Chapter 5 The Shop!

Chapter 5 The Shop!

The system shop. After getting my system to level 1, I unlocked the shop. At first, I thought maybe I could buy skills, perks, and a blessing or two. But I was wrong. I can buy more than that. A whole lot more. I can buy quirks. I can't buy X-gene's, but I can buy quirks. I can also buy weapons and various other things. I can buy skills that allow me to do awesome things. I can even buy data packs for my system to analyze. I read the description, it says that it's data for the system and me to use. This data includes special knowledge about certain things. For example, how to manipulate people is one of them. But there's a data pack specific to the world my power is from as well. Specifically, the knowledge of the Doctor who conducted experiments to duplicate and fuse quirks. But also the process used to improve someone's body to withstand multiple powers and even All For One.

In the MHA world, it is revealed that All For One's plan was to transfer his power, along with his consciousness, into another body. In order to do so, this body had to be modified to withstand such power, or else it would be torn apart from the strain.

The original All For One quirk on its own put the user's body through a lot of stress originally, but add on all of the powers stored within, and it's a lot more than anyone can handle. So if a normal person even tried to have such power transferred to them, they would surely die. However, if it was only the original power, it could be transferred safely. Given enough time, maybe they could effectively use it. Knowing this, I wonder how Apocalypse did it. He also had many powers. And yet he lived all that time. His power likely works fundamentally different than mine. But I can guess how it worked.

But knowing that I can recreate the strengthening process means that I have more options. But there's only one problem. I need to upgrade the system to level 3 to unlock it. So it will be an option in the future. But it opens up so many options. However, that's also a problem. I'm worried I might become over-reliant on my system. There's the chance that one day I could lose because I grow too reliant on it, and if I lose the system, I could lose in a fight that matters. I don't want that. So I have to be smart about this and plan for everything. Or as close as I can get. So, how am I going to do this? I plan on stealing powers but there's a problem. If people's powers start disappearing then people are going to grow suspicious. And then S.H.I.E.L.D. might hear about it and investigate. So, I need to find a way to steal powers and get stronger, but without alerting too many, or even anyone, of my presence. A difficult task. But I have an idea of how to go about it.

I've been placing markers on mutants constantly. Most of them will likely be civilians who don't even know they are a mutant. So, if I steal their ability, they won't even know something's wrong. And for people who do know, they won't tell anyone. That's how bad the situation currently is with mutants. As for gang members who are mutants, I have an idea for that as well.

I need to level up to unlock more powerful quirks from the shop. Quirks that give the user an extra toe or limb, a quirk that changes the eye color, and a quirk that allows you to change your eye color at will, among other really minor things are all I can get right now. But I don't have any SP to begin with. So they're really not an option right now. Maybe in the future when I can duplicate quirks and mutations, I'll be able to fuse them to create greater combinations, but now they're basically useless... Wait, the eye color change one may not be. My quirks [Scanning] and [Search] have one major problem. My eyes glow when I use them. I might be able to negate it if I have the quirk that allows me to change my eye color at will. An idea for the future, but not right now. It's not really a problem at the moment. I can just wear sunglasses.

After contemplating my day, getting the X-gene, and the other possible mutants I used [Search] on. I am considering my next move. I might be able to steal abilities while they're asleep. But that would have to be later. I have something else to do right now. I look outside. It's the evening. I should get back to practicing my powers...

.....

As I'm training, my mind focuses on what happened to me and how I got here. I was framed and put in prison against my will. The person who did it was a smug piece of crap who probably laughed when I was put behind bars for something he did. I try to push the thoughts away, but I can't. I've been practicing many things with my powers. Lifting heavy things with my enhanced strength, and using [Overhaul] on random things to get a feel for how it works. Eventually, I got angry to the point of using [RivetStab] and punching a hole through a crate at random. It was one of the ones I didn't search. But something happens that catches my attention.

An RPG peeks out the hole in the crate. How did I miss this before?! What else did I miss?! Is there a secret room underneath this warehouse?! Wait, I might be able to use [Overhaul] to create that, and it would be good practice for the quirk...

After contemplating it for a moment, I decide to do that in the future when I have time. Possibly. But I immediately get back to the problem at hand. I'm really lucky they didn't explode when I punched through the crate...

.....

After deciding to finally take the time and fully take inventory of what I have, I finish with a smile. But immediately frown again as a thought comes to my mind. 'Who originally owned this place? A terrorist cell?!' The crates had some C4, Guns, Rifles, Ammo, grenades of various kinds, you name it. It was here in at least a small amount. Others in abundance. There were even what appeared to be the parts of a motorcycle. Also, other stuff wasn't full of contraband. Until I looked closer. There were stacks of money hidden inside a couch that was in a crate. I was suspicious considering where it was, and that it looked to have arrived at the same time, and I was right. After I tore open the couch I found there was $20,000 stuffed inside. A small fortune!

'System, are you able to control my body if I give you permission?'

{Affirmative}

I remember asking before, but I can't remember what the answer was, so I'll ask again.

'So if I ask you to take over and fight for me, can you?'

{Affirmative. Although I require a special tool from the shop in order to control quirks or X-genes}

Makes sense. Can't be too easy huh? But seriously, what am I going to do with all of these guns? I can't just drop them off at the local Salvation Army. Wait, do they even exist in this world? Sigh... Well, I need to do something. I need to relocate to another location. This place isn't safe. Staying here is dangerous. This might be a terrorist cell or who knows who else's secret stash. I need to move. I need to find another abandoned warehouse... Or maybe I should move ahead with my plans with the Morlocks...

.....

A/N
After thinking about it for a while, I have decided to post chapters on Fridays. One to two chapters a week. Sometimes I'll post three.

In case anyone was wondering, my idea of how the system works is based on the series called 'World Domination System.' It's a great series and I recommend it. If there is one problem though, it is long to the point of being boring. It's a good series, just so long that it gets old fast.

Also, I have an idea for another fan fiction. But I may not work on it. It would mean fewer updates for this series as I would have to split my attention between this fan fiction and another. So I'll try to write this series to at least chapter 30 before even attempting another one.

Also, I found out that another fan fiction is nearly identical to mine. I've never read it and it's practically the same. And I'm not talking about Meta Essence Gacha in Marvel. Just know I didn't copy them.

I had to rewrite this chapter. After planning out the later chapters, I realized the timeline didn't add up. So I shifted something that happened in this chapter to the next one and made some minor changes. Everything's basically the same, but it's a good idea to re-read this chapter if you read the previous version.

I had to rewrite this chapter again. I'm rewriting every chapter and I had to do this one too.
