Hunter of the Perished World

Chapter 52

[52] Noon to Sunrise (2)

Gene quickly sweeps through their armor.

‘Monkey Gun.’

The slatters held a single rifle on their shoulders. They were armed with firearms, though crude, as they feared to reach the North of the Korean Peninsula.

Of course, ten shots of something like that can cause a gun to buckle, with poor accuracy, poor speechlessness and poor range.

But most importantly, there was nothing wrong with killing a man, and it was an overwhelmingly advanced weapon compared to crossbows and bows.

On the back of the junk wagon they gather, the heads of those who appear to have just died are tied to a rope, and they’re attached to their tails. The heads that were lying on the ground were being dragged back to the sky with every jolt of junk wagon.

‘The scavengers have turned the slatters around.’

Scavengers swarm in to rob Wargrave’s equipment and slatters in to rob them.

Actually, it’s a natural phenomenon.

Boooaoaoang!

“Ouch! Footprints!”

“Those footprints are so fresh!”

A total of seven slatters came running, stopping as soon as they saw the footprints on the river. As soon as the seven junk wagons stop violently, they lower their weapons.

“You left in a hurry.”

“Huh-huh-huh-huh.”

Scavengers flee, but the sand on the river still shows their path. So, in fact, hiding didn’t mean anything.

In times of crisis, people make irrational decisions. They should have scattered and fled so that only a few of them could survive.

One of the slatters shouts.

“If you come out now, I’ll kill you clean! ”

If you don’t come out now, you’ll be in terrible shape, begging you to kill me. And Slater knows how to kill people just as well as he knows how to suffer. So that’s not just a threat.

However, there was no response from the hidden scavengers.

Everyone was not coming out of the armored car just in case. Leona stares at the slatters nervously.

What are the feelings of those who are hiding? It’s obvious you’re praying to a god who doesn’t have a heart burst in fear. You may wish for some kind of storm to come and save your lives.

The slatters start their search with a giggle, and quickly pull out a frightened scavenger in the armored car.

“Ugh, ugh… Ugh… Please help me. Help me.”

“Oh, look at this guy’s scared. Poor thing.”

“Help me! I’m sorry! I’m sorry!”

“Hey, this guy’s funny. ”

A slater opens its yellow teeth and smiles widely. He looks down at the frightened scavenger.

“I don’t know what you did wrong, but why would you do that? ”

Phew!

“Shhh!”

“Wow, you’ve been eating well. Your voice is killing me!”

Scavengers with thighs on their machetes scream, and the other slatters giggle as they see him struggling in blood.

“Fuck… ”

Leona speaks in a very small voice. Slatters were making someone suffer and enjoying the way they crawled around like bugs. Leona hurt someone if she needed to, but she doesn’t just attack someone to see the wound.

I’ve seen it at Ard Point, but I still haven’t gotten used to it. Slater, who discovered the scavenger first, was literally playing with a suffering scavenger. Maybe he’s trying to dissect it alive. He pulls out his dagger and his eyes gleam in frenzy.

“Huh-huh-huh-huh! Huh-huh-huh-huh-huh!”

The already captured scavenger is smiling with a vigorous smile, if he has lost his mind in that short amount of time. Slatters pursue other footprints to capture the remaining scavengers. One person has already been found.

They didn’t have the courage to save their murdered friend. But there is enough awareness that we have to run away from this situation.

They come out of hiding and start running. Slatters shout at them.

“Heave!”

“Fire!”

Ta-da!

“Ow!”

“Huff!”

“Aah!”

Three out of five rifles jump out of the fire in an instant. But the two were still running, whether it was a misaim or a firearm.

“Fire again! ”

Slatters reload quickly, not intending to let the other two live. And then, Gene’s expression changed rapidly.

“Regular ammo?”

Their one-way rifle was modeled after BoltAction, not a muscat, although it was cruel. So, they weren’t shooting at the beads, they were using formula shells. Of course, a shotgun that fires a bead needs to get gunpowder and shave the beads, but a shotgun that uses formula ammunition has a chance of looting ammunition.

That’s why slatters use shotguns, so there’s nothing unusual about them.

Bullets are for plunder.

Gene then examined the shape of the bullets they were loading.

‘5.56 mm ammunition. Use at least seven 7.62 mm ammunition to obtain a large quantity of 5.56 mm ammunition….’

Gene quickly clears his mind and pauses.

‘It’s not a losing business.’

Paan!

“Huff!”

Along with the faint sound of the sound of the silencer fading, the M700 Lemington breathes fire. Leona takes a deep breath, surprised by Gene’s sudden firing, and shuts her up.

It was not difficult for Gin to hit a running target at a distance of 300 meters. A slater hits the head with a bullet almost simultaneously with the sound.

“What?”

At first, slatters couldn’t even perceive what was happening when they saw a fellow running in front of them with a hole in his head.

Chop chop.

But even in that short time of embarrassment, the hunter quickly reloads the next catapult.

Paan!

It wasn’t until the second man fell that the slatters realized the situation and shouted.

“Sniper!”

“Hide!”

Even though they were both down, it wasn’t three seconds after the initial hit, so the slatters’ reactions were still fast.

Slatters then began to hide from cover, but once they heard the gunfire, it was difficult to find the source of the short-cut sound, so they didn’t know which direction to cover. Three of the five survivors were able to cover exactly where Gin accidentally shot them, but not the other two.

One was hiding behind the armored car, but regrettably he was circling the perimeter, looking in the opposite direction.

Paan!

The third bullet pierces the poor slater’s head again. The rest of you, when Slater dies, realize that the direction of cover is wrong and move in the opposite direction and get out of Gene’s range.

She looks at three blowholes in her head in a flash, and she’s horrified, covering her mouth.

“Over there! The middle hill across the river!”

“Get in the armored car!”

Only then were four surviving slatters able to pinpoint the sniper’s position with their fallen comrades from cover. And they got into the armored car, which was perfectly concealed. But knowing doesn’t mean anything.

Their firearms are crude, close to a hundred meters in range. That’s why it’s not possible to resist knowing where Jin is coming from from.

Surrounded by broken chariots and armored cars, while snipers scope at them with firearms that cover the entire riverside at high altitudes.

Escaping assumes you have to go to the open zone. And that means getting into sniper fire with a creepy, precise head shot.

Slatters had to sweat cold, unlike what they had just enjoyed. They were surrounded by only one sniper.

The difference between the weapons makes the scavengers run from the slatters. But again, because of the difference in weapons, slatters were unable to attack Gene or escape.

Leona also knew that the importance of the Three Muskets came to nothing. Even a sharpshooter who can hit an enemy a kilometer away won’t matter if he has a pistol in his hand.

It is the law of the wilderness that I will die depending on what I am holding. And the difference between gun and gun fighting, and finding the enemy first and occupying the high ground, is an absolute element of life and death.

Gene had the upper hand in all aspects and elements. That’s why the slatters became rats in the poison at the same time.

Accuracy of firearms can also be said to be good. But more importantly, what equipment do you have before the battle? How alert they are. It all includes how advantageous the location is.

Gene didn’t say anything. Just showing Leona what it means to survive in the wilderness.

The slatters quickly entered the armored car before being shot at, covering themselves in the direction they thought they would be shot at. Covering one side was slatters enough to know that the sniper could be exposed to the fire when he changed position.

The scavengers have already fled even those wounded enough to move.

Jean doesn’t explain anything, but Leona seems to know.

Slatters used to bounce back and forth until they knew where the gunfire was, but not now.

They will hold their breath in the direction of the gunfire and wait for nightfall. It’s still a long year, but Leonardo can linger for as long as he wants to survive.

Jin was also aware of the situation rather than continuing to shoot.

‘Now that you’re inside the armored car, even if you change your sniper’s position, you can’t shoot. It’s a loss to use thermal bombs, but we can fight a war across the river…’

But they’re also going to maximize their senses now, and if anyone crosses the river, they’ll fight Gin, who’s too scared to hear it.

Changing the sniper’s position has no advantage. Crossing the river will expose yourself to slater four attacks.

‘Circumvention is one way to do it. You don’t have to give up on me.’

You don’t have to do the hard work of finding and killing hidden enemies. Gene is already in a position to spot trends in all of them, and giving up that advantage and going after them is too aggressive.

Boldness in the wilderness is a virtue to be forgotten. Only a defensive attitude ensures survival. Of course, that defensive attitude is just a word that changes with time and place.

‘We should wait for him to come out relaxed. It’ll crawl out at night.’

Slater and Jean both began to wait for the night in different ways. Leona doesn’t even know what Jean’s thinking, but she’s still breathing heavily.

Jin stares at the other side of the river, still.
