Chapter 186 Ambush in the Forest

Chapter 186 Ambush in the Forest
"Oh?"

David stared out of the corner of his eye, flipping through the memories in his head.

After watching it on a whim, David showed a kind smile on his face: "You said you were forced?"

The wizard nodded, then realized something, and widened his eyes: "Legiliency?"

"Smart." David pointed at him with his wand raised.

"Etc., etc"

"Be a good person in your next life." Before David could finish speaking, a light spot appeared on the tip of his wand.

The voice of the wizard shouting disappeared, and the ground where he was lying on slowly became soft.

He looked panicked, tears were hanging from the corners of his eyes, his mouth kept opening back and forth, but he just couldn't make a sound.

"The tear of crocodile."

David shook his head and increased the output of magic power, and the wizard sank much faster.

After a while, the potholes on the ground were filled and restored to its original state, as if nothing had happened.

"David?" Anna looked unbearable.

She didn't stop David just now because she felt that David must have his own reasons, and now she needs an explanation,
After all, it would be good to kill him, burying him alive would be too cruel.

David looked at Jason: "He caught several of the children whose rooms were locked just now, and they went there voluntarily."

Jason snorted, glanced fiercely at the ground, and softly told Anna what happened to them inside the Arc de Triomphe.

The unbearable dissipation on Anna's face dissipated, and she stepped heavily on the ground: "Damn it."

"Where are we going next?" Jason asked while Anna was venting her emotions.

"Well" David rubbed his chin and thought for a while, "I just saw in his memory that those werewolves will meet in the dense forest outside the city three days later, and their leaders will distribute rewards to them according to their performance during this time .”

Jason's eyes lit up: "Then let's go and have a look?"

"Get rid of it. That's a bunch of werewolves. I don't want to have just a few today. If they find out, can we get out?" David said.

"That's right." Jason pondered for a moment, "How about we take a look from a distance? What if Mr. Scamander and the others get the news and rush over?"

"Well, you're right. We'll have a look at that time. It would be even better if we can catch one or two people to inquire about the news."

David nodded, but he still had some doubts in his heart. According to the memory of that person, in the past, when they were in the past, the rewards were all sent to them by owls.

But this time they all gathered in the forest, saying that they were going to hold a large commendation meeting.

Is it a conspiracy or am I overthinking it?
David couldn't make up his mind.

Early the next morning, they slipped quietly to the Arc de Triomphe to have a look.

The tourists disappeared, the perimeter of the Arc de Triomphe was fenced off, and a municipal maintenance sign was nailed to the boards.

There are also wizards in civilian clothes patrolling the surrounding area.

"It looks like Mr. Scamander won't show up." Jason whispered next to David.

"Yeah." David agreed with him.

He had just stared into the fence for a few minutes, when a few patrolling wizards shifted their gazes to him, they just saw that he was a little wizard, so they didn't do anything.

If Newt appeared here, he might be surrounded and subdued in the next second. You must know that his old man is also a well-known wanted criminal in France, and has won the title of "French Construction Quality Inspector".

After continuing to observe for a while, David and the others left the Arc de Triomphe before being suspected by the Ministry of Magic.

In the next few days, David handed over the schedule to Jason and Anna, asking them to take him to eat unique cuisine in Paris.

They couldn't find Newt, and they couldn't wait there in the scorching sun. The food in front of them was what mattered.

Two days passed in a flash, and the three of David rushed to the forest where the werewolves gathered early, and perched on a huge tree, disappearing.

"David, are you still there?" Jason whispered, sitting on a tree branch, he should be able to see a human figure.

"Hmm." David tapped lightly on the branch under his body.

"You said. Did they change places? It's all up to now, why is there no one?"

Jason groped and moved to David's side, looking at the red sun half covered by the undulating forest sea in the distance, a little puzzled.

"It's possible, why don't I go and have a look? You are waiting for me here."

He didn't find a single figure for a whole day, and David felt that his previous suspicions might be right. This place might be a grand banquet, but he didn't know who it was for.

Could it be Newt and Dumbledore?

"How can that work?" Jason immediately retorted, "We were called by Mr. Scamander to take care of you. If we let you go alone and something happens, we won't be able to deliver the job then."

David wanted to say: "You two will only drag me down with the past, it's better not to go."

But considering that it was too hurtful, David held it back abruptly, and said in a low voice: "Okay, then you all be careful later."

"Don't worry, I have a lot of combat experience."

Jason said carelessly, and slid down the tree trunk.

But when he stepped on the ground, he stepped on a branch covered by leaves, his body shook, and the branch was driven to roll forward in a circle.

Jason's huge body fell to the ground with a thud, the leaves fluttered, and the surrounding birds enjoying the evening were startled and flew around.

David pulled out his wand in an instant and looked around vigilantly.

Jason also raised his back numbly, leaning against the tree trunk, ready to dodge at any time.

After a while, the aroused birds landed on the treetops again, and the surrounding area calmed down.

David let go of his hanging heart, and Anna fell from the branch, and his body immediately stood firm.

Sensing the movement around him, Jason said embarrassingly, "It was just an accident."

David gave him a blank look, and said helplessly, "Be more cautious later."

Jason showed a naive smile: "Don't worry this time, there will be no accidents!"

"Anna?" David felt that his words were very unreliable.

Anna said firmly: "I will watch him and never let him do anything wrong."

"Okay, then I'm relieved."

David walked down the hillside. According to the memory in the man's mind, the werewolf gathering was in the dense forest below the hill.

Anna and Jason followed David slowly, paying attention to the traces of David's steps.

The terrain is getting lower and lower, and the light is getting darker and darker, leaving only the remnants of the sun coming in through the branches.

But they didn't dare to use the flashing spell, after all, the enemy was in the dark, they were in the light, and if they used it, they would be targets for others, so they could only move forward cautiously.

Suddenly the slight footsteps behind him disappeared, and David turned around in confusion.

The outlines of Jason and Anna's bodies have been revealed, and the disillusionment spell on them is about to lose its effect, but fortunately, the surroundings are almost dark, and it doesn't make much difference whether they are invisible or not.

David looked around and found no one, so he walked up to the two of them and lifted his invisibility and said, "Why don't we wait here for a while until it's completely dark?"

"Okay." Anna nodded slightly.

After using the invisibility spell once, you have to wait for a while before using it again, otherwise the effect will be poor, just like a stupid chameleon.

Walking to a tree trunk lying on the ground, David and the others sat on it, waiting for the night to fall.

There were some rustling sounds from the surrounding branches, as if there were mice moving around.

Then there was a moment of silence, and the sound of chanting mantras sounded quietly.

"Be careful." David waved his wand, and Jason and Anna flew to both sides.

Then he skillfully added a layer of armor to protect himself.

Five or six brightly colored spells have flown to his side
