Immortal Path Space

Chapter 167: Blood Contract Rune

Wang Hong transplanted the Spirit Jujube Tree to a new location at the entrance of his cave mansion. Originally adorned with Spirit Jujubes, the tree now bore only a few immature fruits. Wang Hong's close friends helped themselves to the ripe ones, while others less familiar hesitated. In such cases, Wang Hong would usually pick some to offer as hospitality.

Each Spirit Jujube took over twenty years from flowering to maturity, a pace that couldn't keep up with the rate at which they were consumed. Especially when Elder Brother visited, he spared not even the unripe ones on the tree, relishing every bite.

Now, with over forty acres of spirit fields and twenty Spirit Jujube Trees transplanted from his Space, Wang Hong had no shortage of offerings for guests. Walking under the trees, laden with Spirit Jujubes of various sizes, brought joy even if one didn't indulge in eating them.

Though these Spirit Jujubes were only tier-one Spiritual Objects and tasted delightful, they were relatively insignificant considering Wang Hong's current status. Additionally, he had also transplanted two white crystal fruit trees and a few other tier-two spirit fruits – his regular snacks, now more conveniently accessible.

After setting up his spiritual orchard, Wang Hong still had plenty of space in the forty-acre spirit fields. Contemplating, he decided to plant some crops with shorter growth periods and quicker returns.

Many tier-two Spiritual Objects took a minimum of one to two hundred years, some even several hundred years, to mature. If these objects matured and he achieved the Golden Core stage, they would be of little use to him. If he failed to form a core, he would be dead, rendering them useless.

In the end, he chose to plant Space-mutated Spirit Grain for a second time. This Spirit Grain matured in just ten years in the Space, a significant improvement compared to the longer periods required in regular spirit fields.

However, the last batch of Spirit Grain in Azure Void City had nearly perished, saved only by adding some Space soil. Unfortunately, the regular soil in the external spirit fields did not seem suitable for its growth. The Spirit Grain saplings from Azure Void City had been close to death, saved only by sprinkling some Space soil on them. Moreover, the effectiveness of the Space soil outside the spirit fields was temporary, requiring reapplication after a certain period.

Having hired a few Qi Cultivation Disciples, Wang Hong enlisted their help in planting the Spirit Grain. Planting forty acres of Spirit Grain, even with his current Foundation Building cultivation level, would take several days. He reasoned that this time could be better spent on cultivation. The Qi Cultivation Disciples, on the other hand, would complete the task in just ten days, earning themselves ten Condensing Qi Pills as a reward – a far more efficient arrangement.

This favorable opportunity left countless Qi Cultivation Disciples envious. With the workers assigned, Wang Hong set off to focus on his cultivation.

Within the new cave mansion, the Cultivation Room alone occupied two acres, standing three zhang tall. It provided a convenient space for practicing various Magical Arts, Flying Sword techniques, and other Magical Weapons.

After refining several pills, Wang Hong entered the Space. Amidst the chaos of the past few days, he hadn't spent much time there. Occasionally, he enjoyed idling in this world that belonged solely to him. Floating in the air or reclining among the flowers, he relished the undisturbed tranquility.

Today, he hung himself on a tree branch, allowing his thoughts to wander aimlessly. Suddenly, he noticed a Rune at the center of his head, a Rune he vaguely remembered. It was the Rune Gu Qingyang had inscribed with essence blood when he advanced to Foundation Building.

In the Space, his body was a mere ethereal form resembling a Nascent Soul. The power akin to a Blood Contract was directly imprinted onto his Nascent Soul. Attempting to move the Rune with Divine Sense, he felt a slight tremor before it settled, accompanied by a severe headache.

After the pain subsided, he tried again. This time, the Rune moved slightly, proving he had a chance to shift it. No need to rush; he could deal with it slowly. Unlike other cultivators who couldn't even see their own Nascent Soul, Wang Hong had a chance to move it.

Below the Nascent Soul stage, there was no solution to this issue. Only at the Nascent Soul stage could a cultivator temporarily leave their physical body. In this situation, other cultivators were helpless.

Ten days later, his forty acres of Spirit Grain had been successfully planted. Wang Hong gathered the Qi Cultivation Disciples, rewarding each with ten Condensing Qi Pills. Their joy was concealed, suppressed to avoid bursting out.

"What's your name?" Wang Hong asked a robust Disciple, who had diligently stood out among the rest in the past few days, using Divine Sense to occasionally observe.

"I am Disciple Chen Nian," the Disciple respectfully replied.

"I want to hire you to look after the spirit fields—responsible for watering, weeding, pest control, and all other tasks. Are you up for it?"

External spirit fields required significant time and effort for daily care. Wang Hong's Space, thanks to his vigilance, had no weed seeds, saving him a lot of trouble. Otherwise, with the Space's time dilation of over a hundred times, the weed growth rate would be rapid. He probably wouldn't be able to keep up even with daily weeding.

The same logic applied to pests; without them present in the Space, no watering was needed. The Space soil itself had sufficient humidity for Spirit Plants to grow as long as there was ample Spirit Qi.

Zhen Nian was overjoyed; in these few days, he had observed that this senior uncle was generous, and the treatment was bound to be good.

"Disciple is willing, thank you for senior uncle's kindness!"

Zhen Nian bowed deeply to Wang Hong.

"Alright, from now on, you'll manage the spirit fields here. I'll reward you with ten Condensing Qi Pills each month, and if you perform well, there might be additional rewards."

The other Disciples, not selected by Wang Hong, felt jealous, thinking Chen Nian had struck gold with luck.

None of them realized that while they chatted and goofed off in the spirit fields, Chen Nian diligently worked. While they casually tended to the crops, Chen Nian meticulously planted every Spirit Grain with precision.
