I am Kurt Von Ritzburg

Chapter 33. The Assassination

With utmost silence, Miria and I walked out from the bushes and looked at the noble's mansion.

The mansion was surrounded by gray-coloured walls, with guards around the huge gate in constant surveillance.

Entering through the unopened gate without magic is impossible. With my current amount of recovered magic, I can easily do it, but it's better not to use it.

'If I empty that minuscule amount of magic power I have at the moment, how can I use it in times of emergencies!'

If something I have learnt as a villain, it is to keep a last card at all costs.

'And for a weird reason, I am having a bad feeling about this.'

My body keeps tingling, telling me something is not right.

But I can't abort at the moment just relying on this feeling!

Miria is all up to here just to avenge her parents. And if I back out, all that hard work to get her heart, and the most important - the massage appointment, all that will vanish like bubbles!

And because of that I made a sacrifice. Yes, I, despite being a villain, made a sacrifice.

Knowing my life could be in danger, I still accompanied her in this mission.

Don't underestimate the power of a determined virgin! More so, when he is just a mile away from losing it.

But how should we enter?

Both of us could kill the guards but…

'It's too troublesome.'

We came to kill and clean off that noble who harmed Miria's parents. It's a single kill. No need to take meaningless lives.

I doubt her parents ever wanted her to take revenge, let alone killing countless to succeed it.

'If I didn't decide to take her, she would have walked down the path of being a devil wrecking around different nations and killing countless people.'

Which is something her parents never want her to become nor do I for our own obvious reasons.

'So, don't worry, Miria. You will be safe as my wife.'

I turned around to look at her face, but all came to sight was a blurred image. It meant that mask was working perfectly, but it surely ruined the moment.

But I noticed one thing. Her eyes.

'She…'

Her eyes contained silent anger, which could burst out at any moment. Knowing that we are about to kill the perpetrator, basically the noble's father who ordered the guard to come and burn her parents alive, it made all the anger she had inside come out.

'There is no way I can quit it now.'

All those other ideas I had vanished on the spot. With no way out, I steeled myself to get through it.

'Come in, Kurt! You can do it!'

Yes. There is nothing to be afraid of. This is more easy than hunting a calamity class demon beast.

Convincing myself, I took a deep breath and made my breaths normal for stealth to work.

'We will climb through the walls.'

I gestured to Miria to enter by climbing the walls instead of taking useless risks. And fortunately, she agreed to it.

'With her anger, I wouldn't be surprised if she refused it.'

She seems quite different from the moment we arrived at the spot. It is understandable, but I hope she doesn't lose herself in anger. Or else who will massage me?

Both of us positioned ourselves and on the count of three, we rushed and kicked the wall with our feet and grabbed the top.

The soundless boots worked perfect, making no sounds to be heard and both of us climbed up using our own arm strengths.

"We're in."

"Let's not waste time and go in."

Both of us jumped off the wall and entered the premises of the mansion. The inside was drastically different from the outside world, it was more like I entered a different world.

'Too luxurious!'

Even our Ritzburg mansion isn't as shiny as this one. I have yet to enter the mansion and already I can see the money piled up by the nobles here by charging exorbitant amounts of taxes from commoners.

As expected of Bluesphere Empire.

'Since I am here, I can't leave this as it is.'

Soon, the owner is about to die anyway, what is he going to do with all this capital after his death?

Rather than let it rot or get robbed by other nobles, it's better for me to take over it and use it. And I am betting my life to kill him, so this much reward is well-deserved.

The existence of money changed the worried person inside me into an excited one. Now, even I wanted to go in as fast I could and take out all the roots of the problems.

But before both of us could find a proper time to enter, we noticed the abnormal amount of full geared guards marching towards the gate like in the times of war.

"What's happening?"

"Should we go close and check it out?"

"Let's go."

Something unexpected has started to happen. Both of us quietly blended ourselves and joined the guards, who didn't even realize that there were additional two walking behind them.

And within this distance, I could hear all the gossip happening between the marching guards.

"Who dared to kill the young master?"

"He must be an idiot."

"That's right. Taking the life of a noble, doesn't he want to live?"

"Well, he ran out of his luck. We will kill him and get the rewards from the master."

And both of us stood still, breaking out ourselves from the platoon and then hid in the nearest shade.

"Kurt—"

"I know. These are the soldiers ordered by the noble to kill us."
