I Will Grind My Way To Godhood

Chapter 70: Thoughts on Release

I truly thank all the readers for your incredible support. Honestly, the results of my first book are so surreal, it feels like I'm dreaming.

With such unexpectedly great reception, I've approached writing with utmost caution, fearing I might mess something up. The pressure has been immense, pushing me to the brink of anxiety.

Fortunately, we're finally approaching the launch. Whether it soars or sinks depends on this wave. I'm earnestly requesting everyone to subscribe to the first release. It's extremely crucial, not just for future recommendations, but also for my own morale as an author. Losing motivation could indeed lead to a drop in quality.

Next, let's talk about update frequency.

Even amongst authors known for their slow pacing, I anticipate maintaining a top-three spot for the slowest. My daily output is typically about 500 words an hour, with rare bursts reaching 800. It's truly a strain.

In any case, even under such conditions, I must strive to rise. After launching, I will aim to update three chapters regularly and aspire for four, all while ensuring quality before considering any additional updates.

Previously, I mentioned that for every 100 extra monthly votes before launch, I would add one more chapter to the regular update schedule. When I made this statement, we were at 758 votes. Now, I see we've crossed over 2000 votes; you all are amazing...

Let's assume 2100 votes, 2100 minus 700 equals 1400. Hence, I'm currently owing 14 additional chapters... I'm starting to sweat profusely.

I hope that as the 1st approaches and the launch officially begins, everyone will continue to cast their monthly votes for me. Please and thank you!

Writing a book on Qidian truly brings immense pressure. This platform hosts what could be considered the most professional and discerning readers in the entire online literature community. I've personally witnessed countless authors who came to prove themselves only to fall into obscurity; it's genuinely daunting.

Yet, many have advised me that writing on Qidian is akin to courting a woman. If you treat her like a goddess and grovel, you'll never win her affection. You must maintain an ordinary mindset, write what you excel at, and resist catering to your 'imagined taste of Qidian readers.' Ironically, catering too much may lead to failure.

However, once I started writing in earnest, I couldn't help but feel a sense of dread akin to facing a goddess—hesitant and unsure, which resulted in less than ideal output.

Especially when I veered off track in a plot, leading to fluctuations in reader engagement, my mentality truly crumbled...

Later, all I could do was force myself to take comfort by treating every chapter as if it were the last one I’d write, and then to not fear poor results. I envisioned all readers as unfathomable cosmic entities, where thunder, rain, or shine, all were gifts. I embraced the role fate had set for me, because regardless of success or failure, the writing must continue.

Promise me, even if you plan to wait, can you at least check out the first chapter when it releases?

Huge thanks to my editor Canaan, who endures my daily pestering about data with endless patience and offers clear explanations each time. They've given me many sharp and insightful suggestions. Truly, where else would you find such a wonderful editor?

This isn’t mere flattery; they indeed are a great editor.

Thanks to the author of "Final Priesthood," Master Egg Head, for promoting my chapters. That book is genuinely captivating. While I originally aimed to imitate Master Egg Head and create a grand narrative in the same vein, I veered off at some point and completely lost the essence.

Thanks also to the author of "My Superpowers Refresh Weekly," Master Snow, for their chapter promotion. Shengxin Yu—forever a legend.

I would like to express my gratitude to Master Qingquan, author of "Beast King," for promoting my work. "Unscientific Beast Taming" is an excellent read, though I'm not sure when I'll start reading it seriously myself.

Next, I must thank my operator, Abai, who has been a major help. The current success of this book couldn't have been achieved without his vital contributions. He's always there, supporting me when I stress over performance and injecting me with a healthy dose of negativity. Every time, it's a full-on injection.

As for networking, this novice has yet to join a single Qidian group or cultivate connections. Instead, I've relied entirely on the assistance of my editor to help with promotions.

I won't go into personal life matters. After all, I assume none of you want to read about my woes.

There's not much left to say. I wish all my esteemed readers eternal youth and immortality, forever living.

With the book reaching its release, it’s an exciting time, and I hope everyone shows their support!

For every 500 monthly votes, an additional chapter will be released on top of the daily updates.

Stay tuned!
