making a fool of themselves, can lighten the mood, and bring joy to those around them.

Unlike her tablemate Elena La Loannou, who always tried to maintain a goddess-like image, Xanthia had no burdens. Her approach was grounded and relatable, unlike Elena, who avoided any mishaps that might ruin her image.

Elena always maintained an "aloof and detached" demeanor to maintain a certain image, which filtered how others perceived her.

Xanthia, on the other hand, wasn't constrained by any image. Ironically, many of the "images" attributed to her were projections forced onto her by others.

For instance, the absurd personas like "poor but diligent top student" or "most hardworking school flower in Year One" on the school's forums.

In the classroom, because of her innocent appearance, slender figure, pale complexion, and delicate air, people assumed she was a "fragile beauty", ideal as protagonist for romance novels.

Yet Xanthia had dreams of her own.

Lhoraine was the first to recover from her astonishment. She couldn't help teasing, "Xanthia, you're trying so hard to amuse everyone. It's just too tender. I'm touched to tears..."

Luciel also snapped out of it, couldn't resist extending her hands to Xanthia's collagen-rich, innocent face, and gently rubbing it, enjoying the sensation.

At the same time, she said, "Xanthia, Xanthia, listen to Lucy sister's advice. Don't do things like this to make everyone happy. You, this delicate porcelain doll, should be treated like a national treasure. You shouldn't endure any harm. Running 3000 meters is practically a crime, and you might lose half of your life."

Seeing Luciel's intimate gesture, Elena bit her lip, inwardly screaming, "I also want to touch Xanthia's face!"

Just another day of admiring Luciel...

There was no doubt that Xanthia's cute skin was exceptional—fair as snow, delicate, and surprisingly, she didn't use any high-end skincare products. Her natural, cold-white skin was just unfair!

Elena believed her complexion gave her an edge in overall charm. She maintained a normal fair complexion through careful skincare; after all, if a goddess wasn't fair, her charisma would immediately plummet.

As for true beauty "hard power," she felt it was evenly matched with Luciel's. But compared to Xanthia, she felt she was overestimating herself.

This innate talent was like body proportions—difficult to change post-birth, unless a system intervened.

Upon hearing Luciel's words, Elena joined in, "I think Xanthia doesn't need to resort to such methods to make everyone happy. Just smiling more or singing a song would naturally lift everyone's spirits."

"Yeah, yeah, Xanthia, let's play some music. Haven't you said you're good at playing on the ukulele? Play it for us." Lhoraine suggested.

"I'll do it during the long break." Xanthia, undaunted by her status as a social achiever, replied.

"No, today's long break is for the flag-raising ceremony." Luciel reminded her.

"So troublesome, wasting time." Xanthia complained.

Seeing their natural interaction, Elena couldn't help but envy them. She only dared to call Xanthia "Little Xanthia" in private.

In front of Luciel and Lhoraine, she addressed her as "Classmate Xanthia". She knew she wasn't part of their trio and feared being seen as disrespectful, sparking territorial tensions among them, a natural female tendency to compete or envy, even among same-sex friends.

Since a major family incident, Elena had grown more sensitive than other girls.

For some reason, Luciel, the "elder sister", got along well with many girls but had an odd dynamic with "goddess" Elena, implying they weren't on the best terms due to their differences.

Elena didn't mind Xanthia surpassing her academically, but being outscored by Luciel in the last monthly exam left her slightly miffed, eager for a comeback.

Xanthia was indeed a treasure initially discovered by Luciel and held a significant place in her heart. Luciel's acceptance of Lhoraine into their circle implied no threat, and Lhoraine even brought some gossip fun to Xanthia.

But if Elena harbored any "improper thoughts" toward Xanthia, Luciel wouldn't remain so calm.

Relationships between girls could be very subtle, not merely joyful because of their shared gender.

Xanthia was a unique presence. Anyone who got to know her found she had no hidden agenda and was straightforwardly innocent—or one could say, she simply didn't care much about interpersonal relationships and just wanted to have fun.

It was precisely this persistent pursuit of fun that was so infectious, spreading joy to others.

Being around someone like Xanthia was incredibly light-hearted and enjoyable. Naturally, everyone wanted to be her friend, even if it meant just being drinking buddies.

"Wait, why did the conversation shift to music? Don't underestimate me!"

Almost led astray, Xanthia noticed the beautiful girls around her didn't seem to think much of her, clearly forming a stereotype!

No, she had to break this stereotype. She turned back to the conversation earnestly, "Actually, my physical fitness is quite good. Because I used to get sick often, I really disliked that feeling. So, I woke up and decided to change myself. I run every day, and my health has really improved. So when I say I'm good at long-distance running, I really mean it."

Xanthia was clearly rambling again, talking about her daily running exercises. Such boring exercises didn't increase her happiness points, so she wouldn't waste time on them. Her physical fitness relied entirely on the system's enhancements...

Yet, she spoke so sincerely and innocently that she seemed completely truthful. The girls around her were momentarily taken aback, imagining scenes of Xanthia running to and from school every day.

Luciel thought for a moment before suggesting, "Xanthia, how about you run a 3000-meter race during PE next time to prove yourself?"

Xanthia quickly waved her hands, "No, no, my goal is to win the 3000 meters at the school sports day. I absolutely can't reveal my strength prematurely, or the element of surprise will be lost."

In reality, the true reason was that she only had one bottle of "physical enhancement potion," which she intended to use at a critical moment.

Lhoraine smiled, as if seeing through Xanthia's "new clothes," but she didn't expose her.

Elena lowered her head, covering her mouth, cursing herself as foolish for actually believing that Xanthia ran to and from school every day. Clearly, Xanthia didn't exude any aura of a "sporty girl."

Luciel didn't laugh, instead earnestly advising, "Xanthia, I absolutely believe in your abilities. However, don't overexert yourself. Since your current physical condition is good, you should maintain it. Don't mess around just for the sake of amusing others."

On the matter of wanting Xanthia to maintain her physical health, Luciel and her two friends were in complete agreement. They had long gotten used to Xanthia not taking sick leave anymore. With her around, even the air seemed livelier.

Today was Monday. After finishing two morning classes, as usual, the mid-morning break held the weekly flag-raising ceremony.

Under the command of their class teacher, Emmanuel El Alcantara, boys and girls formed two lines and marched neatly to the designated spot, where they would later form squares.

Most students wore expressions of disdain. Originally, the 25-minute mid-morning break was a time to relax freely. It was supposed to be enjoyable, but because of this flag-raising ceremony, everyone's relaxation time was effectively wasted.

The flag-raising ceremony was also considered a classic routine in campus life.

The student chosen to speak under the flag this time was Dionysius El Papadopoulos, the class monitor of Class 1 of Grade 10. He had performed exceptionally well in the recent monthly exams, ranking first in the entire grade.

Dionysius was tasked with speaking on the theme of "self-directed learning" under the flag.

He felt like he was about to speak his fill. He simply dug up the script he used in junior high school, made a few minor adjustments, submitted it to the class teacher for review, and naturally received high praise.

For a top student like Dionysius, who excelled in all aspects, the class teacher treated him like a CEO of a major company. Such students were easy to handle—they excelled in academics, had good relationships, strong leadership skills, and a strong background...

And forgot a very important point: he was also handsome—bold enough to expose his forehead with a close-cropped hairstyle, which made him look "sunny and handsome." With such good looks, it was only natural that this campus male god was popular.

Before Dionysius spoke under the flag, all the students had to sing the national anthem while looking at the flag. After that, school leaders usually gave speeches, which could be the principal, vice principal, or even the director of discipline. This was the procedure.

Xanthia had no emotional connection to this flag-raising ceremony in the parallel world. She didn't conform to her ideological consciousness, so she said she was unfamiliar with it.

When she found out Dionysius was going to speak under the flag, she couldn't help but sarcastically remark, "Why is it this guy again? His speeches are definitely boring!"

Could Xanthia not understand Dionysius? This uninteresting younger brother was the type who could be extremely meticulous within the scope of the rules. So, he would be highly favored by seniors, leaders, and teachers. But if he encountered someone who didn't follow the rules at all, he would make a big mistake.

Xanthia's sarcastic voice was not loud, but it was heard by several girls around her. The position assigned to her in the square was also very uncomfortable.

If she had an "Gossip Queen" Lhoraine around, she would definitely chat with Lhoraine throughout the entire process, and it wouldn't matter if the happiness index was low.

Hera La Andronikos happened to be very close to Xanthia. Upon hearing Xanthia's remark, she, who already harbored ill intentions toward Xanthia, became furious.

With a condescending attitude, she lectured Xanthia, "Who do you think you are to speak ill of Dionysius! Just because you share the same last name doesn't mean you can casually judge him, right? He's topped the entire grade twice in a row. Compared to someone like you who relies on luck to make a comeback once, he's infinitely stronger!"

While lecturing Xanthia, Hera particularly hoped Dionysius would witness this scene—Look, my dear campus god, I defend you so staunchly in public and private. Anyone who speaks ill of you, I'll strike back at them!

And because Dionysius was the "campus heartthrob," he indeed had a high popularity with many admirers. One girl, named Hannah, who shared a dormitory with Elena and ranked 13th in the class, chimed in, "Xanthia, you're indeed in the wrong here. I think you're just jealous of Dionysius. That's why you say his speeches are boring. In fact, as long as he stands there and says nothing, we wouldn't find it boring at all! What do you all think?"

Hannah's eyes showed admiration; she even considered it lucky to be in the same cohort as Dionysius.

"That's right, how can you call Dionysius boring when he's so perfect! Apologize!"

"Yeah, yeah, no matter who gives a speech under the national flag, it's always like that. At least Dionysius is handsome, and that's already a win!"

"If one day I could go on a date with Dionysius, invite him to dinner, I would be so blissful just thinking about it..."

Xanthia looked bewildered. Had she inadvertently poked the hornet's nest of a girl who liked to fawn over boys? As an elder sister, she had casually teased her younger brother, so why was everyone reacting so strongly?

Seeing Xanthia remain silent and other girls joining in, Hera grew even more arrogant. She increasingly thought Xanthia was easy to bully and resolved to find a good opportunity to strike. After all, merely exchanging a few words wasn't satisfying enough.

Of course, Hera was also annoyed with the girls around her who swooned over Dionysius. What kind of standards did they have to dare fantasize about Dionysius? He was the ideal future husband in her mind!

When she heard a girl named Marian La Trimm mention inviting Dionysius to dinner, Hera became even more furious. She turned her attention to Marian, a girl who liked to boast and act like a drama queen.

By the way, Marian also shared a dormitory with Elena. Otherwise, how could Elena's dorm be known as the "talent" dorm?

"You, a country bumpkin, still dare to dream of inviting Dionysius to dinner? Do you know how much a meal with him costs? Can you afford it? You're really ignorant and fearless! Not to mention dating; he receives elite education and is busy on holidays. No girl can make him make an exception!"

Hera spoke confidently, demonstrating her "understanding" of Dionysius.

Finally, she dropped a bombshell, "Do you know Dionysius's birthday? You don't, right... Hahaha! I know—it's next month, in November. I won't tell you the exact day because I'll be attending his birthday party. As for you all, just wait for me to generously share it on my moments!"

Hera spoke with enthusiasm, silencing the girls who had been supporting her. This was a case of mutual persecution among fawning girls, but she was particularly pleased. It seemed to prove that she was Dionysius's "only one"!

Her social status was higher than theirs!

Just as she was feeling smug, she suddenly farted loudly. It was a series of loud farts, and she even laughed maniacally while farting!

With this arrogant smile, she seemed to be proving her ability to produce such stunning continuous farts, a monumental achievement that also proved her heartfelt admiration for Dionysius!

The farting sound was like a salute—a grand welcoming ceremony!

The girls who had been silenced by Hera burst into laughter.

Hannah laughed while holding her stomach, and Marian laughed until tears streamed down her face and she couldn't straighten her waist. It turned out that Hera was the one in a million "fart queen"!

Hera actually wanted to show a look of surprise, but the problem was she couldn't control her laughter. She laughed louder and more boldly than anyone else present.

At that moment, Dionysius arrived with his script under the flag, cleared his throat, and was about to speak into the microphone when he noticed a group of girls nearby laughing uncontrollably.

He looked bewildered, subconsciously thinking he had done something ridiculous.

However, he soon spotted Xanthia among the crowd, standing innocently and pure-faced, not laughing at all. She seemed completely oblivious to what was happening.

A sense of calm washed over Dionysius, and his expression softened. If his sister wasn't laughing, then everything was going well.

Indeed, his sister respected him the most. Next vacation, he really wanted to spend time with her, though he didn't know if she would give him the chance.
