I Contracted Myself

Chapter 19 – Powerful canopy

Mingzhu City, atop the lookout tower.

Zhang Ping and Liu Sishan stood together, both watching the three Tianchang Foxes walking down the street in the distance.

"Sister Sisi, are we just here to watch the Tianchang Foxes kill people?" Zhang Ping frowned as he looked at Liu Sishan.

Liu Sishan kept her gaze on the Tianchang Foxes and said calmly, "Keep watching."

The three Tianchang Foxes thought they were walking down the street, but they had actually turned into the arena square.

Only then did Zhang Ping notice Jin Bo and the others following behind the three Tianchang Foxes.

He immediately realized they were members of the Sweep Team.

Thanks to the Wind Whisperer, he knew the names and abilities of most Sweep Team members, but he hadn't met them in person, so he couldn't match names to faces.

Only when they showcased their abilities could he match names to people.

"Are you going to take down those three Tianchang Foxes?" Zhang Ping guessed.

Liu Sishan shook her head. "No, this is just a test. The Moon Prince you mentioned earlier is the real target. We need all the information on him."

"You want to lure him out, but will he come?" Zhang Ping looked towards the City Lord's mansion in the distance.

Currently, all the Tianchang Foxes were holed up in the City Lord's mansion, waiting for the Mutated Beasts to invade, aiming to throw Mingzhu City into chaos first.

Once all the human strongmen made their moves, they would clean them up in one fell swoop.

They weren't after beasts; they wanted poultry!

Liu Sishan said calmly, "It doesn't matter. If he doesn't come, he doesn't come."

If he doesn't come, those three Tianchang Foxes are doomed.

If he does come, he might not be able to save them.

The Illusory Light Sky had multiple purposes, one of which was to trap the Tianchang Foxes. As long as they dared to come out, they would be killed, no matter how many.

Although this move was a temporary solution and would become ineffective once the Moon King awakened, it was useful for now.

The battle was about to begin.

Golden lightning patterns appeared all over Jin Bo's body, and his hair stood on end, glowing with a golden light.

"Wow, a Super Saiyan!" Zhang Ping was astonished at the sight.

It was his first time seeing Jin Bo in action. Although he knew a lot about Jin Bo through the Wind Whisperer, seeing it in person was vastly different.

Jin Bo's ability was called 'Golden Blood.'

This ability gave his blood various uses, and this transformation was one of them.

Additionally, his blood was rich in vitality, capable of rapidly healing wounds, immunizing against most toxins, and even rejuvenating the elderly if there was enough of it.

He had almost no weaknesses.

The only way to kill him was to face an enemy of a higher Rank.

He made his move.

Jin Bo's muscles bulged, and the golden patterns looked like real lightning. He stepped forward and punched his target with full force.

Moon One reacted the fastest.

As Jin Bo approached, it turned around instantly but saw nothing; the Illusory Light Sky blocked its vision.

But the moment Jin Bo's fist broke through the sky, it raised its hands to block, only to be sent flying dozens of meters away, crashing heavily into the concrete of the arena, turning the '口'-shaped arena into a '凹' shape.

As Jin Bo launched his attack, two other Sweep Team fighters also made their moves.

Moon Two and Moon Three were even more unfortunate than Moon One.

They were attacked by fighters Lu Han and Ding Chen, respectively.

Ding Chen's ability was cutting rays, a purely offensive power.

His eyes could shoot out ghostly blue rays, which had no temperature but possessed terrifying cutting power.

Lu Han's ability was psychic control.

He generated psychic energy within his body, which he could control with his will, enhancing weapons significantly or even remotely controlling flying swords, acting as a sword immortal.

Both were high-attack, low-defense Awakeners.

With the element of surprise, Moon Two lost an arm and an eye.

Its arm was hit by the ray from Ding Chen's right eye, and its eye was hit by the ray from his left eye. If it hadn't dodged at the last moment, it wouldn't have just lost an eye; its head would have been pierced through.

Moon Three had a deep gash on its chest from Lu Han, lying on the ground, barely breathing.

Roar!

Seeing this, Moon One roared in anger.

The three fighters were shrouded in a sky curtain, appearing as three strong white apes to Moon One.

If the opponents were human, it would try to disrupt them with words, but against other Mutated Beasts, it could only rely on strength.

"Finish it quickly!"

Jin Bo didn't speak, just gestured to the other two before charging at Moon One.

As they closed in, both sides punched at each other's heads. Moon One, standing at three and a half meters tall with two-meter-long arms, had the advantage.

The problem was, it saw a false image of Jin Bo.

In its eyes, Jin Bo appeared as a three-meter-tall white giant ape, so it aimed its punch at a height of three meters, but Jin Bo wasn't that tall, causing Moon One's punch to miss.

Then it was hit in the jaw by Jin Bo, its teeth shattering instantly, and its body lifted off the ground.

The ensuing battle was one-sided.

One mistake led to another.

Jin Bo unleashed a flurry of punches, venting all his accumulated anger on Moon One. Moon One's arms broke, its internal organs shattered, and its entire body was pummeled.

"They're coming, retreat!"

The member in charge of covering the battle spoke up.

Jin Bo took one last look at the unconscious Moon One, stomped its head to pieces, and turned to leave.

All Sweep Team members, shrouded by the sky curtain, vanished from the square in an instant.

"So strong!" Zhang Ping was shocked as he looked at the square.

The entire arena square looked like it had been bombarded by dozens of rounds of artillery, and the three Tianchang Foxes' corpses were in a miserable state. Jin Bo and the others had deliberately left the bodies behind.

"It seems we overestimated the Tianchang Foxes' strength," Liu Sishan said.

They had expected a tough battle for Jin Bo and the others against opponents of the same Rank, but the Tianchang Foxes were killed instantly.

"No, it's just that they didn't want to tear the human skin off their foreheads. Once they do, they won't be so easy to deal with," Zhang Ping said.

Through the Wind Whisperer, he knew that the human skin on the Tianchang Foxes' foreheads was a condition for their abilities.

As long as the skin remained, they were maintaining their abilities, which was a form of restraint. If they tore it off and fully unleashed their powers, the fight would be much harder.

At that point, the battle would become a pure illusionary fight.

After all, the Tianchang Foxes were psychic Mutated Beasts, and close combat wasn't their forte.

As Zhang Ping spoke, the Moon Prince suddenly descended from the sky, landing in the arena square.

In fact, the Moon Prince had sensed the battle the moment Jin Bo and Moon One clashed, but it couldn't pinpoint the exact location.

It had flown into the air but couldn't find the battlefield from above.

It wasn't until Moon Two and Moon Three were killed that it locked onto the location by the scent of blood.

But it was already too late.

The Moon Prince stood among the three corpses, its aura becoming terrifying.

From a distance, Zhang Ping was about to use his Appraisal Skill when he suddenly felt a terrible premonition, as if he saw a vision of his head being smashed by a tail the moment he used the skill.

"I can't use the Appraisal Skill!"

Zhang Ping clenched his fists, his forehead covered in sweat.

"What's wrong?" Liu Sishan asked, looking at Zhang Ping.

Zhang Ping gritted his teeth. "My ability will alert it. Unless someone distracts it, I'll die."

"......"

Liu Sishan frowned slightly. They were over a thousand meters away from the Moon Prince, and it still wasn't safe?

Meanwhile, the Moon Prince's aura grew more terrifying. Suddenly, a hand grabbed its ankle. It squatted down to look at Moon Three, whose chest was still bleeding. Moon Three opened its mouth.

"Don't speak, I'll heal you," the Moon Prince said, trying to tear off the skin on its forehead.

But Moon Three stopped it. With the Moon King still asleep, tearing off the skin would expose them. Without the Moon King's power, the Moon Prince, no matter how strong, couldn't withstand a human siege.

"White apes... attacked us... it was the white ape tribe," Moon Three gasped, struggling to finish its sentence.

After speaking, its eyes dimmed, and it breathed its last.

White apes?

The Moon Prince had thought it was humans, but it was white apes?

It doubted Moon Three's words, but Moon Three had held on until it arrived, so it couldn't have given false information.

The Tianchang Foxes were psychic Mutated Beasts with high resistance to illusions and hypnosis. It didn't believe any enemy could hypnotize Moon Three.

Had the white ape tribe entered Mingzhu City?

The Moon Prince pondered, feeling something was off.

Meanwhile, Zhang Ping and Liu Sishan descended from the lookout tower, heading towards the city outskirts.

"Sister Sisi, where are we going?" Zhang Ping quickened his pace to catch up with Liu Sishan.

Liu Sishan answered as she walked, "The sky curtain can only last for a week. We have a week to figure out the Moon Prince's strength. I don't know how strong you need to be to use your ability on the Moon Prince, but your current Level is too low."

"So?" Zhang Ping asked, puzzled.

Liu Sishan said calmly, "The fastest way for an Awakener to level up is through combat. So for the next five days, I'll take you for combat training. The remaining day will be for returning and finding a chance to confirm the Moon Prince's abilities. Hopefully, you'll grow strong enough by then."

"Can I not go?" Zhang Ping asked, somewhat resistant.

Liu Sishan replied, "You can, but if the Tianchang Foxes target you again, I won't save you."

"Alright, I'll go."

What else could Zhang Ping say? Although he was resistant, it wasn't a firm resistance.

He then thought of Iron Soul and the Beast King Boxing School and asked, "What about my job at Iron Soul and my classes at the Beast King Boxing School?"

"I've asked Wang Jieming to take care of it," Liu Sishan replied.

In fact, Zhang Ping didn't reject any method to improve his strength. He just didn't want to hand over the initiative of his training to Liu Sishan. After all, she didn't know his specific situation, and the battles she arranged might not be very helpful to him.

But with the conversation at this point, Zhang Ping had no choice but to follow Liu Sishan out of the city.
