The days pass as I attend school. It was simple days. I attend school with Melanie and Sylvia. Whenever I see the prince, I make sure to evade him. It is too early for us to interact. It is inevitable but I still hope that it will not happen. For the female protagonist, I still pour a cup of water on her head whenever I see her. During the weekends, Melanie usually stays in the dorm while I force Sylvia to go outside every Sunday.
“How has school been for both of you?”
We were lounging in the dorm in the morning as I asked both that question. We still had the same group as none of us really interacted with anyone. The potential clique members have not spoken to me as well. Which means my idea was right and I just need to wait for that time.
“There were a lot of things that I do not understand, mistress. Good thing Melanie was willing to help me with them.”
“I am learning a lot. It was weird though that Sylvia does not know a lot of simple things.”
“Sylvia was not given proper education. This is her first time getting to study, the whole time she has been my maid.”
“Wow. You enrolled without any prior education?”
“Hey, I was surprised too. I did not think mistress would enroll me with her.”
“Are you complaining?”
“No, no, no. I am not complaining, mistress.”
“Good.”
Then the doorbell in the dorm rung.
“Please wait for a moment, mistress.”
My maid went towards the door.
“Melanie, how are you getting along with Sylvia?”
Melanie looked shocked as I asked the question.
“Oh, uh, sometimes it’s hard to talk about things. I’m not really sure what she likes but when it comes to our lessons, she has a lot of things to say.”
“Good. Then, what about you?”
“Me?”
“You did say that you have chosen to be my underling because you wanted to improve yourself.”
“Oh, you mean that. Well, I still have a long way to go. Also, we don’t really interact with a lot of people so I don’t really get to see how you treat others. Aside from us and uh, that girl you call red hair. Why aren’t you asking for her name anyway?”
“My answer for that last question is a secret.”
Melanie is right. I have only interacted with certain people since we started school.
“Do not worry Melanie. Once the second month starts, I feel like there will be a lot of commotion in the future.”
Melanie was about to ask a question but that was when my maid arrive.
“Mistress, the principal wants to have a talk with you.”
“Why does the principal want to talk to you? Are you in trouble?”
“No, the principal is also my underling.”
Melanie looked shocked.
“Really?”
“Of course. Do you want to come with us?”
“Uh, won’t I be a bother?”
“No, you are my underling after all.”
Melanie thought for a while.
“Can I decline?”
“For this one, yes.”
“Okay, then I will go to the classroom first then. If anything happens there, I will tell you.”
With that, all three of us headed towards the school. Melanie went to class while my maid and I were in the principal’s office.
“Emilia, why have you called me?”
“Mistress, the school has decided for the team-building event on the end of the month.
“What is it?”
“It is a scavenger hunt.”
“A scavenger hunt?”
“Yes. You might have noticed that the school has a big open area beside a forest. This forest is always maintained. There are no monsters or beasts within it. That is where we will be conducting the hunt.”
“What are the details of this hunt?”
“Students will participate in trials. There are traps, challenges, puzzles, and anything else that the faculty can think of. Each student can go on their own. However, to get their proof of clearing they must have more than one person. Of course, there is a punishment for failing and all students are required to attend.”
“More than one person?”
“Each trial has a set number of participates. The minimum amount is 2 while the highest amount is 6. Essentially, if you find a trial that you do not have the proper amount of people. You either ask for someone to help you or just move on to another one.”
“Hence why it is a team building exercise.”
“Yes. Only those of your same grade shall participate. Although, there will be events with the upper grade students in future months.”
“And what punishments are there?”
“Just simple ones like cleaning classrooms, picking up trash, being a teacher’s assistants. Nothing too hard or demanding.”
“So, are you going to give me a proof of clearing the trials now?”
“Do not worry, mistress. Even if you do not clear a trial, I will announce that you did so. Please go to me if that is the case.”
“All right. How about my maid?”
“Do you wish for me to do the same for your maid, mistress?”
I looked at Sylvia. She had a blank face.
“I have decided. My maid has no need for shortcuts. Sylvia, you will clear a trial and obtain proof for yourself. Is that understood?”
“Yes, mistress!”
“Is there anything else, Emilia?”
“Duke Eterna has requested details of your school life.”
As expected of father.
“Does he know that you are asking for my opinion?”
“I have not informed him, mistress. However, there are people who know that we have been meeting here so I cannot guarantee anything regarding this.”
Understandable, knowing father he has more people looking in the school.
“I see. It is fine, I see nothing to hide for now. Feel free to report as you wish to father.”
“I understand, mistress.”
“Is there anything else, Emilia?”
“Nothing for now, mistress.”
“Then I shall take my leave.”
My maid and I left her office. This was the first main event of the game. Now, should I follow what happens or change it? It is something to consider.
