I Became a Level -99 Vicious Lord

Chapter 145:

“I pledge… my utmost devotion.”

Drake bowed his head, pledging his allegiance to Otto.

It was an awkward stance.

At one time he’d aimed for the Navy, but being the son of a pirate forced him to be one, and thus uneducated in the ways of etiquette….

But the raw sincerity oozing out of him covered the awkwardness.

*Shiiing!*

Camille pulled out his sword and offered it respectfully to Otto.

*Tap*

Otto tapped Drake’s shoulder and head lightly with his sword and spoke.

“I accept you as a vassal, and grant you the title of Count and the rank of Grand Admiral of the Navy.”

“I am honored. Your Majesty”

“Rise.”

Otto helped Drake to his feet.

[Alert: You have succeeded in recruiting “Francis Drake”!]

[Alert: Drake’s potential has been weakened!]

[Alert: Drake’s scenario has been destroyed!]

A hazy string of notifications flickered in and out of existence.

“I hope this eases your mind a little.”

“At the very least, it’s not tormenting me. I can’t live and breathe with the same air as my family’s enemies. I am satisfied with this.”

“Very well then.”

Of course, even if he succeeded in his revenge, the dead family members would not return.

But with Avery dead, the anger and hatred that had been burning inside of him would gradually dissipate.

“You’ve been injured. Get some medical attention.”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

Drake stepped toward the medical bay.

“We’re not quite done yet. I need you all to stay strong until we’ve wiped out the last of the remnants and captured all the pirate ships.”

“Yes, Your Majesty!”

The battle was far from over.

While almost all of the pirates had surrendered, there were a few ships that refused to submit and put up a last stand.

*Splash!*

Otto boarded the [Red Goddess] and pursued the pirate ships as they either resisted or fled.

Along the way.

“Huh?”

Otto’s eyes rounded as he saw a familiar figure fighting on top of one of the pirate ships.

“Qasim…?”

Qasim was on the deck, slaughtering pirates.

‘Why are you out there…?’

*Zing!*

*Ziiiinnng!*

Qasim whirled around five cubes, unleashing a barrage of lasers.

That wasn’t all.

“Gwik! Gwick! Gwiiikkkk!!”

Next to him, a giant Penguin was spewing cold air from its mouth, freezing the pirates to death.

‘Huh? Isn’t that a Peng?’

Otto immediately identified the penguin.

It was a strange sight.

Why would Qasim, who had been tasked with dropping off the pirates’ captives at the nearest harbor, be here on [Skull Island]?

And with a Tundrian Peng from the northern polar region?

“Qasim!!”

Otto called out to Qasim.

*Zwiinggg!!*

“Kaaaargh!”

Qasim didn’t hear Otto’s shout as he was busy crushing the second in command of the Sea Serpent Pirates with his whirling cubes.

“QASIM!!!”

“Aah!? Your Majesty!”

Qasim’s eyes widened as he finally heard Otto’s voice.

*Whoosh!*

Qasim rotated the cubes under his feet and floated over to the [Red Goddess].

*Flap!* *Flap!* Flap!*

The Peng also flapped its cute, tiny wings, displaying its ability to hop from ship to ship.

“Qasim, Chief of the Air Force, greets your majesty.”

Qasim dropped to one knee and bowed to Otto.

“Guick! Guic to see you! Gwick!”

The Peng also greeted Otto.

“Why are you here…?”

“Oh, yes.”

Qasim scratched the back of his head and laughed.

“…That’s what happened, hahaha.”

Qasim told Otto about all the things that had happened.

How he had been caught in a storm and swept out to sea.

How when he woke up, he was rescued by a Peng.

‘What are you, a druid, and now you’re picking up the Pengs too?’

The story of how he met a group of pirates while floating on a slowly melting glacier.

The story of how he was drained and on the brink of death, when the cubes appeared and fired lasers at the pirates.

‘Those were the cuboids that fought in the ancient ruins at that time, right?’

After defeating the pirates and making their way to [Claw Island], they were accidentally caught in a whirlpool.

And when they regained their bearings, they were in the middle of a naval battle, and saw the sight of three Krakens.

At this point, it’s embarrassing to say that Qasim was simply unlucky.

It was like when one falls backwards, one’s nose will break, and the back of one’s skull will crack.

However, considering that Qasim didn’t die, he wasn’t completely out of luck.

It was just an unwanted ordeal.

‘Was that all real?!’

Perhaps, Otto reflected, Kairos might be a good contemplator.

“Still, it’s a relief to see you safe and well, Qasim.”

“Haha… hahaha.”

“I thought I’d never see you again, Heuk.”

Qasim’s teary eyes reddened.

He was worn out from unwittingly going through another round of hardship and misfortune.

The sight of Otto made the last few days burst out of him.

“Oh my. Our Qasim. It’s okay, you’re safe.”

“Heukk.”

“You’ve been through so much.”

Otto soothed and comforted Qasim.

Because of his peculiar fate, Qasim, who continued to suffer, seemed pitiful.

“But….”

Otto glanced over at the Peng.

“Are you….”

“Guic?”

“Gui. Guick. Guick. Chirp. Guk. Guiiiikk, chirp, chirp, chirp. Gui. Guic. Guuk. Guik. Guik. is. Guik?”

“Guuiiiic?!”

The Peng’s eyes widened.

“Guic? How do guick know my name, Guic?”

“Am I right, you’re Gui. Guick. Guick. Chirp. Guk. Guiiiikk, chirp, chirp, chirp. Gui. Guic. Guuk. Guik. Guik. is. Guik?”

“Yes! Guic!”

In that moment.

‘What is he saying?’

‘You know that penguin’s name?’

‘What the hell are they talking about?’

The people around him were puzzled that Otto knew the penguin’s name correctly.

But the person who was really puzzled was Otto.

‘Why is the prince of the Peng tribe here?’

It turns out that the penguin that Qasim had picked up was not just any penguin, but a prince of the Peng Tribe, a powerful faction in Tundria.

The Prince of the Peng Tribe [Gui. Guick. Guick. Chirp. Guk. Guiiiikk, chirp, chirp, chirp. Gui. Guic. Guuk. Guik. Guik. is. Guik]……..

‘And now he’s even bringing back Lord as he goes.’

Otto shook his head in incredulity.

After all, the Peng was among the 100 Lords, who were the protagonists of the game, The [Territory War].

[Tundria] was actually not a region that had a significant impact on the main scenario of [Territory Wars].

Due to the fact that it was a cold polar area and an outlying region, it had a relatively minor global influence.

As a result, [Tundria] was seen as a sort of side story or event stage.

In fact, [Tundria] was the last DLC content to be added.

As the Northern Empire descends southward, a great war breaks out among humans, and the other races living in [Tundria] suffer extreme damage and environmental destruction.

…This was the scenario that encompassed the entire region of [Tundria].

But even in [Tundria], there were also Lord characters, and they had their own scenarios.

Peng was one such [Tundria] Lord character.

‘A prince of the Peng Tribe who can’t swim. He was bullied by his own people and was never treated like a prince. Later, he ascends to the throne after helping to defend Tundria from an invasion by the Northern Empire.’

Peng’s scenario is a traditional coming-of-age story.

Because of his cute appearance, Peng was accepted as the mascot of [Territory Wars], and because of that, he has a very large fan base.

‘This is so absurd.’

Otto didn’t know how to react to Qasim’s grandeur in picking up such a penguin.

“But. I suppose this isn’t unreasonable.’

However, upon closer inspection, it wasn’t an entirely impossible story.

Oddly enough, Peng wasn’t a character that gamers choose to play.

It was a way to meet and form friendships with outsiders(gamers)who happened to stumble into Tundria, and work through hardships and adversity together.

“Pleased to meet you. My name is Otto de Scuderia, King of the Kingdom of Lota.”

Otto stretched his arms out behind him like folded wings as he greeted Peng.

“Guic?!”

Peng was surprised when Otto greeted him in the traditional Peng manner.

He hadn’t expected a continental person to know Peng etiquette.

“Gui. Guick. Guick. Chirp. Guk. Guiiiikk, chirp, chirp, chirp. Gui. Guic. Guuk. Guik. Guik. is. Guik. It’s Peng, My name is Peng in the Continental Style! Nice to meet you! Guic!”

“Yeah, me too.”

Otto grabbed Peng’s outstretched wings.

‘What kind of human are you?’

‘You can communicate with a penguin like this?’

The people around him were stunned in amazement.

The Pengs are a race that few people ever see in their lifetime.

If the ability to communicate and exchange greetings skillfully with such beings isn’t fascinating, then wouldn’t that be even stranger?

But it wasn’t just Otto who surprised everyone.

“Guick Gui Guk. Guiic Guuck Gui.”

(Nice to meet you. My name is Elise.)

Elise greeted Peng in their native language.

“Guic?!”

Peng exclaimed in surprise.

“Gui Guik Guic Guuiiick Gui gui GguiIck?!”

(Do you really know the language of the Peng people, Guic?!)

“Gu Guiick Guiick G Guuk.”

(I learned it during my time on the other side of the Wall.)

Elise spoke fluently, even the difficult tones (↑↓↙↘), and communicated with Peng without discomfort.

‘This is happening?!’

Even Otto was surprised by Elise’s fluency.

‘What the hell.’

Camille, who had been watching the scene, exhaled heavily in bewilderment.

But one thing was certain.

Neither Otto nor Elise would ever be considered a “normal” human.

Afterwards, Otto led his entire fleet to the [Gurling Archipelago].

They won a great naval victory.

Pirate Lord Avery was slain.

All that’s left is to take control of the strategically important [Gurling Archipelago].

“This isn’t the direction of the [Gurling Archipelago].”

Drake frowned as Otto directed the fleet in the wrong direction.

“Uh. No.”

“Isn’t our top priority right now to secure the [Gurling Archipelago]?”

“That’s right.”

“Then why aren’t we heading to the [Gurling Archipelago]….”

“How do we breach through there?”

“That’s….”

Otto’s question left Drake speechless.

The [Gurling Archipelago] is a natural fortress, where even a small force can stop a large army.

No matter how large the [Black Fleet] was, if they were to blindly attack the [Gurling Archipelago], they would literally be sunk with a gurl.

“It would be suicidal to break through the defense line of the [Gurling Archipelago]. Of course, with our current capabilities, we might be able to break through, but then we’d incur some damage.”

“It’s impossible to win a battle without taking damage….”

“What if there is a way?”

“What… do you mean?”

“We don’t have to spill blood.”

With that, Otto continued to lead the fleet in the wrong direction.

And then.

“Huh? Wh-what?”

“Look, there’s a big reef up ahead!”

People screamed as Otto tried to steer the Fleet into the big reef.

“What do you think you’re doing!”

“Hey you lunatic, why would you want to commit a group suicide after we won a fierce battle already!”

Camille and Kairos cursed, yet Otto didn’t care.

Just then, the [Serpent’s Tongue], which was at the forefront of the fleet, collided with the reef.

*Swoosh!*

The [Serpent’s Tongue] emitted a green light.

*Whoooosh!*

Space and time warped in front of the reef, and the center of the [Gurling Archipelago] appeared before them.
