Hatake Tatsuya in Naruto

Chapter 97

"Master Tatsuya, what were you doing just now?"

In an attempt to ease the tension, Rin abruptly changed the subject.

Terumi Mei didn't display much resistance. Given the current circumstances, saving her own life was already a very big success in her current situation.

"I asked Shikaku to write two letters and to have them delivered to the daimyo of the Land of Fire and my brother on the northern front."

Tatsuya's eyes dimmed, and he continued, "The war here is finally concluded. Shikaku will handle the negotiations and post-war compensations and negotiations. You two will accompany me to the west. Let's swiftly bring an end to this war."

Tatsuya had no interest in getting involved in the trivial matters of compensation or peace treaty. Shikaku had been present on this front for a while now, so he could take on the responsibility.

"Is it only three of us going to the west?" Terumi Mei found it incredulous. However, immediately after uttering this sentence, she couldn't help but want to slap herself.

On the previous battlefield, Tatsuya displayed his horrific strength. Forget about reinforcements; he was on a different level compared to Kage-level shinobi. One person was enough to change the outcome of a war!

Tatsuya aimed to save time by not bringing additional people to the western battlefield. The objective had been achieved, and he had no interest in prolonging the war.

Tatsuya didn't think twice after defeating the "Third Mizukage" and all the members of the Ninja Seven swordsmen. With only the elite Jonin level Yagura remaining, Mist Shinobi wouldn't dare to engage in further combat. Even if they did, the forces left behind would be sufficient to handle them.

"Rin."

Suddenly recalling something, Tatsuya squinted at Rin and said, "Obito... died in battle." After contemplating for a while, Tatsuya chose to use the justification of "death in battle." No one would believe the tale of "fake death."

Hearing this, Rin's eyes sharply contracted. Although she didn't belong to the Minato's team, the bond with Obito wasn't as strong as in the original. Deep sorrow still stemmed from her compassionate nature and the fact that they were classmates, maintaining a good relationship. "After returning to the village, offer flowers at his grave."

Tatsuya left a word of comfort that lacked comfort and then signaled Rin and Mei to prepare to set off quickly.

As for Obito, Tatsuya felt sympathy, but sympathy had its limits, and he had no interest in meddling in affairs that didn't concern him. Saving Rin's life was already exhausting enough for him, and he wasn't inclined to prevent Obito from taking a darker path.

"It's not gender bias," Tatsuya reassured himself internally.

"Master Tatsuya, the letters are finished."

Nara Shikaku approached Tatsuya as he walked out of the camp, presenting two small scrolls that had been ghostwritten.

Tatsuya opened one of them. This was addressed to the Land of Fire, outlining the conditions for the daimyo. The content summarized that immediately after the war is over on all fronts. A high-level meeting of the Land of Fire would be convened to elect a new Hokage. Tatsuya didn't bother reading the other letter, as it was intended for Sakumo, telling him that he was coming as reinforcement to be ready to end the war.

"Master Tatsuya, we are ready." Rin and Mei walked out from the camp behind them, announcing their readiness.

"I'll leave it to you here," Tatsuya said, handing the scrolls back to Nara Shikaku.

"Yes," Nara Shikaku nodded.

"Let's go."

Tatsuya led the two girls outside the camp, heading toward the battlefield where Konoha faced off against Cloud Shinobi and Rock Shinobi in the west. The three figures quickly disappeared from view.

Nara Shikaku was about to turn around and continue his tasks, responsible for negotiating with Mist Shinobi on various post-war matters, including compensation clauses.

"The next Mizukage will probably be Yagura Karatachi," Nara Shikaku thought to himself.

However, before Nara Shikaku could take two steps, a figure who could never be elected and didn't want to fall from the top three ranks of the leadership of Konoha appeared before him.

"Shikaku, can I read those two letters?" Danzo asked with a forced smile, though it was more of a threat than a request.

Nara Shikaku calmly placed the scroll into the ninja bag on his back, stating, "This is confidential."

"I am a member of the Konoha council and have the right to know any village secrets," Danzo retorted, his tone carrying a hint of authority and threat.

Nara Shikaku, unimpressed, thought, "Do you think I am afraid of you?"

Pretending to be kind to anyone didn't suit Danzo's face; it collapsed in two seconds, making it clear why he couldn't compete with Sarutobi Hiruzen.

Though not as sharp-tongued as Nawaki, Nara Shikaku was no longer afraid of Danzo. The members of the Nara clan understood politics better than any other clan in Konoha.

The era of the elders has passed; this is certain. If he handed the letter to Danzo today, Tatsuya would know about this leak sooner or later. On the one hand, there is Tatsuya with the potential for continuous growth in strength, comparable to the First Hokage and Uchiha Madara.

On the other side is the old man, over half a century old, and his strength is waning. Not only Nara Shikaku's mind but anyone with a normal IQ knows how to choose.

"Regrettably, I have other matters that require my attention. Let us part ways here Lord Danzo."

Nara Shikaku left without looking back for a long time.

"Damn it! Damn it!"

Seeing Shikaku's retreating figure, Danzo was about to grind his teeth in anger. Tsunade hadn't become Hokage yet, and the leaders of a ninja clan dared to treat him like this. After Tsunade ascends, that's it! No, I can't just wait and die! "I must find a way."

"Danzo, don't be impulsive."

At this time, Hiruzen walked by, putting a hand on Danzo's shoulder and speaking in a deep voice, "They are waiting for you to act."

"What do you mean?"

Danzo's face changed slightly, squinting at his old friend with whom his friendship had deteriorated.

"Do you think that with Hatake Tatsuya's and Tsunade's character, they don't want to find a chance to retaliate? It's just waiting for us to take the initiative to reveal the flaw."

Sarutobi Hiruzen was more astute than Danzo, whether in strength as a ninja or strategy as a politician.

However, neither Danzo nor Sarutobi Hiruzen knew that when Nara Shikaku got out of their sight, he hid in a corner of the camp, quietly observing them. After eavesdropping on their conversation, he immediately picked up his pen and wrote a new letter, preparing to inform Tatsuya of the dialogue between Danzo and Sarutobi Hiruzen.

In this era of transition between the old and the new, one must quickly ally with the powerful. This is the Nara clan's strategy!
