Haunted Duke’s Daughter

Chapter 43

Forty.

“By the time I got here, all sorts of people were talking about that rumor. There have been rumors before that His Royal Highness and I have dissolved our engagement, but it sounds like a fact.”

“Well…”

– Lilia, calm down! Your voice is trembling!

– That sounds strange to you. What, did this kid know about me after all?

– I don’t think so. Yeah. I guess not. I think it’s simply one of the topics.

I glance softly at Ray’s face. Ray was staring at the material and roaring.

“Ray. The…… What’s wrong with that Liliane guy?

“Huh? No, nothing. I was just wondering what kind of person you could argue with His Royal Highness. With that said, Master Lilia is a senior nobleman, isn’t he? Have you ever met Master Liliane?

– Sakura. Which one is this? You realize that? You haven’t noticed?

– Hmm…… Maybe I haven’t noticed.

– Okay… I believe in Sakura.

Take a deep breath inside and stare back into Ray’s eyes staring at this one. Ray has the usual uncontrolled smile. It sure doesn’t look like you’re up to something.

“I know that for once. I just never talked to him directly.”

– Yeah. You didn’t lie.

“Really? I’m arguing with His Royal Highness, so I’m sure he looks great.”

“Well, I guess…”

Lilia’s cheek snaps. I see, I was just wondering if it would seem that way if I didn’t know anything, if I should just figure out how to move a little bit.

– You know, Lilia. I think it makes you feel better to know each other.

– That’s… I’ll be careful……

I’ll talk to you soon.

I decide to finish the topic before I talk bad and say anything extra. Is Ray aware of that or not,

“Is that true? Looking forward to it.”

I said so with a smile. Lilia had an ambiguous grin and put her gaze back on the book.

Then for a while, every day went on without any change of philosophy. Saila had disappeared from Lilia’s surroundings since the day after that day, but it wasn’t like she hadn’t come to class. I was just making out in my seat.

It was only when Lilia came in that she talked to me, but she’s back in her seat whether Lilia gave up on ignoring me or not. He talked to me every time an acquaintance came in after that, but he wasn’t dealt with by anyone.

Still remaining without running away from the classroom is honestly admirable. I don’t know if that comes from reflection, but she won’t be able to move for a while.

Rumor has it that Saila had been summoned by the prince after school. That’s where Root Digging Leaf Digging would have been asked. I wish it could be some kind of medicine for Sarah and for the Prince, but that’s exactly what I expect.

By the way, Tina gave me a very bitter look when I heard the rumors. But he doesn’t say anything about Lilia, and at the end of the day, he laughs bitterly and says thank you.

That didn’t look the same over the weekend. Saila is in her seat, nagging and grooming.

– Hey, Lilia.

Lilia tilted her consciousness to the sarcastic voice that echoed in her head.

– Are you sure you don’t want five other people besides Sarah?

What Sakura is saying is the other five who sent an unpleasant letter to Tina. We know who did this through the coverts’ investigation. But Lilia had no hand in the five men.

– You don’t have to. No one would be foolish enough to harass you any more because Saila was showing off. Well, it would be temporary.

– Yeah…… That’s fine.

That’s all we talked about, a teacher and a prince came into the classroom. Classes begin, as usual, with the teaching table and seats. Naturally Lilia,

– It’s science today!

– Yes, sir.

I started listening to all the stories in order to get a Sakura lecture.

I finish my morning class, finish my lunch, and spend the afternoon in the library. After that usual day, Lilia headed to the classroom without going back to her room.

Looks like we’re just finishing class, and the teacher comes out of the classroom. Admitting Lilia’s appearance, she peeled her eyes like a little.

“Doctor, isn’t that just a little rude?

“Oh, oh…… I’m sorry. I didn’t think you’d be back… But, Ardis. If you’re being rude, I don’t want you to tell me you haven’t heard the class properly.

“Oh. Were you aware? I’m sorry.”

“I know perfectly well that I’m not willing to fix it. Well, I won’t say any more while I get good grades.”

When the teacher ended the conversation there, he disappeared straight into the back of the hallway. Lilia, who dropped it off, had a slightly more impressive look.

– That teacher, you noticed. That Lilia hasn’t listened to class at all.

– I didn’t think you’d notice… What a surprise. We need to be a little more careful.

At least a little more meaningful class, I suppose, but compared to Sakura’s lecture, it would be called cruelty. Lilia sighed, opening the classroom door.

You were having a chat. It was noisy in the classroom, but as soon as Lilia got in, it got quiet. I don’t have to worry about anything, but I look around the classroom thinking. Everyone was out of sight of Lilia.

While wondering, find the person you want, Seela. And it was quickly found.

Sarah remained seated in her seat. I can’t see the expression because I’m upset. And around that sailor, Chris and the others stood. There are also two people left around Lilia. Just seeing that, I could imagine what they were doing.

– What is Prince Fool doing?

– You’re not in this room. Well, he’s the one who’s gonna be flustered, and I don’t know what else to do.

– Even a prince, I suppose. I wonder if he even received a call from the castle. Than that……

When Lilia saw Chris and the others, everyone seemed out of sight at first sight. Man, I shake my head and walk over to you.

– Lilia. Help him.

– I know.

Lilia replied briefly and stood before Chris and the others.
